these women should simply call the police OR walk into any police station (wherever they are) and tell their story...

Not as easy as that, if they try it they might be arrested. The only hope for them now is the Nigerian govt coming to their rescue via diplomacy

MrBrownJay1:

if you check carefully, these women were probably approached in Nigeria to go work as maids in the middle east, signed a contract to work as maid in the middle east, and were flown to the middle east in dubious ways to go work in the middle east....

they can always go back to Nigeria, greener "pastures" isnt by force...

Cos of the contract several of them signed out of ignorance is the reason why coming back is a problem. Infact some of them were told they were going to Dubai only to get to airport where they were given their passport with Lebanon visa.

In all, these ladies need help to come back home.

Sometimes, I hardly look into such news because this is what these ladies bargained for. They've sold out their bodies already that I think where they go should be their business.

They were deceived into going to Lebanon for greener pastures, they end up working as "shagala" slaves now these ladies refused to work and their agents decided to sell them off.

These are Nigerian ladies who are trafficked to Lebanon and are about to be sold by their agent in lebanon. We appeal to the Nigerian government to please help facilitate their return to Nigeria and also prosecute their Nigerian agents who trafficked them.

What other language do you understand?
I said I saw a similar post recently titled "The states with the highest number of prostitutes". Then these same states were equally listed.
Your own now says "The states with the highest number of human trafficking" with the same states listed again.
Upload the proofs of your findings and how you got your figures, you are dodging that!
If your findings is even genuine, how can you draw a conclusion based on 100 persons out of billions? It doesn't add up!

Simple random sampling n=N.

These facts were based on the information the ladies gave when we spoke with them and also when they returned to Nigeria.

Go and read well, he claimed it was a general findings and the top states are the ones he listed. He didn't say he conducted it anywhere.
Let him conduct a research on local human trafficking, drugs related offences and general criminal offences Internationally and bring the statistics here.
That's what they do when they are seeking for Online relevance and Nairaland likes that nobody will pay them for. Check the first comment, that's the aim of the foolish write-up.

Those insults are unnecessary.

The Op and his group, from what I can deduce from that post, are based in or conducted their studies within the South West. They discovered a problem and are trying to call attention to it.

Asking him to go round the whole Nigeria is unfair as I doubt he has the resources to fund such a project.

I think your concern should be whether he's saying the truth or not. Rather, you're quarreling with him because he domiciled his observations within the South West.

I don't know why we're brought up in Nigeria to be this aggressive

God bless you for this response.

Useless post from the anus of a BIGOT! Why not upload the list with the identities and proof of identities of the victims as backup?
You should have started locally with human trafficking in Nigeria and the destination of the Hausa girls being used as baby factories. Take a statistic of states involving in incest also. Start with the statistics of girls used as baby factories, list the states and call out their governors. Then you can proceed Internationally to Drug trafficking and criminal offenders.
Looking for cheap attention and likes on Nairaland that nobody will pay you for. If you have nothing in your skull, just keep quiet and read comments! NONSENSE!
Akara seller taking statistics? Mtchew!

Thank you for the insults.

My write up is not based on tribal sentiments or meant for tribal bashing. What I posted is as a result of the facts at my disposal and the aim is to help stop the madness of trafficking in south west and Nigeria.

I am a yoruba guy as well.

Kindly see beyond tribal bashing and insults and see how we can help to stop trafficking by ensuring these agents are arrested and prosecuted.

Thank you sir.

I will like to share a story on hot hubs of trafficking in Nigeria particularly in southwest.

At ProjectFerry we have facilitated the return of over 100 ladies from countries like lebanon, oman, Ivory coast...., some, we contributed money for tickets for them to return home.

Some bought their tickets by themselves while others through the intervention of @UNmigration and lebanese government. In the cause of interacting with these ladies, we observed that the victims are single mothers, young ladies with little or no formal education and ladies who feel the grass is green over there.

