Again... TETFUND is an ACT.... Ambrose Ali is a state University benefitting from it..

Now tell me how the FG is involved with a fund going to State Tertiary institutions?

Go and read more on TETFUND previously called the Education Tax Fund (ETF)

I don hear you Oga Professor.

The Education Tax Act of No7 of 1993 mandated the Fund to operate as an Intervention Fund to all levels of public education ( Federal, State and Local).

The Fund is managed by an eleven (11) member Board of Trustees with members drawn from the six geo-political zones of the country as well as representative of the Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Finance and the Federal Inland Revenue Services.

The Board of Trustees has the following responsibilities as stated in the Act:

*Monitoring and ensure collection of Tax by the Federal Inland Revenue Services and ensure transfer to the Fund

*Manage and disburse the Tax
Liaise with appropriate ministries and bodies responsible for collection or safe keeping of the Tax

*Receive request and approve admit table projects after due consideration

*Endure disbursement to various public tertiary education institutions in Nigeria

*Monitor and evaluate execution of projects
Invest funds in appropriate and safe securities

*Update the Federal Government on its activities and progress through annual audited reports among the states of the Federation in case of regular intervention

*Review progress and suggest improvement within the provisions of the Act

*Do such other things that are necessary or incidental to the objective of the Fund under these Acts or as may be assigned by the Federal Government

*Make any issue guidelines, from time to time, to all beneficiaries on disbursement of monies from the Fund on the use of monies received from the Fund

*Generally to regulate the administration, application and disbursement of monies from the Fund under this Act

This should help shine more light on my stated opinion. Okezie Ikpeazu has proven time and again that he doesn't know what he's doing.

In my grading system below, 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest.

The role of state governments in Nigeria Grade
1 Security of its citizens and resultant properties 1/10
2 Provision of basic public utilities/amenities 1/10
3 Creation of an appropriate environment for economic growth 1/10
4 Ensuring our educational system is sound (Primary all the way to univ level 1/10
5 Establishment of health care facilities 1/10
6 Increasing state revenue generation and using it well 1/10
7 Maintaining state roads and setting up means of administrating local roads 1/10
8 Passing proper regulations to safe guard investments or its citizens 1/10

Ikpeazu is synonymous to Sanwo-Olu

This is very educative and interesting.

However, using these fluids is one thing and using the appropriate one for a particular vehicle is another thing.

This is how it is done in a sane society.

Sanwo-Olu 100 days in office is making more mark more than than the 4 years some corrupt governors will use in office.

Some of them have already shared the 4 liters of kerosene they are there to share throughout their 4 years tenure.
1 liter per year! wink

No, he should have abandoned the project like the lazy governor before him did/like they do in your side of the country.

Btw, it takes 3 months to complete meaningful projects? Apply common sense and logit when you post.

There's difference between commence and Complete Sir. However, he only commissioned already completed project. Of all the abandoned projects over the state, show me one Sanwo-Olu is attending to with photo time stamp proof.

Maybe autojosh can help out here.

Sanwo-Olu denied his statement on clearing APAPA Gridlock within 60 days after inauguration.
The alternative routes to Lagos-Badagry EW he promised even before election is forgotten already.

Sanwo-Olu for me is a man without Vision and Mission. He's a rubber-stamp Governor. His only objective is to dance to the tunes of his Benefactor

Is water provision a federal government responsibility or that of the state government
Do you know?
Is the state responsible for providing water to every house, office, shop, school, clinic, mosque, church, shrine etc or that is the job of the federal government?

UNN is a Federal Institution and all infrastructure within the walls of the school are part of the responsibilities of the Federal Government.

Water Reticulation is a water infrastructural project that takes a lot to be achieved

Ogbeni leave matter. It is this kind of reasoning that has turned Nigeria into the shithole it is today. When people refuse to do the right things, obey rules and regulations and follow laid down procedures, we have an environment conducive for the establishment, growth and nuturing of chaos, disorderliness and total fuckery.

