NSCDC and NIS use Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure (CONPASS). Level 08 step 2 (ASC for NSCDC or ASI for NIS) earns above N120,000 monthly. Ministry of Foreign Affairs use Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure which is the poorest of all salary structures presently. Monthly take home shiuld be roughly N50,000+ after all deductions. However, there are a lot of incentives in Foreign Affairs especially for senior officers starting from Level 08.
Rumpelstiltskin:
you still dont get my point but there is no need to dwell on that. I'll send you an email.

Mine was an assumption.
What I did was open my documents and get a screen grab of the page. Then I export to paint and reduce the size using paint.
I was concerned that it would be too small also. However when I did the final print out, after submission, I realized my passport photo was clear enough even after reducing critically to 20kb. So I simply assumed it will be same for other documents.
But they need to be aware that jpeg of 20kb is very small. Infact it is more of a thumbnail of the documents.
With regards to the NPC thing, I am currently in France and just completed my masters program under the Total International Masters Scholarship in the University of Toulouse. As a matter of fact today was my graduation for my Msc. in Safety Engineering that was why I did not reply on time. I am not in Nigeria to get the NPC birth certificate thing, so instead I risked using my affidavit for this part. I have no NPC birth certificate. I risked using my affidavit and submitted the application that way. Better than not submitting at all.
But you are available in Nigeria and like someone suggested go to NPC and get yours.
Congrat bro. I wish know to know d best country u will advise me to choose in terms of easy of learning and understanding of the language

I think this was part of the problem. Candidates were not selected based on their own merits / what they could offer.

P.S. - Ignore the insults and abuses people are throwing, unfortunately that is the case with Nairaland these days.
Thats d point dear. op cud av say most referred applicant are dullard...simple

Preparing bullet responses is a very very good thing, but one has to be careful not to be thrown off course.
I went for a final interview in a company having prepared for all the usual questions and had my responses down pat. The interview was going so well as all the questions they were asking were the ones I had prepared for, until one lady on the panel asked me "tell us about a time you had a disagreement with your boss or superior, and how did you handle it"
The question was so left field that I was momentarily stunned. I had been answering all their questions rapidly and confidently, but suddenly I was speechless....so the panel took note of it. Funny thing was, I had very valid, real-life answers to that question but my brain just wasn't booting. I had gotten into such a great rhythm trotting out my already prepared responses that the first unexpected question just made me go blank.
I finally told the panel that I couldn't remember any event as such. The Lady said she was willing to give me five minutes to think of one of such events but I mustered courage and told her that since I couldnt remember one, I would rather not formulate a story just to answer the question". I honestly thought that was the end of the interview, but surprisingly they all laughed and said they also wouldn't want me to formulate stories for them.
Now my point is, when preparing bullet responses to the usual interview questions, don't get so caught up in it during the interview itself because you might just get a question that is completely outside what you prepared for.
I got a success mail from that interview but I learnt a more valuable lesson .
woww!!!. what an interesting, inspiring and educative post
av learnt alot but wish to learn more. nairaland wont jst permit me to send u (bosses) pm however sirs, my email is adeyinka1919@gmail.will like to send u a mail. Thanks and God bless u Sirs