We observed that top of the list of traffickers are

1. Oyo state particularly Ibadan
2. Osun state particularly Osogbo
3. Ondo state particularly Akure
4. Lagos State particularly Festac, Alagbado and Ajegunle
5. Ogun state.
6. Ekiti state particularly Ado Ekiti.

We encourage the state governors of these states to do more on publicity as regards the dangers of allowing traffickers in the name of agents send you to a journey of perdition in the name of you are going to make money.

We call on Gov. Seyi makinde, Gov.Gboyega Oyetola, Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu, Gov. Jide sanwoolu Gov. Dapo Abiodun and Gov.Kayode Fayemi to kindly help to sensitize our ladies in your states on the dangers of going on these perilous journey.

Together we can end trafficking and help our ladies to be free.

In those 2 years you have been working n collecting salary. So if COVID-19 n the Political crisis currently rocking Lebanon (there have been months of riots in Lebanon) did not happen would you be making this video.

Please make another video asking Nigerian government to come n rescue you from the dilemma you found yourself now n leave out telling any story or blaming nigerian authorities. A placard saying "I DON FVCK UP. PLEASE HELP ME GET BACK TO NIGERIA" would be nice.

After her husband's death, she was on with another man and she got pregnant before she left the shores of Nigeria. She was deceived that the land is green in Lebanon, so please don't blame her.

What is wrong with Nigerians? They need serious orientation!

Naira has more value than their currency.

Before it used to be N1 to 10LP now it has dropped to around 4LP due to horrible governance in naija.

If u wanna migrate go to countries where the currency value is much more higher than your country.

Lebanese that will come here to huzzle and even master our language and integrate into the naija community to tell you the height and extent of their huzzling.

They have been experiencing political instability since time immemorial just like Libya is, in fact right now they are experiencing serious protest, because their government plans to further devalue their own currency the more. Nawa

Most of these ladies were tricked into going to Lebanon, their agents lied to them, atines we should not really blame the ladies.

EXCLUSIVE: Eight-month Pregnant Nigerian Woman Trafficked To Lebanon And Locked Up In Office Building Cries Out For Help

Rasheedat Taiwo Saka, an eight-month pregnant Nigerian woman trafficked to Lebanon, has cried out for help after she was abandoned to her fate by Nigerian authorities.

Saka told SaharaReporters on Monday that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, she has had no access to food or medical care and was currently locked up in her traffickers' office alongside other victims.

Narrating her ordeal, Saka said she left Nigeria after her husband died in November 2018 and things became difficult financially.

She said three agents in Nigeria including one Mr John and another person named Victor approached her and presented her the opportunity of working in Lebanon.

"Before I left for Lebanon, they bought our passport and ticket and said two months of our salary will be theirs' when we got there.

"I didn't know I was pregnant when I left Nigeria. When I got to Lebanon, the agency and my employer took me to the hospital, they found out I was pregnant but still forced me to work.

"Despite my condition, I was forced to work for six months from house to house until the house where I worked last. I had started showing very well, the woman returned me to the agency.

"I have not been paid. I reached out to the agent, Mr John, and narrated my ordeal to him saying I wanted to come home because the agency in Lebanon claimed I owed them. He dismissed me, saying my trouble was too much and asked me to contact my family to settle the Lebanese traffickers even when he knew I have no family. He has also been disturbing me, asking me to pay him, claiming I still owed him after collecting my salary from the agency in Lebanon," she said.

Saka, SaharaReporters gathered, is currently locked up in the trafficking agency called Damaj Services in Lebanon.

"I, alongside other women, some from Nigeria and others from Ghana, are currently locked up in an office building.

"The bed we are sleeping on is children's size and I am eight months pregnant. Throughout yesterday I could not sleep because I am in severe pain.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGQio0f8gjI

"I am hungry too. In fact, so hungry that I had to beg one of the staff in the building to buy food for me yesterday to eat, he bought bread and gave me. Then we were given five pieces of potatoes to eat; we are more than six in number," she lamented.

