bb4522: Hello, as you are applying for jobs in Nigeria, let give you my own advice. For you to be first class in chemical engineering..hats off and congratulations. My advice would be for you to apply for scholarship outside Nigeria in either Australia, US or Canada. The chances of you getting it is high. I am very positive about this. This will set the ball rolling for you. If you're on twitter, Here are few handles that can help.....@tundeTASH, @MomentsWithBren, @OgbeniDipo, and @Zuby215. All the best. thank you so much sir. Life haven't been rosy after service but I'd just do as you advise. Thanks for warming my heart sir. You wouldn't know how depressed I've been this days. May you find favour too sir. Gracias |

It was difficult getting across to the top management of my church. I attend Redeemed Christian Church of God. Please guys, can you enlighten us on how you got your recommendation letters. Maybe I should add that I am also bitter about the bureaucracy involved seeing top church leaders in most Nigerian churches once you Need help. Do we really need to pass through this. |

So I took the risk and trusted donparosky for 200 kegs of palm oil. It wasn't easy when he insisted on full payment but I did it without the consent of my hubby. Yesterday my goods were delivered sound and top quality. I know I would have come here to also complain if I did not get it so in the same way am saying thank you Uncle donparosky for the good works. Now I believe they are good and trustworthy businessmen here. God bless you sir. |

Spark2: One of the schools I chosed on Friday sent me an email to send them a scanned copy of language proficiency certificate issued by my previous university proving that my undergraduate study was in English Language. The mail pointed that I should send this before 30th may, 2019.. few days away from now... I have contacted the school i graduated from (Unijos) and my application for the language certificate will be dropped in the school to the Registrar tomorrow. I pray it works ..

So today a friend of mine lost a job in a multinational company. He successfully scaled trough the rigorous test and was flushed out during the interview stage due to what the panel tagged impossible claim on his cv.
We understand the unrealistic age demand by employers nowadays in naija.
So am creating this thread for Nairalnders to share their experiences and the age they finished secondary school.
I'd also love to ask, what is the minimum age one can finish secondary school in Nigeria. I heard some people saying its possible at 13
Doesn't that look suspicious to employers? Let's share our experience Cc: Richiez fynestboi Lalastica |

I have been reading all suggestions here and am grateful to everyone who took out time to advise. I am making preparations to register for IETLS and GRE. Am thinking of applying to schools in Australia, US, and other European countries. I have just a million naira to be candid and am hoping to judiciously use it for processing of visa and other things. Am trusting God for full tuition or scholarships from one of the schools I'd be applying based on my credentials. Am grateful to everyone and am still open to suggestions. Thank you. |

Olalekank: First off, welcome here.
1. Many schools offer funding but you need to research that yourself. Google the exact string you have in question 1 and you'd be shocked with the number of schools that offer such.
2. Many schools waive GRE for MSC but for a PhD and to get a relatively higher chance of funding, the general cliche is to write the GRE and bag a high score. There's a thread for GRE on the education section.
3. TOEFL is preferred but, many schools waive it for Nigeria now.
4. Yes, you can stay behind, depending on you. Thank you sir. Am doing just as you advised. |

Ugoerico: please never try visit visa migration with these harnessable qualifications you have! Let me guide you more. Its true that unfortunately you have no work experience which is a factor, however you are extremely trainable and can still sell yourself to companies abroad.. Listen prepare a short vedio CV and a softcopy CV, please lay emphasises on what you have done or can perform with these trainings, relate it to the individual companies' operations, this means you need customised CVs for each company... Do that massively, especially for German, Canada(skilked labour is hardly enough here).. Good luck.. There must be rewards for distinguishing yourself in academic and professional endeavours...look for them Thank you sir. I must confess you've been a blessing with this tips. Am happy the internet doesn't forget, so I'd share this someday again. Am really grateful sir |

Good morning everyone, I am new here. Please forgive me if my questions sound stupid. I am in my late twenties with a First Class degree in chemical engineering. (,4.57) CGPA. I was told I could get PHD with funding in the US. I want to major in renewable/sustainable energy My questions are : 1. Which schools in the US would offer such with full funding 2. Do I need to write GRE 3.which between TOFEL/IETLS is widely acceptable as I don't want to limit my search to US alone 4. Lastly but most importantly, can I stay back in the US after studies. Thanks in anticipation of your response |

Ugoerico: yeah it's a pity the damage the strike and system entirely are causing people...I am happy you are resuming the scouting...do more ok, day and night..try www.DAAD.de opportunities there are much..yes I share you stark resolve to leave the so called country, but I would not like you to follow the visit visa route and end up suffering with your first class... That's why you should exhaust all academic possibilities. May I ask rada softly...do u have any skill outside your degree? Skills relating to your discipline, either in terms of certification or training course? thanks a million sir. Really not much but HSE certifications. Also did few professional courses on Aspen Hysis, CHEMCAD etc. Started Database (OCA) with AFRIHUB but yet to write the professional exams. |