Nairaland rules 1, 6 and 18 states categorically that users should create and post topics in the right section and not fracking spam the forum. All these adverts have made this section a hot mess that puts people off from visiting. The OPs complaints is akin to the suffering Lagosians suffered for years before Fashola took the bull by the horns and cleared Yaba, Oshodi, Tejuosho, Ojuelegba etc and restored a semblance of sanity to these areas. Prior to this these areas were congested, jam-packed, filthy, disorganised and every other negative adjectives you can think of. UNILAG is my alma mater and I always HATED passing through Yaba because of how rowdy that place was. Thank God for Baba Fash who didn't allow sentiments to stop him from doing the right thing, vis clearing off street trading and indiscriminate parking that made these areas hell on earth for Lagosians.

The first world nations we admire so much and are sleeping in their embassies here to hustle their visas (including the Canada you currently reside in) were not built on sentiments. Discipline, courage, accountability and obedience to rules were part of what got them to the positions they occupy in the global scheme of things. Nairaland is a microcosm of Nigeria where users are disregarding rules, posting their ads anyhow and anywhere, spamming the forum and typically being the undisciplined Nigerians they are. Try this _shit in Reddit and see if your account is not permanently banned.

There are sections dedicated for advertorials but no, they must come to this section and dot the cyber landscape with their scams and spams.

Anyway, the blame lies solely on the admin and moderator. RoyalRoy sometimes disappears for weeks on end leaving this section at the mercy of traders, porn_ vendors, trolls, spammers, copy and paste bloggers and other members of the Allied Nuisance.

Justwise transformed Travel section to the most organised section on Nairaland, and if this forum had one mod like him in every section, Nairaland will be a more entertaining and educating site to visit.

Long story short, shove the sentiments aside and stop supporting rubbish.

Your mouth ehn!!!

Science/Technology / Re: Is It Advisable To Have A Telecommunication "Mast" Close To A House? by ademoladeji(m): 11:48am On Jun 22, 2019

Why is his post not accurate?

Cancers, lung diseases, sleep disorders, physical disabilities... Saying these are part of risk associated with erection of mast/towers is absolutely untrue.

Non-ionising radiation are not cancer building but Ionising Radiation used in hospitals and Medical Labs.

sleep disorders only emanate from the sound of working Diesel Generator. This could only be possible if the power solution provided on site is inefficient. There are solar systems on site, backup Nickel Batteries on site.. these are in place in order to reduce run hour of generators, reduce air pollution from Generator fumes, reduce cost of buying Diesel, reduce the possibility of land contamination from oil spill on site.

Please do your research very Well before commenting in a public space. There are actually health hazards associated with having Telecommunication mast located close To human habitation.Telecommunication gadgets installed on the mast will radiate non ionising radiation inform of radiowaves and microwaves.
Health implications:Radio waves and microwave are absorbed by the body when an individual is exposed to them and will cause internal heating of organs as acute effect and thereby result to organs damage as a chronic effect.

What will determine the severity of the risk here is the fact that you and your family will be exposed to this hazard for a long time as far as you continue to leave close to the mast.Normally ,if you are a technician who comes to service the installation, you will only be exposed in small doses withing occupational exposure limits (OEL)but in this case;your residency will ensure that you exceed the acceptable OEL.In as much as the deal is always a lucrative one,I pray that you and your family will not refund the money via medical bills in the future.

I rest my case.

There are two types of radiation- ionising and non-ionising. Those emanating from the Antennas and microwaves are non-ionising. The effect of non-ionising radiation is the increase in body temperature by 6deg Celsius. The minimum offset stipulated by WHO is 5m between the equipment and existing building. NCC regulations state 7m but most Infrastructure Companies use 10m at minimum.

However, the equipment are usually at heights more than 15m from Ground level.

From personal research, the effect of towers is majorly environmental in nature. These include Noise Pollution, Air Pollution, Land Pollution. However, there are mitigating factors that are contained in EIA and EIS to reduce to the bearest minimum these aspects.