When SaharaReporters contacted Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, over the issue on Monday, her phone rang out without response.

A text message sent to her was also not replied as at the time of filing this report.

Adekola Damilola an activist with Rescue Africans In Slavery (projectferry), a project working to draw attention to the plight of trafficked Nigerians in Lebanon and Oman, said the biggest challenge they encounter is the unwillingness on the part of the Nigerian Government to rescue women and girls in danger abroad.

"There is unwillingness on the part of government. They can do more by sending a flight, like an amnesty and asking all women and girls who are trafficked and want to return to come back home from Lebanon, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

"Immigration officials are also part of the problem. They collect money from these agents who are traffickers and allow them.

“If staff from agencies like NAPTIP are positioned in airports, they're trained to know who is being trafficked and can intervene even before the women leave Nigeria. They should also be positioned in embassies abroad because I have heard of many cases where embassy staff just take names and complaints and send the women back to their traffickers without any action."

Religion / Miracles Happen by Adekdammy: 10:15am On May 31, 2020
Today is the last day in month of May.

I believe in miracles do u?

There was this family who had nothing on them, there was this lovely night, the mother of the house who also serves as the bread winner discovered that there was no water at home and she had no money on her to buy and to make matter worse, it was during the dry season, the mother of the house looked up to God and said a short prayer or better still whispered to God, Lord please let it rain, lo and behold in the mid night, heavy rain fell and she was able to have enough water to use the following day.

Are u also at that cross road, confused and overwhelmed, too tired to pray again and also at the point of giving up?

Hold on, just whisper the matter to God now, and trust Him for miracles on that matter.

I join my faith with yours, the matter will end in testimony in Jesus name, amen.

Have a blessed Sunday.
Maranatha. ..He cometh soon.

Religion / A Short Story On Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola by Adekdammy: 9:36am On May 03, 2020
Today I will be writing a short story about one of the founding fathers of CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHIRCH in person of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.

IWO TO FE WA LA O MA SIN

Iwo to fe wa la o ma sin titi
Oluwa Olore wa
Iwo to n so wa n’nu idanwo aye
Mimo, logo ola re

Baba, iwo l’a o ma sin
Baba, iwo l’a o ma bo
Iwo to fe wa l’a o ma sin titi
Mimo l’ogo ola re.

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola was born April 25th, 1904 in Odo Owa, Kwara State, Nigeria.

He was born into an Anglican family of which his father was the baba ijo of the church in odo owa, kwara state.

When he was around 10 years old, his brother M.O. Rotimi who was a Sunday school teacher with the Anglican church took him to osogbo where he was enrolled as a pupil with All saints school, Osogbo. When he got to standard 5, he quit school so as to learn motor mechanic while still an apprentice, he left to work with the Public Works Department (PWD). He was among the staff that constructed the road from igbara oke to ilesha. He worked with the PWD as a steam roller driver.

