<<What do you think>> OF THE GREATEST NIGERIA STUDENTS! It is no longer a news that the strike will be suspended soon. ASUU wil soon be smiling leaving the students frowning due to their precious time that have been callously wasted.. In our own opinion ASUU should pay for damages..yes!! they must.. As damages we arent requesting for our share of the earned allowances which to us is fraud...we should be compensated by changing the marking scheme for the affected semester into something like this; ATTENDANCE 50% TEST 10% ASSIGNMENTS 10% EXAMINATION 30% OUR TIME SHOULDNT BE WASTED FOR NOTHING, IF THEY COULD LURE GOVERMENT TO AGREE WITH THAT RIDICULOUS DEMAND, WE TO CAN DO IT.. I BELIEVE WE CAN.. ALUTA HONOURABLY CONTINUA, VICTORIA EXCELLENTLY ASCERTA! Lol...oya share your views. |

G20 leaders remain divided over the Syrian conflict as they enter the final day of their Russian summit. Italian PM Enrico Letta said the splits were confirmed during a working dinner in St Petersburg on Thursday. A spokesman for the Russian presidency said a US strike on Syria would "drive another nail into the coffin of international law". At the UN, the US ambassador accused Russia of holding the Security Council hostage by blocking resolutions. Samantha Power said the Security Council was no longer a "viable path" for holding Syria accountable for war crimes. The US government accuses President Bashar al-Assad's forces of killing 1,429 people in a poison-gas attack in the Damascus suburbs on 21 August. The UK says scientists at the Porton Down research laboratories have found traces of sarin gas on cloth and soil samples. But Mr Assad has blamed rebels for the attack. China and Russia, which have refused to agree to a Security Council resolution against Syria, insist any action without the UN would be illegal. The US and France are the only nations at the G20 summit to commit to using force in Syria. 'Divisions confirmed' Ms Power told a news conference in New York: "Even in the wake of the flagrant shattering of the international norm against chemical weapons use, Russia continues to hold the council hostage and shirk its international responsibilities. "What we have learned, what the Syrian people have learned, is that the Security Council the world needs to deal with this crisis is not the Security Council we have." US President Barack Obama is thought to be trying at the G20 summit to build an international coalition to back strikes against military targets in Syria. But differences of opinion became obvious when world leaders - including Mr Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin - discussed Syria over dinner on Thursday evening. The Italian prime minister said in a tweet that "the G20 has just now finished the dinner session, at which the divisions about Syria were confirmed". President Putin's press spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said after the dinner that the G20 was split down the middle, with some countries seeking hasty action and others wanting the US to go through the UN Security Council. British sources say the leaders of France, Turkey, Canada and the UK gave strong backing to President Obama's call for military action. The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said the Turks put a "very strong argument about how the world must respond to the use of chemical weapons". But correspondents in St Petersburg say opponents of US military intervention appear to far outnumber supporters within the G20. And the BBC's Bridget Kendall says the views of the G20 leaders on any US action could be the least of Mr Obama's worries, as his real difficulties might lie back in the US. President Obama was nearly an hour late for Thursday's G20 dinner. His aides said he had been trying to find time during the summit to call US members of Congress, who are due to vote next week on whether to back Mr Obama's call for a military strike. President Obama also cancelled a trip to California on Monday in order to lobby Congress, as a poll commissioned by the BBC and ABC News suggested more than one-third of Congress members were undecided whether or not to back military action. A majority of those who had made a decision said they would vote against the president. Syria's parliamentary speaker has written to the speaker of the House of Representatives urging members not to rush into an "irresponsible, reckless action". Meanwhile, former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev told the BBC that Mr Obama and Mr Putin should meet in order to find a solution to the Syrian conflict. "They must strike up a conversation that will lead to the improvement of relations and stop the things which are happening now," he said. The Assad regime has been accused of using chemical weapons against Syrian civilians on several occasions during the 30-month conflict. Some 100,000 people have died in the conflict, and more than two million Syrians are classified as refugees, according to the UNl |

I was in church one day when pastor said: "It's time to say hello to your neighbours, shake hands and lets get to know each other." I said hello to the person sitting to my left and to the one sitting to my right.. We introduced our selves and both said they were Egyptians. Preaching time came and pastor decided to preach from Exodus 14:13.. Telling us about how God saved the Israelites from Egyptians. My people, remember that there were Egyptians on my left and right. I was thinking to myself"How do these two Egyptians feel knowing that their people are the bad guys in this Bible verse" Well, I just sit-down my own je-je-je. The next thing oo!!, pastor shouted: "The Egyptians made the people of God to suffer for years!!!, I said they made them suffer!!!, Turn to your left and to your right!!! And tell your neighbour!!!, The Egyptians you see today!!!, You shall see no more!!!" please, if you were in my position will you repeat the prayer? |

I recall mum telling me about a man in my Neighbourhood on island side who became popular for engaging in money rituals just to buy the 80's edition of the Honda Prelude. You wouldn't buy that car for 50k today. Some other guy brutally murdered his brother,( whom their father gave cash 2 travel 4 the purpose of re- stocking their warehouse) just cos he wanted 2 acquire the rev of the moment Pathfinder jeep. That same vehicle is now better described as a coffin. I Remember as a kid, my whole street converged to watch a truck deliver a very large satellite dish to my neighbour's house. Today a dish one tenth that size delivers 5 times the value and is in almost every student hostel room. What about the Volkswagen Santana, Mercedes Benz V booth, 505 Evolution, Toyota Crown, all overtaken by latest models of Camry, Honda, Bugatti, Bentley, X6, Acura and Infinity? .... Vanity. Some ladies left their true loves cos some rich guy then persuaded them with a Daewoo Racer, which turned out 2 be the only car they ever owned till 2day, while enduring a most terrible marriage life. They found out, albeit too late that true love is invaluable. That intangibles are to be cherished over tangibles. A friend declared drinks because he launched the Nokia Communicator for over hundred grand in 2002. Today that phone would embarrass the owner and is a joke compared to the low cost and everyday phone. What about d MTN sim card that many people went extra miles b4 dey bought for over 30k, today u will not buy it at N100 because all networks are begging people to even take it for free. People are still making the most horrific sacrifices over 'vanity' and make enemies over worthless material things. What can I Say? Look back at that one thing you want to kill or die for today and see what becomes of it 2mao. There is absolutely nothing u can't achieve, all u need is a little time and patience and u would thank God without regrets |
