Good morning my japa members, my japa journey i most confess has been full of up and down and each time I I feel so Disappointed and discouraged on why did I come here but I can say here is better even though it’s has not been easy. Getting here we had issue of accommodation even up til now me,my wife and the new born baby has stay in a room and manage with an Kenyan woman and paying £700 while we have little access to stuffs cause of too much compliant each time we wanna cook she complains of of bill here and there and so we have to cook once a day despite the fact that my wife is breastfeeding though I will be ungrateful if I did not appreciate the fact that she took us in most especially when the social worker was on us and was about to collect our baby because we were staying at travel Logde before the arrival of the child. The situation got more worse when I discovered the home office has made a mistake in the condition of my brp with the present conditions stating no work no engaging in business and I have reported since last month and notin is forthcoming.
Please anyone that can help as regarding

Accommodation (not asking for free) but sometin more better.my wife schools at University of hertfordshire so if I can get sometin within but I won’t mind if it’s far as well as my present place is far as well so I won’t mind and if I can get someone to help on that issue of getting a cash in hand job and any means getting my brp fix I will Still appreciate it .

Thanks in anticipation

Road closed - armed men every 100m … it is what it is …

TheGuyFromHR:
The thing I'm enjoying now is watching BBC and seeing the King of England driving in a small 3 car convoy along the road I used to follow from Uxbridge to central London. Outriders clearing the road smoothly, moving in and out, the convoy passing ordinary traffic in other lanes as usual, of course the aerial, ground and other security must be tight and all that, but ordinary motorists are barely affected.

On the other hand, if any of those bloody wankers in power in Naija were to be passing somewhere...

Hello All, please I need clarification on something. I recently got a job in the Uk with salary of £50,000.

Below are my questions:
I) is the salary above fair enough for a single guy
Ii) How easy is it to get side jobs outside the one on my work visa?

UK residents, I hope you're all aware your energy bills (gas & electricity)...... Would be going up by 85% in sept/oct.........

Your energy bills are going up to £4500.00 per annum.......

What are your coping mechanisms, assuming the government does nothing in way of support........ wink

Depending on experience and qualifications some of us have to take “shyte” salary to enter our profession in the UK. In my line of work, it’s virtually impossible to join suddenly at the top. Transferable skills but the employers are not comfy you know the environment and rules that govern the business in the UK. You can’t know it by reading or researching; you have to get it hands-on hence “shyte” role or salary.

Therefore, regarding “shyte” salary - comparison is a thief of happiness. Be content and grow accordingly ! Wink!!

The money you are required to show can be in:

your bank account

your partner's account if they are applying at the same time or they already have permission
a joint account with anyone as long as you are named on the account.
a joint account with both your parents' names.

London Pass all you need

Maturedhustler:
My people,

I am planning a trip from Scotland to London for my family just to refresh and rekindle energy in me that is almost depleted due to school works and settling down for past 6-7months.

I saw reasonable flights through easy jet via Gatwick/Luton/Stansted but not sure which one of the 3 airports will fit into my plan that I can easily commute btw tourist destinations, cheap but safe accommodation (bnb in family oriented area) and back to airport.

I have never been to London but looking forward to see places like London bridge that was falling down grin, London Big Ben, Iya Charlie abode, my boys will like to visit one/two clubs stadia.

I will appreciate if I can get advice on areas to search for BnB based on listed plan above. Don’t forget I be JJC for London o shocked cheesy. Thanks

Shine some light on “curly hair folks making noise part” because that statement is just totally unfortunate!!
MichaelUde:

Very uninformed and ill-judged comment.
Failure to read and understand shines through all you wrote.
Firstly, my comment was in response to someone else who said he's clearly against illegal immigrants, because their coming can spoil things for the rest of us who came legally, with reference to US-style extemism. I agreed with that. How you extrapolated that into "Patriotic fanaticism to an adopted country" is beyond me. That's a very biased reading of that comment, one which goes so far as to make it seem as if the writer was taking it personally.

Secondly, I clearly said (go back and read my comment, something you very clearly failed to do before jumping in with both feet) that I have much sympathy for refugees and am not very keen on this Rwandan thing, but I understand how their continued coming is not ideal, before the extremists vex and start carrying guns. All the more so when I see lots of young men standing around in groups, playing, talking loudly at the tops of their voices, ostensibly doing nothing in the middle of the day, I wish they would not make themselves so visible, because looking at it from a possible oyibo man's extremist standpoint, it is not hard to see that they would think these are illegal boat people, happily doing nothing and feeding off their taxes and chopping benefits at government expense, whether or not that is actually the case.

And lastly I dont see how you got that I as a Nigerian think I'm better than other Africans. That is utterly crazy, goodness knows where you got that from. I mentioned the fact that a lot of the young men in question appeared to be from a racial sub-group, which I as an African can identify, to most oyibos all of us are the same. I mentioned that in passing, not from any pejorative standpoint, but now you mention it, I don't think Nigerians or other African water-crossers generally stand around hanging about in the day time because they are better than other Africans, but simply because given that the average Nigerian can speak some English and many illegal immigrants turn up here because they already have some family or some connection in the UK in the first place, I think that when Nigerians or maybe others land here, they find their way into underground work sharp sharp, and something that the Eritreans or Ethiopians might not find as easy to do if their English is poor to non-existent.

Next time, learn to read before you comment. I won't discuss this further, waste of time in this case.
