Hello, I am in Calgary, no need for drivers extract in Alberta, your original drivers license will do as it shows the date of your first license issue. I did drivers extract before coming and it was a waste of money and time.

Interesting. Please share more details let's learn. I only provided my license in the same 2019. The driver's guide has details of the exchange agreement, and I don't think there's anything like abstract in there.

I want to say thank you to all the contributors on this page even though sometimes it's as if it's derailed. I have enjoyed reading from part 1 to this part. I have gotten so much information from mechanic to hairdresser to when to change your tyres and where to get a lot of things . Been reading since last Yr and it's been worthwhile. I've actually been waiting for some wonderful landing gists but so far it's as if no one has travelled recently or all the people getting ppr recently on other forums are not on nairaland.
Ok house pls I need some clarifications on my questions.
Has anyone landed in a different province for like a day or 2 before proceeding to another province for their 14 days quarantine.
I intend landing in January by God's grace with 2 teenagers and 2 under 10. I know the teenagers need to quarantine for 14 days since they aren't vaccinated. Now my concern is that I want to land in BC for like a day or 2 just to see my investor and pick up some few documents but I would love to settle in calgary. Will it be OK to put calgary address as their quarantine address even if I stay 2 days in a hotel in bc before moving to calgary or will that amount to violating any law. I wouldn't mind them staying the 14days in vancouver honestly, but we would be using their quarantine period to sort accommodation in calgary and getting school for them.

My second question is if we are still required to get the FRSC extract for drivers license in calgary. Not sure if this is what they call it. I still have other questions though will ask them later. Thank you.

Thank you but we are Muslims, she's in high school and unfortunately her school doesn't have any Nigerian there and other int'l kids have their own group. I know she'll sort it out but just wanted to help as mother hen concern.

she should look for any RCCG around her and join the teenage church. I believe their should be one not too far from her. That's a good start. Except you guys are not Christians. If she's an international student. I want to believe their should be other Nigerians in her school. Let her join the international students group. Even if they are not Nigerians she can connect with other international students.

I'm sure a lot of people did not understand your initial write up. It wasn't clear at all. . I thought your passport is still with NIS. I want to assume others think so. You can actually send a mail to US embassy explaining all that has transpired and the outcome of the situation. Though you won't be able to attach any document. Check their website you'll see where you can send a mail to. They do read it and they take note. Write your passport no and application date of when the incident happened. Then reapply for visa and go with all your evidence and any letter from immigration. Goodluck.

I think you should get a good Lawyer to help you out. Sometimes all these issues can be easily resolved by people who know what the law says regarding such situations. At least to clear your name so it doesn't affect you when you want to reapply for another passport or when travelling out of Nigeria later. The lawyer will make sure your name is cleared and I believe a written signed and stamped legal document from NIS clearing you of any wrong doing should be given to you. That is if what you say is the way it is. You should go the legal way. If it was before it wouldn't have mattered much but with the way things are going now you never can tell whats written against your name in their system. CLEAR YOUR NAME THE LEGAL WAY.

Not another pfl o. The first one was only a message that i was owing them 235 cad and i repaid and explained only to get an official PFL 12 days later. Worked on the letter and added proof and i want to know the right channel to submit it the letter.

for you to reply a pfl you need a lawyer's guidance. And you should notarize it before you send it. Sending you an official pfl means the officer might be thinking of giving you a ban. You should get a lawyer to help you with an appropriate reply and should be notarized before sending it. I hope you haven't replied .

You re-paid the application fee right? And sent an explanation too and they still slammed you with another PFL. This is what happens when you respond to PFL without professional guidance. In all I hope you sort it out soonest. The gurus here will help you.

I have a concern... I am a permanent residence applicant (family class), I gave gotten passport request, I have sent my passport to VFS Abuja since 15th Sept and up till this moment I haven't got a reply. I have raised a webform to inquire still NOTHING


Does anyone know how long it takes to stamp Permanent Residence visa on passport? I am a bit curious as this is over 24 working days now.

the IRCC website didn't list any. But I know designated organisations are not interested in any real estate business. It just has to be a business idea they believe will be profitable. I know they support lots of Apps developers. Try and go through the IRCC website and read more about the designated organisations under start up. There are lots of them.

Can you shed more light on the start up visa. If you don't mind. I think you are the first person scaling this route on this thread.

I don't mind at all. But its not an easy route and it involves a little bit of money. Honestly if you are still like 38 and below. Just do all you can either by getting extra degree, doing some courses learning French self if possible to be a candidate for express entry or pnp. So on the website it's written in a very simple English. And in my mind I'm like ok all I need to do is write a business idea that is unique and viable and get some designated organisations to buy into it. Na lie oo. I know people on my start up group who submitted to more than 50 organisations and they didn't even get any reply at all.
The maximum mark my husband and I could achieve was 420ish. My hubby just turned 40 when we decided to do canadian moves. And I haven't worked a regular job in 15 yrs so no corporate experience on my part. I'v always been my own boss. I thought we had all it takes but even with good English and all we couldn't meet up to point. We spoke with a Canadian immigration lawyer who gave us options. From the discussion they told us what I do can actually be used as a biz in canada. All I need to do was put it on paper. And that was what I did. They streamlined the designated organisations that focuses on my area of expertise and also helped by highlighting some points in my plan. After 7 months of trying we got an Angel investor who was interested and needed to understand it more. He gave us a letter of support in October 2019 and we submitted our application on 28th Dec. We paid lawyers fees in drawing out agreement and we also incorporated the company in canada and did some little work here and there. Quite a no of Indian guys on my group got their letter of support from incubators and I know they charge them between 20 to 50k dollars for office space, some administrative costs and even legal fees for drawing up agreements and so on. Its not cheap honestly.

i know right. When their is a will, their will always be a way. Wasn't an easy route but was the easiest for me with the grace of God.

Finally oo!!! To God be the glory. PPR came today. . Its been a very long journey. Express entry didn't work out. Student visa was refused. But God made a way. Start up visa. Submitted dec 28 2019. aor 2nd Jan 2020.

thanks so much. I thought as much. The immigration guy at Abeokuta I spoke with this morning already told me.I was even told they don't have booklet for now. Only ph has. My prayer is for the NIN to drop however today/tomorrow so they can do express for her.

hi, don't really no much about doing it yourself. I've always paid an officer to get it done. I just give them details or the passport I'm renewing.. my son renewed his own last Yr and it looked so different from all the previous ones. That was how I got to know its the new e passport. Maybe others can help you out.

Hello everyone, please I need help. Not sure if its the right place to post it but I'm hoping one or two people might have experienced same. My daughter did her NIN since 22nd of July and passport office kept telling me her number hasn't dropped on their site. But NIN office insisted everything is OK. Please is there anyone who has experienced such and pls how did you solve this issue. Thank you

You can say that again honestly. Our application was received Jan 2020 and then an address followed in aug. Its been a long wait. Everyone I know who has submitted an application is frustrated. Even those waiting for ITA. You can't touch your money, you can't do a whole lot of things because you never know when they'll start processing for outland again. Its as if your life is on hold. Ko easy at all waiting for this ppr.
