Returning to 1963 constitution is like returning to stone age or trade by barter.
The parliamentary system of government hold the francophone countries down till today, because No party can form government with out the coalition with other parties, and when the government is formed, this may not last long as far as any party can pull out of the coalition, to topple the government, even the majority in parliament can blocked the action of government at their wish, its a stupid system of government ever in the world where politicians bound together and hold their countries to ransom, go to Niger Republic now, there is the scenario there.

Foreign Affairs / We Are Tired Of Subsidizing Others ....catalan; Where Is Humanity? by Adetewa: 12:16pm On Oct 08, 2017
'Tired of subsidizing'
Retired industrial engineer Henrique Aparici, 74, said Catalonia -- a wealthy region -- was "tired of subsidizing practically the rest of Spain" while receiving no help from Madrid.

"Both sides are very angry. They don't want to talk, particularly Madrid does not want to talk. Here they are always with their doors open for dialogue, but I think this will end badly," he said.

Unless there is a U-turn, he said, the Spanish state "will annul the autonomy, more repression, more police forces and we will have a military intervention."

Aparici said the motivation for Catalonia's separatists has always been gaining greater fiscal autonomy.

"We're subsidizing Andalucia, we're subsidizing Extremadura, we're subsidizing, subsidizing, subsidizing ... and it comes a time where we don't feel like subsidizing any more. So the only thing that could happen here is that, by force, they make us carry on subsidizing," he said.

"This is what we wanted with the referendum, to know if we were the majority or not."

Other than complete annexation of the southern protectorate after the final defeat of the Igbo resistance to colonialism in 1914, what negotiation was this author all about?
pls, stop what you know nothing about,
Igbo didn't resist colonial master, we know those who resist in Africa, Igbo is not among, it's a cooked lie history!
The reality is that igbo never have kingdom nor Empire like other ethnic groups, they were living in loose scattered individual in nuclear family in the jungle.
This make it difficult for British to rule every loosely home, they imposed a leader on igbo and and use direct rule to get them along!
even with this it's not easy to mobilized igbo, to your notice they were servants of European slave merchants, around bight of Congo then.

It's stupid to ask a question on who signed the Amalgamation of Nigeria?
This threading question not only show the ignorant of the questioner but exposed the ignorance of many Nigerian youths to the history of Nigeria
The reason is that, there is nothing like amalgamation of Norther & Southern Nigeria till date in our history, The only Amalgamation we have is the Northern and Southern protectorates!
is just as simple as that.
The negotiation on the existence of Nigeria traced to the different constitutions of the past, London and Ibadan constitutional conferences
1913 (which came into effect on 1 January 1914),
1922,
1946,
1951 and 1954 constitutions.
Richards Constitution (after Governor-General Sir Arthur Richards provided
Legislative Council empowered to deliberate on matters affecting the whole country.
Macpherson Constitution
Lyttleton Constitution, named for Oliver Lyttelton, 1st Viscount Chandos and enacted in 1954, firmly established the federal principle and paved the way for independence.
If you were not born to this period blame yourself not those who involved the negotiation.

Politics / Re: Nig. Manufacturers, Fg, Private Individuals Generate 13223, 7000, 10000 Mw Power by Adetewa: 11:40am On Oct 06, 2017
oladeebo:
With a capacity to generate 30,223MW of power in Nigeria, the country is still in dilemma of producing Electricity to the people.
if we can manage to put these capability and capacity together, Nigeria will have a sustainable power to boost it's economics out put.
How to do this:
The pump price cap for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at N145 per litre,
The government must cut the price of pump price of petrol use by generators by 15%!...₦21.75k
The price of pump price of petrol use by generators at the discount price will ₦123.25k
Then the Fg will open a special account as Electricity generation and distribution account in which ₦23.25k will be remitted.
This will be continue until we generate enough money needed to generated the 30,000 MW the nation needed!
Application:
Any one needed fuel for generator will buy money order to be presented at petrol station at discount price of ₦123.25k/liter.
In less than a year The Electricity generation and distribution account would generated the amount needed to generate Electricity for the nation and put off the generators out of function!
oladeebo
out of 40million liters of petrol consumed daily in Nigeria, 1/2 of it is for the function of generators which is 20million liters.
if that 20 million is multiply by ₦23.25k(20m X 23.25)=₦465,000,000/day
per year it will be ₦169,725,000,000!
if ₦169,725,000,000 is injected into the production and distribution of Electricity, we will get-out of dackness!

