vivicintia: Please can I get info on this.
To apply for study permit into UBC - University of British Columbia, there is a non-refundable application fee to the school which is 1.4m.
Please if visa is not granted , will this money be refunded?
If not please what's the way out because the money is a lot.
Thanks all What do you mean by application fee of 1.4m? Infact the application fee for UBC is being waived for Nigerians. In other words, you don't pay any application fee compared to other universities that charge about 60 to 120cad as application fee. |

One line for those who have come earlier and have their names documented.. While the other line will be for those who are just coming. The first timers put down their names and will be told to come the following day or another appointed day.. Just plan two days... |

Hello prospective Canadian Students,
As a follower of this thread, I have gained seriously from information been shared here by co-lovers of Canada.
Kudos to every who have been asking and answering questions here. Indeed, You are doing since great community service work at zero cost.
It is imperative to let everyone asking questions here know that answers are provided to them based on individual or personal experiential opinion which may apparently be helpful for approval or even cause confusion that can results to painful delay. This is because those answering questions are not Canadian Immigration consultants. Infact a lot of people who haven't applied are scared of been refused before applying already. Majority of our Senior friend who are presently in Canada don't really have time to contribute due to their tight schedules. Greater proportion of those available to answer questions are even still battling with their application, infact , Some haven't submitted their application. So why kill yourself with someone's reply to your question.
We have seen a lot of miracles on this thread, some people have applied with only funding letter and got approval, someone with full funding and only 56,000naira in his account got it. Somebody recently got approval within a day. Many PGD and 1Masters applicant have shared approval testimonies. Sincerely, individual cases are different. Some didn't even submit police clearance, landed property or even LOE and they got approved. When God says YES, who can say NO.
My candid advice, If u haven't gotten admission offer yet, focus on that first and read on this thread before disturbing yourself with anxiety of either TRV success or refusal. Follow your mind to select the best route for your application and don't let anyone scare you with refusal. Never base your application only on the info you get here, Do extra work by reading all necessary information on CIC website. You can as well contact the Canadian immigration consultant in your proposed University as I know University of Alberta has. An online webinar was organized by University of Alberta recently to share tip on study permit application to prospective students, some of what we learnt there have never been shared here because the presentations where done by registered Immigration consultants. They covet more questions from us as soon as we have one. Gather your documents well and have faith in God.. Let your SOP/LOE be original. Don't edit someone else own, plagiarism is a serious offence.. Explain things that are special to you. Keep it simple and straight forward. Address all the questions expected to be answered in it. Never rush in writing it.
Frankly, I tailored this post to build the hope of someone. If you have done your assignment well. Only visa Officer can determine the outcome of your applications. Just use information gotten here as extra guide and not a major procedural manual.
May all those who have submitted and those yet to submit to CIC either by online or paper route get approval. Medical and passport request mail will roll in..
Kind Regards |

Luje: Hello guru's in d house. Have just been given an admission to study in one of the colleges in canada. Prior to this admission, I already joined an association in Canada since 2016 and have always been paying my dues annually and also participating in any of d conferences meetings the association always had via Skype or other means of communication. Am provisional member of the association aspiring to become a full member b4 I can practise forestry in Canada. And b4 I can practise , I wii have to arrange with an RPF( Registered professional forester) in Canada to sponsor or mentor me to have forestry experience in Canada. Without dis , I can't practise in Canada. I joined d association as a provisional member working towards my full membership which is RPF. All my efforts to get a mentor since 2016 has been no avail ,so, tru dis association I got to know about dis skool dat gave me dis admission. My course coordinator who happen to be an RPF as agreed to mentor me during and after my course of study in d skool with d consent of d association bcox the association as discussed with him on my behalf which make him agreed to mentor me. Have gotten all d necessary informations I need to get from him and the association and also a signed agreement form that he's mentoring me . My questions now is dat.....after given an admission into d skool, is it necessary for me to apply dose documents with my study permits documents when applying? I need the guru's in d aous to put me through? Plz!!!!!! Hello, am also a forester. Got my first degree in Forestry. I will be going to University of Alberta, Canada this fall for my msc... Do you have previous degree in Forestry? Can't you apply for Msc forestry? I will be glad if you can't share your profile with me.. I will send you a mail....kindly reply and let's connect. |

Aghatise: Hello house, I sent an email to a Prof at Univ of Sask - just for PhD research supervision (Fall 2018) - he replied that based on my GPA he would support me for the deans scholarship at Univ of Sask; he requested documents from me like my transcript etc and asked me to fill out a particular form for consideration. After this , he informed me that he has submitted it to the department for consideration. My question is that , since I have not applied for admission at all; is it possible to be granted a dean's scholarship in Univ of Sask prior to applying? How long does it take to get response on this scholarship? My MSc GPA converted to univ of Sask equivalent was 85.5% and BEng was 4.43/5 - what are my chances? Yes... The University of Saskatchewan Dean's scholarship is a prestigious scholarship aimed at attracting intelligent graduate students to their university. You can get the scholarship even before applying for admission but you must have published some academic papers alongside your high academic achievements before you can be selected. So since you have a supervisor already you can go ahead an submit you admission application. U will have to pay an application fee of $90cad. Once you have been selected for the scholarship, your supervisor or the scholarship committee will send you a mail. I know a senior friend who got the Deans Scholarship in 2016 for his PHD.. best of luck in your applications. |