One account of how his ministry started stated that Babalola’s strange experience started on the night of September 25th, 1928 when he suddenly became restless and could not sleep. This went on for a week and he had no inkling of the causes of such a strange experience. The climax came one day when he was, as usual, working on the Ilesa-Igbara-Oke road. Suddenly the steam roller’s engine stopped to his utter amazement. There was no visible mechanical problem, and Joseph Ayo Babalola became confused and perplexed. He was in this state of confusion when a great voice “like the sound of many waters” called him three times. The voice was loud and clear and it told him that he would die if he refused to heed the divine call to go into the world and preach the gospel. Babalola did not want to listen to this voice but eventually He gave in only after he had received the assurance of divine guidance.
To go on the mission, he had to resign his appointment with the Public Works Department. Mr. Fergusson, the head of his unit, tried to dissuade him from resigning but the young man was bent on going on the Lord’s mission.
The same voice came to Joseph a second time asking him to fast for seven days. He obeyed and at the end of the period he saw a great figure of a man who, according to Pastor Alokan, resembled Jesus. The man in a dazzling robe spoke at length about the mission he was to embark upon. The man also told him of the persecutions he would face and at the same time assured him of God’s protection and victory. A hand prayer bell was given to Babalola as a symbol. He was told that the sound of the bell would always drive away evil spirits. He was also given a bottle of “life-giving water” (omi iye) to heal all manners of sickness. Consequently, wherever and whenever he prayed into water for therapeutic purposes, effective healing was procured for those who drank the water. Thus, Babalola became a prophet and a man with extraordinary powers. Enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit he could spend several weeks in prayer. Elder Abraham Owoyemi of Odo-Owa, said that the prophet regularly saw angels who delivered divine messages to him, an angel appeared in one of his prayers and forbade him to wear caps.

In October 1928, he entered the town in the manner described and was taken for a mad man. Babalola immediately started preaching and prophesying. He told the inhabitants of Odo-Owa about an impending danger if they did not repent. He was arrested and taken to the district officer at Ilorin for allegedly disturbing the peace. The district officer later released him when the allegations could not be proven. However, it was said that a few days later, there was an outbreak of smallpox in the town. The man whose prophecies and messages were once rejected was quickly sought for. He went around praying for the victims and they were all healed.

Pa David Rotimi, Babalola’s father, had been instrumental in the establishment of a Anglican Church in Odo-Owa. Babalola organized regular prayer meetings in this church which many people attended because of the miracles God performed through him. Among the regulars was Isaiah Oluyemi. Information had reached the bishop of the church that almost all members of the Anglican Church in Ilofa were seeing visions, speaking in tongues and praying vigorously, Babalola and the visionaries were allegedly ordered by Bishop Smith to leave the church but Babalola did not leave the town until June 1930.

On an invitation from Daniel Ajibola, Babalola went to Lagos. Elder Daniel Ajibola at that time was working in Ibadan where he was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Congregation. He introduced Prophet Babalola to Pastor D. 0. Odubanjo, one of the leaders of the Faith Tabemacle in Lagos. Senior Pastor Esinsinade who was then the president of the Faith Tabernacle was invited to see Babalola. After listening to the details of his call and his ministry, the Faith Tabernacle leaders warmly received the young prophet into their midst.
Babalola had not yet been baptized by immersion and Senior Pastor Esinsinade emphasized that he needed to go through that rite. Pastor Esinsinade then baptized him in the lagoon at the back of the Faith Tabernacle Church building at 51, Moloney Bridge Street, Lagos. Babalola returned to Odo-Owa a few days after.

A revelation was given to Ayo Babalola to burn down a big tree in front of the Owa's Palace. The big tree was traditionally believed to be the rendez-vous of witches and wizards. The juju tree was therefore greatly feared and sacrifices were usually made to the spirits believed to reside in it. There was apprehension that this bold act would result in the instantaneous death of Babalola since it was expected to arouse the anger of the gods. But to the great amazement of the people, the prophet did not die but rather continued to wax stronger in the Lord's work. That single event was said to have made even the Owa of Ilesa and important people in the town to fear and respect the prophet.

His revival in Ekiti accelerated by the conversion of both the Oba of Efon and the Oba of Aramoko. They were both baptized with the names, Solomon Aladejare Agunsoye and Hezekiah Adeoye respectively. After this event, news of the revival at Efon spread to other parts of Ekitiland.

