Fed to 'Proceed Carefully' Amid Rising Treasury Yields, Economic Strength: Powell Investing.com – Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on Thursday said the Fed is "proceeding carefully" on monetary policy decisions following a spike in Treasury yields that have helped tighten financial conditions "significantly," though acknowledged that signs of ongoing economy growth could warrant further monetary policy tightening. Highlighting the backdrop of a still tight labor market and the 11-rate hikes delivered so far - that could still tighten financial conditions - Powell said the Federal Open Market Committee, or FOMC, is "proceeding carefully," on monetary policy decision. The Fed chief, however, acknowledged that the jump in longer-term U.S. government bond yields has tightened financial conditions and could help the Fed in its battle to rein in inflation. "Financial conditions have tightened significantly in recent months, and longer-term bond yields have been an important driving factor in this tightening," Powell said in prepared remarks Thursday for a speech at the Economic Club of New York Luncheon, New York. Still, above-trend economic growth or signs that tightness in the labor market is no longer easing, could "put further progress on inflation at risk and could warrant further tightening of monetary policy," the Fed chief said. "Many forecasts calling for the U.S. economy to be in recession this year," Powell said, but "growth is now running for this year above its longer-run trend." "This has been driven largely by consumer spending, driven by a very strong job market," he added. The remarks from Powell arrived just as the yield on the 10-year Treasury flirted with 5% for the first time since 2007 following data Thursday that pointing to a still strong job market The most recent measure of core PCE showed a slowdown in the pace of inflation to 3.9% in August from 4.3% previously, though that is still well ahead of the Fed’s 2% target. "Fed to 'proceed carefully' amid rising Treasury yields, economic strength: Powell" What does this Powell's speech translate into regarding the Dollar's strength...fundamental analysts in the house please. 1 Like 1 Share |

During the week I made some losses due to impatience and indiscipline. Henceforth, I am sticking to my trading rules which I've written down in a book and must be carried all around before placing a trade. These rules, I must master until it is written boldly in my heart. However, in the future, it might still be tweaked as I gain more knowledge and experience. But for now, this is what I will stick with. Rules Before Every Trade Entry 1. Check higher time frames (1hr, 4hr, 1D) for trend direction 2. Every entry MUST follow the trend 3. Max of two open trades 4. Make a trade mapping for the day 5. No big Stop Loss( Max. 30-40 pips) 6. Sell from the high, Buy from the low 7. Every stop loss for a buy must be placed under a support zone and vice versa 8. Always check the news (Chai, this thing show me shege) 9. Always check for possible reversal. So help me God 5 Likes 1 Share |

I've been an active trader for about 2 years now and I can comfortably say I'm still a novice, probably due to bad mentorship, lack of strategy and plan, and not being disciplined. After consistently losing accounts, I took a break and I told myself I needed a strategy and a change of mentor. So I started reading ebooks, watching YouTube videos, and even paid some Instagram mentors I eventually found out that I'm even better than them. Long story short, I adopted the support and resistant strategy, along with trendline. On my demo account, my winning rate with these strategies was about 55-60%. I started gaining confidence bit by bit but my problem is that the value of my 40% losing rate is usually higher than the value of my TP. Yeah, I need more confidence to allow my trade to play out and not close up a winning trade early. That, I need to work on. That being said, I was reading through the comments a few weeks ago about an argument on support and resistance when I saw the comment of Boss Gabson FX2 where he said he buys at the resistant and sells at the support. I was like MOGBE!!! I looked at my SNR strategy, I looked at his comment, and I was like which kai wahala be this, was confused cos boss has been making good profits, and I started doubting my SNR strategy. That weekend, I was forced to backtest it with Gold(my one and only love). After my research, this was what I learned: 1. Some people usually say the more the support and resistance are tested, the stronger it becomes. My research says otherwise, the more they are tested, the weaker they become 2. In an uptrend market, the resistance can be easily broken, likewise in the downtrend market, the support can be broken easily. This is why I believed Boss Gabson FX2 when he said he sells at the support zone and buys at resistant. In fact, when this zone breaks out, na with a big move. The more the move, the more the profit. We learn every day. I won't give up until I become a PRO. 8 Likes |

1. Every successful Prop Trader’s Average Win is greater than their Maximum Loss. This means if they are making $1,000 on average with each winning trade, they are keeping their maximum loss with any losing trade below $1,000 2. Successful Prop Traders have a higher Profit Factor than usual. This means the total amount they generate from winning trades is bigger than the total amount they lose from losing trades. 3. Successful prop traders have a higher Win vs Loss Duration Ratio. This means they hold their winning trades for longer than their losing trades. 4. Successful prop traders execute a lesser number of trades in a given cycle. 5. Successful prop traders follow the market trend and don’t trade when the market is consolidating. They follow the higher timeframe bias to follow the trend. 6. Successful prop traders trade their profitable pairs on their profitable days. More than 45% of the payout is getting disbursed to the traders who trade on a specific trading day. 7. Successful traders have a higher win percentage. Traders who had their win percentage in a range of 60-70% had the likelihood of getting almost 10 times more payout than traders with a win percentage between 50 to 60%. 8. Successful Prop Traders have a limit on the number of losses that they are going to take within a day. Traders who can keep can keep their daily losing trades below 4 are getting around 72% of the payout disbursement. Summary of Prop Traders' Secrets By FundedNext 5 Likes 1 Share |

@Farmerakinloye. Pls, I've 2 questions to ask. 1. Do you use venturi while fertigating or you do top or side dressing alone? 2. When pruning your cucumber plants, how many vines do you leave unpruned to ensure maximum production? |

well, i think you can lease land to cultivate maize, probably 5 acres for a start, and then sell as dry maize in bags. I guess a bag of dry maize is about N15k( i hope I'm not wrong). you can get at least 30-40bags per acre. You can do the calculation. Also, during this raining season, this is the time tomatoes get scarce and the price is always high at this period which may be as high as N25k per basket. You can earn millions if you are planting on 2-4 acres of land. All you need is a high yielding and disease resistant variety and can adapt to rainfall. Finally, toward the end of the year, when the rains are going, you can plant your watermelon and cucumber. These crops are highly profitable. |
