No pity should be wasted on this loudmouthed terrorists sympathizer. His second was also arrested some weeks ago. It's good for them.

This evil guy mocked Deborah after she was lynched by Muslim youths in sokoto. He even lied about his "brother" being kidnapped and crowdfunded huge sums of money for the fake kidnapping. He used the money to upgrade his lifestyle and insulted all the people who sent him money out of pity. Very vile human.

What he is doing now is attracting the wrong attention to Nigeria. BAT has a lot of issues to worry about himself with America, adding Nathanyahu to the equation complicates matters for him. I don't think BAT wants Israel to put Nigeria in the spotlight, there is no surviving them.

Foreign AffairsTrump Threatens To Escalate Bombing As Iran Vows No Surrender by AdeProgrammer(op): 3:22pm On Mar 07
President Donald Trump threatened to escalate the bombing of Iran on Saturday as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed that he would never surrender, despite a fresh blitz of US and Israeli air strikes that set a Tehran airport ablaze.

Israel confirmed some of the biggest raids since the aerial bombardment of Iran began last Saturday, with a military academy, an underground command centre and a missile storage facility named as targets.

Pre-dawn AFP photos showed fire and smoke billowing from Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport, one of two that serve the capital.

“Today Iran will be hit very hard!” Trump posted on his Truth Social media platform.

“Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran’s bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time.”

Iranian President Pezeshkian struck a defiant tone in a speech broadcast on state TV in which he appeared to address Trump’s demand on Friday for “unconditional surrender”.

Iran’s enemies “must take their wish for the unconditional surrender of the Iranian people to their graves,” Pezeshkian replied.

Iran also hit back on Saturday, demonstrating that it retains the ability to launch missiles and drones despite the relentless targeting of its military infrastructure over the last seven days.

There were air raid alerts and explosions heard above Jerusalem as well as Gulf cities Dubai, Manama and near Riyadh — where Saudi Arabia intercepted a ballistic missile fired at an air base housing US military personnel.

The UAE said it had intercepted 15 ballistic missiles and 119 drones on Saturday, but video footage showed one projectile crashing into Dubai airport, the world’s busiest for international traffic in usual circumstances.

An explosion took place next to an airport building and parked planes close to a passing train, mobile phone footage authenticated by AFP showed.

Jordan also accused Iran of “targeting vital installations” inside the country with 119 missiles and drones over the last week, according to military spokesman Mustafa Hayari.

Pezeshkian issued an apology to his Gulf neighbours, which host major US military bases, saying that they would only be targeted if their territories were used as launch sites for attacks.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also said they had fired at the oil tanker Prima in the Gulf as it attempted to cross the narrow Strait of Hormuz, a key chokepoint for global shipping that Iran has effectively closed.

Human cost
Now entering its second week, the war was sparked by joint Israeli and US airstrikes last Saturday that killed Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

The conflict has since widened to war-battered Lebanon, as well as Cyprus in the EU, Turkey and Azerbaijan — and reached as far as waters off Sri Lanka where US forces sank an Iranian warship with a torpedo.

Inside Iran, damage to infrastructure and residential buildings is mounting, while residents of the capital report growing anxiety and a heavy presence of security forces on the streets.

“I don’t think anyone who hasn’t experienced war would understand it,” a terrified 26-year-old teacher told AFP on condition of anonymity. “When you hear the bombs, you have no idea where they will hit.”

The Iranian health ministry put the civilian death toll at 926 on Friday, with around 6,000 injured — numbers that AFP could not independently verify.

Israel has also intensified its air strikes on Lebanon, repeatedly bombing and ordering the evacuation of Beirut’s densely populated southern suburbs, where the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah holds sway.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz on Saturday warned Lebanese President Joseph Aoun that his country would pay a “very heavy price” if it failed to disarm Hezbollah.

Israeli commandos also launched an unsuccessful mission overnight to try to retrieve the remains of a navigator lost in 1986.

Lebanon’s health ministry said at least 217 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes over the last week, while Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has warned a “humanitarian disaster is looming”.

The consequences of the conflict reach far beyond those in the immediate firing line, however.

Global stock markets have slumped, while crude oil prices have surged, with analysts warning that there appears to be no clear path to ending a conflict that US and Israeli officials have suggested could last a month or more.

Trump, who has given varying reasons for starting the war, has spurned fresh talks with Tehran, and said on Truth Social on Friday that “there will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER”.

Defiance
Trump has also promised to help rebuild the country’s economy if Tehran installs someone “acceptable” to him to replace Iran’s late supreme leader.

Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, said the United States would have no role in selecting Khamenei’s successor.

“The selection of Iran’s leadership will take place strictly in accordance with our constitutional procedures and solely by the will of the Iranian people, without any foreign interference,” he added.

Though Iranian retaliation has been inflicted widely across the Middle East, US rivals China and Russia have stayed largely out of the fray despite their ties to the Islamic Republic.

Russian President Vladimir Putin voiced support for an “immediate” ceasefire during a phone call with Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday, the Kremlin said.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the United States is “not concerned” about reports that Russia is providing intelligence to Iran on US troop positions and movements.

The war has killed six US service members and Trump is to attend the return of their bodies at a transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware on Saturday.

