The Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made the disclosure while fielding questions at the commission’s meeting with stakeholders, on Saturday in Abuja.

On whether the commission has enough fund should the elections be postponed again, Yakubu said that INEC was not complaining, adding that the commission do not intend to postpone any of the elections again.
On request that INEC should compensate political parties for the change in dates, Yakubu said that INEC did not finance parties.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomole, expressed displeasure that INEC waited till last few hour before announcing the postponement to Nigerians, demanding the apology of Yakubu to Nigerians and political parties.

An All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Sen. Bola Tinubu, has reacted to the attack on top party leaders in Ogun State during their campaign rally.

According to Daily Times, Tinubu said that the recent attack on the APC rally in Ogun was disrespectful to the office of the Nigerian President. Tinubu lamented in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media, Mr Tunde Rahman on Tuesday in Lagos, that the attack could have potentially harmed the person of the President. He was reacting to the APC rally in Ogun on Monday where some APC leaders were attacked.
”An incident did actually occur at the Ogun State APC rally, but it is not the one PDP has concocted. The true incident that should be reported and condemned is that people who oppose the party and the president tried to infiltrate and disrupt the rally. The attack by these operatives is disrespectful of the office of the president and could have potentially harmed the person of the president.”

“Such antics have no place in our political discourse. The author of these misdeeds should desist before real harm is done.”

Tinubu said he had no plans of leaving the party as being insinuated by some reports based on a video clip from the Ogun rally.

In the video, Tinubu was alleged to be seen throwing the party’s flag at the presidential rally.

He, however, accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of framing the video clip to mean that he was throwing away the party’s flag.

According to him, he remains ‘Gidigba’ (solid) in the governing party.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, says the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) should unite those from South East and South-South, who he refers to as “Biafrans”.
Naija News had reported earlier that the President suspended Onnoghen on Friday and immediately appointed Tanko Mohammed as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Giving reasons for his decision in his speech which was obtained by Naija News, the President said there was an order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, asking him to wield the big stick.
President Buhari said the order demanded that the CJN be suspended depending on the determination of his ongoing trial at the tribunal.

The midfielder became the focus of conflict at the start of the season, when, after being chosen as the World Cup’s player of the tournament and reaching the final with Croatia, he asked for an wage increase, taking advantage of the fact that Inter Milan were lurking. Madrid agreed to his demands but with the Croatian now 33 years old, the club seemed to have decided that Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen would be his long-time successor. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, has called on Bola Tinubu the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to be mindful of his choice of words.
Naija News reports that the opposition party was reacting to Tinubu’s remarks on Olusegun Obasanjo, following the former President’s public letter, in which he raised several allegations against President Muhammadu Buhari.
This online news medium had reported earlier that Tinubu, a former Lagos State Governor described Obasanjo as an “election rigger without peer” in a letter titled ‘Chief Obasanjo – At war against his own deeds’.
The former Governor also accused Obasanjo of being responsible for the flaws in Nigeria’s political economy since 1999.
Reacting in a statement issued by its National spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party said the former Governor was disrespectful and reckless in his comment against Obasanjo.
The statement said: “Tinubu in his tirade against the former President sounded like a disrobed ruler facing a pang of defeat as he watches his empire being legitimately taken.

Politics‘you’re An Election Rigger Without Peer’ — Tinubu Bombs Obasanjo In Open Letter by AdexUpdates(op): 3:57am On Jan 23, 2019
The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has described former president Olusegun Obasanjo as an “election rigger without peer”.
Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State also accused Obasanjo of being responsible for the flaws in Nigeria’s political economy since 1999.
Naija News reports that Obasanjo had in his state of the nation address tagged ‘Points for Concern and Action’, expressed concern over the impartiality and competence of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible election.
The elder statesman, who was Nigeria’s president from 1999 to 2007, had also accused President Muhammadu Buhari of returning the country to the Sani Abacha days.
Reacting to the criticisms, Tinubu said the former president is shameless and has a wicked sense of humour in a letter titled ‘Chief Obasanjo – At war against his own deeds’.
His words: “Former President Obasanjo is many things to many people, but he is all things unto himself. His recent contribution to our political discourse wherein he alleges plots to steer the coming elections shows he benefits from an exceedingly faulty memory, is purely shameless or has a most wicked sense of humour. Perhaps all three are facets of his makeup and were equally on display in his latest prosaic display.” the letter read in part.

Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress has said the former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s push to make President Muhammadu Buhari lose the presidential election holding next month will amount to nothing when the country goes to poll.

“He has carried himself about as the dispenser of our destiny and God is showing him clearly that he has just only been lucky and the favour that God has done to him he has considered them as the things that are coming from himself,” he added.
