And did Dangote tell you he sacked the workers BCS of union they joint ? He said his company under staffs restructure and repositioning . Labour law was made for workers assume for the government BCS there is no any private company that comply with it in Nigeria since 1960 and Government had never contested it BCS it's unwise to recommend the type of staff and operational system of a company you borrowed to establish by third party union who doesn't partake in what and how to establish your company.

Oga what I know is that Dangote is a private entity who has legitimate Authority to determine the Types of workers he needed and want. We have many private companies in Nigeria . Oga PENGASAN did not force the workers to join them but the Dangote workers violated the directive of their employer not to join the PENGASAN union. I repeat it no any private sectors in Nigeria that allow their Staff to join unions and if the workers admired to join the union then they can look for any Government institutions that allow such but not the private sectors which doesn't give room for that. I will later remind you what PENGASAN will uselessly later become in nigeria. Old days had gone .

Only government entities allow it in Nigeria . The private Sectors have their lay down policy and procedures which you must abide by before you are employed. They (the private) don't force themselve on you and you can't force yourselves on them . Why will you choose to join unions that your company is not in support? What were they doing for all this long 50years depending to get their incomes on importations ? What made it difficult for them to have their Revinary and make product available and compete with Dangote than to rely and planing to make things in old ways with Dangote indigenous Revinary? Apart from what Dangote is doing many workers are suffering in the hands of many employers without protection. Many a time people will work and employers will find reason not to pay you and to sack you. Some employers have become so notorious about such a behaviour. They were a time that my brother worked for a lady. Time to pay him she told him if she gave him employment letter.
You can easily take sides in this matter but since you are not working in that refinery you will be standing with Dangote but those who are working and suffering there will say otherwise.

You can say more than these to prove point but Dangote is a private entity you can not tread the way you treat government entity. The owner of the company knows best what shout the standard of his or her company . It's only the government 3ntities that allow it's workers to determine and dictate how the company operates not in private sectors . When I was in Lagos, the guy I washed clothes for is a marker with union Bank in Lagos.

So one day my madam ganged up with the marketer and asked me if I would like to open an account with them, initially I resisted. But after much thought, I decided to open an account with them.
He brought out a form and was the one that filled it himself while I was supplying him with the information. When it reached on what to fill as the address, he requested for Nepa bill, I told him that I don't have it currently but I will meet my Landlord to get it. He said I should not worry that he will use his own address.

I then gave him 2500 to open the account. After about a week, I received a text message from union bank with my account details, so I started depositing money in that account.

It's not up to 2 weeks, I wanted to withdraw money from the account and discovered that my account has been restricted. I was really embarrassed because I bought some things to send money only to discover that my account has been placed on PND. I was stranded that day because I had no money with me. I had to borrow money to eat that day

I called the customer care and they told me that my account was restricted because they could not verify my address, I wonder what the marketter put as the address.

Was it a plan by the marketter together with union Bank to set me up?

They restricted my account without warning or telling me before hand and I have never committed any crime or fraud with that account. I just opened it newly. Not even up to a month.

I want to sue Union Bank heavily so can explain why they restricted my account without telling me and also ordering them to compensate me for the embarrassment they caused me and the inconvenience they also caused me.

What is the best advice for me.

Your account was restricted based on outstanding Documentation. It is your responsibility to provide necessary and correct details before you sign up for account opening. If what you said about the marketer if true then she or he did that to fastrack the account opening just because of pressures on them to open more account. You are responsible for Whatever the marketer wrote in the form once you sign up after the filling of the Form.