Danger, Politicians At Work

What is the bottom-line definition of a politician?
Anyone in a position of managing human and other material resources for the common good of groups of people is a politician. Think deeply and know that babies, siblings, parents, children, teachers, headmasters, principals, house masters/mistresses, school prefects, lecturers, professors, department heads, faculty deans, vice chancellor, religious leaders at different levels, the judiciary at different levels , law enforcement agents, traditional rulers, local government councilors/chairmen, state governors, senators, civil servants, employers, business owners, and all professionals are politicians.

From the above framework, every human being falls into multiple groups and has dynamic roles to play, whether positively or negatively. Accountability is demanded from all, except infants. In what ways are you contributing to progress, security, and love wherever you are? Those we call politicians are always selected from .y definition of politicians. The more transparently we all manage human and material resources at our disposal, the greater the probability that those we select from our midst to be at the top will perform for our general good. We need a culture of self-control and self-discipline. RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION.

EducationNigerians To Pay N107,500 For IELTS From September 2023 by AdeProgrammer(op): 7:54pm On Aug 10, 2023
Information from the British Council on Thursday noted that Nigerians will now pay the sum of N107,500 for academic International English Language Testing System examinations from September 2023, The PUNCH reports.

Originally, the United Kingdom requires the citizens of any country willing to relocate to the UK for work or study opportunities to take the IELTS.

The cost of the test, which currently stands between N80,000 and N90,000 in Nigeria, is almost three times the country’s minimum wage of N30,000.

But the council noted that the hike was necessary to sustain the high quality of standards for the “testing experience.”
“Dear valued Test Taker, We would like to inform you that effective from 1 September 2023, there will be a price increase for IELTS tests offered by the British Council.

“The new prices will be NGN 107,500 for IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training, NGN 116.000 for UK Visas and Immigration and NGN 104,000 for Life Skills.”

It added, “The new prices are necessary to sustain the high-quality of standards for your testing experience.”

“Thank you for choosing the British Council,” a terse message on the council’s statement read.

The PUNCH reports that the UK remains one of the choicest destinations for Nigerians seeking better learning opportunities and way of life in foreign countries, with many opting for the education visa route and also taking dependants along to the UK.

In the 2020-21 academic year, 21,305 Nigerian students were enrolled in UK universities. This represents an almost 64 per cent increase from the 2019-20 figure.

As of September 2021, only two other countries, China and India, were sending more students to the UK than Nigeria.

Enrolments from Nigeria spiked from 12,820 in 2016-17 to 21,305 in 2020-21 to 44,195 in 2021-22.

Among all nationalities, Nigerians represented the largest relative increase in sponsored study visa grants, which reached a record high of 65,929, a nearly 700 per cent increase from 2019 and a 222.8 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2021.

Data from the Home Office of the UK in May also revealed that 66,796 dependant visas were issued to families of Nigerian students who obtained study visas from March 2022 to March 2023.

In a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor highlighted that the centre established by the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency, seeks to bridge the communication divide between the general public and the government.
He said the centre will utilise basic technology to establish a toll-free hotline, allowing citizens to share information without incurring charges, using the phone number 080 0000 5555.

Governor Mutfwang said the centre is already operational and people can call. He emphasised that the state government will cover the cost of all incoming calls on behalf of the citizens.

Elijah: Trusting in God's Provision

Scripture: 1 Kings 17:14

"For thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sends rain on the earth.'"

The story of Elijah demonstrates unwavering faith in God's provision, even in the midst of scarcity and challenges. During a severe drought in Israel, God commanded Elijah to go to a widow in Zarephath. When Elijah found her, she was gathering sticks to prepare one last meal for herself and her son before they expected to die due to the famine.

Despite the dire circumstances, Elijah trusted in God's promise. He asked the widow to bring him a little water and a morsel of bread. Though hesitant, the widow obeyed, and a miracle unfolded. The bin of flour and jar of oil in her house did not run dry until the day the Lord sent rain upon the earth.

Elijah's story teaches us the importance of relying on God's provision, even when it seems impossible. It reminds us that God can use unexpected sources and circumstances to meet our needs. Elijah's faith and obedience led to abundant provision not only for himself but also for the widow and her household.

In our own lives, we may face times of scarcity and uncertainty. However, Elijah's story encourages us to trust in God's faithfulness and provision. He is our Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees our needs and provides for us according to His perfect timing and plan.

Reflection:
Take a moment to reflect on Elijah's trust in God's provision. Consider the areas in your life where you struggle to rely on God's provision and instead lean on your own understanding. How can you deepen your faith and surrender your needs to God, trusting that He will provide? Pray for a heart that fully relies on God's provision and finds contentment in His faithful care.

As we reflect on Elijah's story, may we be inspired to trust in God's provision in our own lives. May we surrender our worries and anxieties, knowing that He is our provider and sustainer. May our faith in His provision lead us to live with gratitude and generosity, knowing that He will supply all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the example of Elijah's faith in Your provision. Help us to trust in You, even when our circumstances seem bleak. Increase our faith to believe that You are our provider and that You will meet our needs according to Your riches in glory. May we rely on Your provision and give thanks for Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