Youths and paradigm shift...........

Only that. Nothing else!
yah as we were loosely on any Idea, until when we bind together working hand in hand on an Idea like thie forwarded it to our law makers to create it's bill take it to house for deliberation and adoption.
WARD GOVERNMENT WG when adopted will be a direct allocation to every home in Nigeria.
We should watch our politician adotion their only ideas on us, we have our own geinue ideas that will make Nigeria better;
look:

If the LCDA(Local Council Development Area created by Lagos state governor, Oyo state governor, Ogun state governor is to bring government nearer to the people I am calling them to strike them out and call for the creation of WARD GOVERNMENT.
That's only way they can bring the government nearer to the people and people will feel dividend of democracy.

WARD GOVERNMENT (WG) CREATION BILL
The executives of the wg government must not inform politicians, they must be universally voted by ward, for a mandate of four years and two terms non renewable.
Wg functions is to carry out the constituency projects, borehole, taken care of old age, security, routes, electrification, sanitation etc

By this policy Nigeria will have 4 tiers of governments;
i. Federal Government
ii. 36 State governments
iii. 774 Local governments
iv. 9,572 Ward governments
The development and prosperity of Nigeria will come rapidly and certainly.
Nigeria Annual budget of N7.44 trillion is largely enough to develop Nigeria to the Developed nation, if corruption is banished

Any good suggestion about how Nigeria can progress? Mature minded only.
good thread best remark!
This should have been the thread we would have open daily on this platform instead of creation threads of blood feud between ethnics and religion groups.
we must know the real problems of Nigeria before we think about the solution.
i. the gab between the rich and poor.
ii. congestion of urban area.
iii. abject poverty.
iv. bad leadership
v. corruption.
Solution:
The totality of money stolen is people's money, the capital projects expenditure;
The recurrent expenditure is never available for looting, otherwise it's increase yearly in our national budget, the money needed to run political office, and public civil servants.
Budget padding on constituency projects, Abandoned already awarded contracts, ghost workers payment etc were all stolen from capital expenditure.
Why it is hard to win anti-corruption war is because, people didn't directly concern or involve in the money recovered from the looted fund.
people believe, it was the politicians that looted the money, it's the same politicians, that recovered the money, it is the same politicians that will decided on the looted money recovered and at last the money recovered will be return to the same politicians to re-manage!
That is where people lost confident about the war against corruption and not fully support or involved in it's fight.

The whistle blower is one of the successful policy of this administration; It's because of 12 to 25% over of the money recovered to those who blow whistle that lead to the recovered money .

Now to totally eradicated corruption in Nigeria government must adopted a policy that will return the recovered looted money to the owner(the people) directly for manage, with out any intermediary of the politicians.

The only way to do this is to Create WARD GOVERNMENT (WG) and this government executives be voted to the office by the people of each ward in Nigeria and mustn't involved any politician (an independent candidate) to carry out the ward constituency projects.

By this policy Nigeria will have 4 tiers of governments;
i. Federal Government
ii. 36 State governments
iii. 774 Local governments
iv. 9,572 Ward governments

i. from poverty
ii. from exodus to urban center
iii. the development of every corer of Nigeria
iv. end-up corruption, budget padding, bridge the gab between recurrent and capital expenditure
v. bring life to the poor and the vulnerable one.
etc
