Now I know why doctors have started going on strikes in the public health sector bc you guys push them too far, yet they know more about saving lives and do greater work. I didn't see u or any one from ur school for nfcps national convention held last week..or you guys had issues coming all the way to Enugu?

I had no idea there was a convention until I met Pharm Onyechi a week to the convention. The timing was bad. We're very sorry, being an NFCPS EXCO myself.

I've been PANS president for almost a year now, and I'm handing over sometimes this month. Don't mind olabams, there's no genius anywhere. Some of us only struggle better. We're all in the 'pharmacy school' struggle. I mentioned my cgpa on the first page of this thread, trust me you don't want to know what it is now.

ASUU OOU Holds Protest before Press conference

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Olabisi Onabanjo University branch ahead of the press conference today moved to the streets to hold a peaceful protest.
The peaceful protest which started few minutes to 12:pm attracted members of the union including the Chairman, ASUU OOU, Dr. Deji Agboola.

In his word after the peaceful demonstration, Dr. Agboola said the University has been mismanaged by the state government pointing out that Governor Ibikunle Amosun who happens to be the visitor to the institution has failed in all his promises to the University.

He also pleaded to the good people of Ogun State to help appeal to Ogun State Government to quickly come to the aid of the University and save it from collapsing.

Thereafter the union led by the Chairman, Dr. Deji Agboola addressed men of the press pointing out problems been faced by the University and insensitive approach of the governor to the lingering issue.

However, as at today the union is yet to commence any strike action. A decision will be taken before the week runs out, Dr. Agboola added.

The full text of the press conference will be made available any moment from now.

So early this morning I was at work. Cold and foggy as the harmattan has come to stay. I was less busy and was flipping through my phone. I decided to get into nairaland to see what was going on. So I saw this thread claiming NUC has released her latest University ranking and UI was the best University for 2015.

Fast forward to around 8pm, I received a call from Bae who is a student of UI. She then started to tell me how her classmates who saw the ranking made jest of my school (OOU) which sat 97th on the purported ranking. Well, I handled this part with maturity and entered BBM to lament about how Gov Amosun has refused to fund the university.

Then a law student claimed the ranking was false and I decided to do some research for myself.

Fact:


The last and latest NUC ranking came out in July, 2015 and it was based on webometrics.

This leaves me puzzled as to how just any thread can hit the front page without been thoroughly checked. The op of that thread just removed 2013 and inserted 2015. Thumbs up nairaland.