God used Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola to trigger a spiritual awakening in his time that ushered people into a season of strange signs, wonders and occurrences. Babalola was a man who had strange passion for prayer and through the help of the Holy Spirit, he spent a large part of his life fasting and praying. He is said to have fasted for 40 days and nights more than twice in his life.
“Once, while he was in a prayer retreat at Ido-Ajinare in Ekiti State, after hours of prayer, he heard a sound of a moving object in which the Lord instructed him not to open his eyes. As he continued in prayer, a large python crawled over him. Later God instructed him to open his eyes and he readily obeyed. Just a little distance from where he was lying down, the Lord pointed to the python who had been roasted as if an electric current had shocked it. With this evidence, God told him that he had turned him to coal of fire and that he had now become untouchable for evil powers.

Baba was a man of prayers. He spent several days on mountains praying.
There is a mountain called “ori oke Aanu” (Mountain of mercy) in Erio-Ekiti in Ekiti state, Nigeria.
This mountain of prayer was founded by Baba. There is a spot on top of the mountain where he Kneeled to pray and his knee mysteriously pierced through from long hours of kneeling to pray leaving a giant hole in the rock. The hole remains there till date.

Another powerful fact about Baba was his indisputable healing power.
He was known to use water for healing which prompted the popular C.A.C song then: “Babalola Olomi Iye re o. Omi Iye, Iye, Iye, re o. Omi Iye…” which means “Babalola with the water of life”.
People with all sorts of illnesses and diseases that came in contact with the water were immediately completely healed.

Due to the mighty hand of God on Apostle Babalola, he was persecuted by the missionary church he belonged to (faith tabernacle) one thing led to another and the differences could not be resolved, this led to the birth of CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH in May, 1943. The church has strong faith in divine healing. They have over 5,000 parishes.

Joseph Ayo Babalola, a General of God died in 1959.

Religion / Moses Orimolade Tunolase Founder Of Eternal Sacred Order Of Cherubhim And Seraph by Adekdammy: 11:31am On Apr 29, 2020
I will be writing a short story on some church founders (fathers of faith) in Nigeria based on what I read and heard.

I will be starting with the founder of ETERNAL SACRED ORDER OF THE CHERUBHIM AND SERAPHIM.

I will be writing on his life and ministry but let me start with a hymn from the C & S.

Ipinle ti Jesu
Ti fi le 'le leyi
Ti Baba Aladura nto
Ke da ma se ro pe
O ye kuro ni be
Mo duro le
Kristi Apata

Kerubu eyo
Serafu eyo

A o fi ipile lele
Lori otito.

The name of the founder of the Eternal sacred order of the C&S is Moses Orimolade Tunolase.

He was born in 1879 in ikare ondo state. It was said that the day he was born, he tried to walk but the mid wife had to hit his leg which made him not to stand or walk until he was over 5 years old.

It was said that, at a very young age, he would always go to the Anglican church in his community and there was a night when he was alone in the church and the whole church was bright with light, mind you, there was no electricity then in his home town, even the minister in charge of the church was surprised with what he saw that night because he saw the glory of the Lord filled the temple with only a little over 5 years old Moses Orimolade Tunolase singing.

At about the age of 12 years old, he had a dream where he was presented with a rod, a royal insignia and a crown, this dream birthed his ministry.

The rod signifies for victory
Royal insignia signifies the power of prayer and speaking while the crown signifies honour.

At a certain time of his early age, he took ill and for seven complete years he suffered from his sickness. At the end of his illness, he became a lame man, but God made him to walk miraculously. During the period of his illness, he was taught by the Holy Spirit how to read the Bible and memorize whatever he read.

The period spent in confinement or sickness therefore represented Moses Orimolade’s training and preparation for his missionary work. At the end of it he was fully equipped to begin in earnest the task for which he had been ordained. For the next five years Orimolade travelled from place to place, like St. Paul in the Bible, preaching with great zeal the gospel of Christ. Many miracles of healing were credited to him during this period. He finally arrived and settled in Lagos where the C & S was later founded.

His Ministry

His first missionary journey was carried out in Irun, a village a few miles from Ikare. It was thus appropriate that the one who was to found a religious society averse to witchcraft should begin his campaign in this village. Thus “he destroyed the seal of witchcraft and acrobatic evil performances. He also pulled down the image of Osijora (one of the divinities worshipped in the village) and fought with the evil spirits operating in the area”

From Irun, he took his mission work to as far as Adamawa state, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and healing them that were oppressed of the devil.

July 1924, he brought the mission work to Lagos and he stayed with the church Sexton of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ebute Ero.

According to an account, Rev. Ogunbiyi invited Moses Orimolade Tunolase to preach the sermon on an appointed Sunday. Moses preached to the gathering. He was reported to have read from Genesis to Exodus without opening the Bible and interpreted it verse by verse to the congregation. Everybody in the church was transfixed. When Ogunbiyi saw that Orimolade’s sermon was moving and spiritually uplifting he told the congregation that Moses was a liar. Ogunbiyi challenged Orimolade to tell them the school from which he had learned all the theories and translations of the Bible.
This account further claims that Archdeacon Ogunbiyi tried to harm Moses with charms but that, as a vindication of Orimolade’s inviolability, it was the warden of the Church who became the victim. He collapsed but Orimolade’s prayers resuscitated him. As a consequence of this incident, Moses Orimolade was nicknamed Baba Aladura (The Praying Father) in Lagos.

On 18 June 1925 the Aladura Band was called to the rescue of an unconscious Methodist teenage girl, Abiodun Akinsowon, who had fallen into a trance when she tried to look into the chalice carried by the Catholic Archbishop on Corpus Christi public procession. Abiodun remained in the trance for 21 days in the care of the Aladura Band. She regained consciousness after 21 days and joined the Aladura Band. She became the first visioner in the band. The name of the band was changed to the Seraph Band on 9 September 1925 by Moses Orimolade. Topic: Give thanks to the Lord
Text: 2 chronicles 20:21

I know it will sound strange telling someone to give thanks to the Lord in this present situation, I know that some people have been struggling to cope with meeting up with their daily needs ever since this corona virus quarantine started while those who have tested positive to the virus too are not too pleasant with what is happening to them but as believers, the scriptures said in 1 thessalonians 5:18, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus, come what may, give thanks because everything will end in Praise and testimonies in Jesus name, amen.

Give thanks because we know Christ will grant the world victory over corona virus in Jesus name, amen.

From our text in 2 chronicles 20, the scriptures gave an account in verse 1 of how three nations; the moabites, the ammonites and some of the meunites ganged up to wage war against Judah, infact news were coming to him of how a vast army is coming to destroy them but instead of him to be afraid, he went before the Lord and tabled the matter to the Lord.

Corona virus is like a vast army killing the world today, W.H.O had to declare it a pandemic, it is crippling world economy to the extent that forecasters are declaring doom, like Jehoshaphat, now is not the time to be afraid,

Now is the time to seek the face of the Lord.

Now is the time for us to humble ourselves

Now is the time to give thanks to the Lord in this present situation.

Verse 17 talks about the instruction God gave armies of Judah; "you will not have to fight this battle (God will defeat the virus) Take up your positions; stand firm (let the researchers continue to work because breakthrough is coming) and see the deliverance the Lord will give you. (God will grant us victory over corona virus in Jesus name)

The moment the people of Judah began to give thanks by singing and praising the Lord, the bible told us how God ensured that the enemies of Judah helped to defeat themselves in verse 23.

When everything has failed, give thanks to the Lord, sing praises to Him and trust Him to grant you the victory you deserve in Jesus name, amen.

Dear Lord, we give thanks to you and we have faith that sooner than we expect, you will help us to defeat corona virus by granting the researchers the wisdom needed to get the cure in Jesus name, amen.

We pray for as many who are already infected, grant them healing in Jesus name, amen.

Give us a heart to obey our government at this time by staying at home and also practice social distance in Jesus name.

Above all, we shall not lack anything good in Jesus name, amen.

Maranatha...He cometh soon.
