He is not saying that Zenith bank favors only Agbor guys, he is saying that Agbor guys are the majority in the bank's branches. This I know to be true as I worked with Zenith bank. This does not mean that Zenith bank does not employ anyone else. Please read statements carefully before you attack them. Kay-Dee: |
From my personal experience, there is tribalism in some banks when they recruit for some major departments. For instance, I worked with Zenith Bank for about 1.5 years in the C&T unit. Though I was approved by an interview committee, The Head of HR and the Company Secretary to work in the Legal Department, I had to meet with Jim Ovia in person and he turned me down without interviewing me. I am a Yoruba guy. Meanwhile, the Igbo guy that was gunning for the same position got the job. This was despite the fact that the legal department needed both our services. Now I'm sure there might be other explanations for this, but nothing else makes sense to me. Also, in general, Zenith bank has a lot of staff from Delta State. Well, that is my contribution to this discussion, no one should crucify me abeg. |
You know what, the world would be a lot easier if a lot of things were not termed as "sin." I mean, I wish masturbation was not a sin, then I won't have to feel guilty all the time (lol). But then again, maybe he should have gone further and state when masturbation becomes a sin (if ever). As in, is it a sin when you do not use a lubricant, when u think of sexual acts, when u watch porn while doing it, when u look at a nude picture, when u jerk off with a friend, etc? Does it ever become a sin? But guys, it is what it is. The Bible ends in Revelation, for good reasons. Pastor Chris (or any other man of God by any name called) has no right to add to it. Like I said, it is what it is! Gush, what are we gonna hear next? smh |
Ok, I dont know if anyone has mentioned these, but I currently use 2 perfumes and being a perfume addict, I make it bold to say that they are about the best smelling male fragrances out there. (1) Le Male by John Paul Gaultier (For Day) (2) One Million by Paco Rabanne (For Night) PS: The One by Dolce and Gabbana is also quite good. But seriously, you guys should try Le Male out and see for urselves. Its heavenly! |
I forgot to add some stuffs in my earlier post: (1) As for wrist watches, though its a matter of personal taste, I think bold leader straps look way better than chain straps. Its a lot more classy and manly. But just in case u wanna do chain, pls do silver. Gold wrist watches on men. ewwww! (2) If ur gonna wear scarfs, it shld be for a reason. Don't just wear scarves just because! Also, 9ja is a hot place, choose light scarves. Dont go all winter on me! Personally, I LOVE scarves. If you can affored it, invest in a cool classic Burberry scarf. It never goes out of fashion, plus it always adds that extra smth to ur look. (3) Shades indoors is a BIG NO NO. Under no circumstance shld u wear dark shades indoors. No matter ur reason! Pls, thats so wrong!!!!!!! Nigerian guys are fund of doing this and its just a reflection of ur exposure level. Also, we all have different facial structures. If ur gonna wear glasses (this includes prescription glasses), make sure they fit ur facial structure. Go online and do some research b4 going to pick up ur frames. If u got an oval face liek me, u might wanna get harzel nut shaped frames (see pix below) (4) Designer does not mean that it looks good on u. So, don't be all Gucci et al on me. Buy what fits. Most guys think that the fact that they are wearing expensive stuffs made by disigners mean that they look good. NO! Ur closet shld be well defined! Strike a balance btw expensive stuffs and cheap stuffs that look good on u. ALso, the fact that the dress item was brought for u from "abroad" does nto mean that it is good. Trust me, theer are a lot of tacky stuffs abroad! Also, made in China does not mean that it is fake. Most designers produce their outfits in asian countries to reduce the cost of producton. Here's another picture of me in a fitted blue shirt and light blue denim. Notice the sleek belt! Regards!

OMG, WHERE DO I START FROM. First of all, we guys always make a general fashion mistake: we always wear cloths that are about 2 sizes bigger than us. Hey, its the 21st century, dont be scared to look sexy, no one would call you gay! So guys, wear cloths that suit ur body. It must not hug u (thats tacky!), but it should be perfect, just ur size. It shld follow ur body (if you get what I mean). Also, be bold! If u wanna be trendy, u gotta be bold and confident in ur self. Loose some weight if u need to and be out there an din ur face. U dont have to be matchy matchy: go thru ur closet and pair seperate pieces together. Every guy needs some denims. And pls, lets drop those baggys. Grow up! A guy without at least 3 GOOD PAIRS of jeans is like a lady without a little black dress. Its a no no! We Nigerian men have to learn how to pair jeans with shirts. Its not a crime! My best look: Blues fitted jeans, a slim fit dress shirt (tucked in), and a fitted blazer to match, and some cool sneakers. You have to be really tacky not to pull this look. Also guys, accessorize! Invest in an expensive wrist watch. Get good shoes. A chain, wrist-let, a bold ring. JUST DO IT ALREADY! It is not a sin for a guy to look hot! Fashion and dressing up isnt meant for ladies alone. I have attched a pic of me. I was all drressed up for a dinner! Regards.

Well, I live in Canada and I can confidently tell you that most of the black guys you see with fat white chicks are doing it so they can get their immigration papers. Most of these FWC (fat white chicks) have low self esteem cos society has told them that fat isn't sexy, healthy or desirable. Thus when they see a black guy (and btw, black guys are considered to be hot) tripping for them and treating them with respect, they fall hopelessly for them. Meanwhile, our black gusy know the scope and play the game well. Thats the koko. Any other explanation any body else gives in just secondary! Thats the real deal! |
O boi ye, this woman na Ninja! She-goat! |

This is simply ridiculous and uncalled for. If at all the picture tells a true story, as a 9ja babe, she would have made arrangements to change somewhere before writing the test. That gown is easy to slip in and out of. She is just a bloody attention seeker and I doubt if she passed the test because people who are serious don't behave foolishly. So what if she is getting married, would she be the first to get married? This has nothing to do with poverty. Abeg, I dey vex, |
Not being a medical practitioner nor a herb specialist, I would be the least qualified to give an opinion as to the authenticity of the above procedures and subsequent births. Also, as a Christian. I believe in miracles and the ability of God to do the impossible. In addition, as a young adult, I am also not ignorant of the extents to which men go in order to gain material security, such extends are sometimes camouflaged under the guise of miracles in order to win the acceptance/sympathy of the public. A word of wisdom though, we should not be quick to give validity to an action simply because it is tagged as a miracle. We do not ask questions in Nigeria. Someone who questions a miracle is quickly christened a pagan. Adopt a free mind. Analyse data/info u are fed with. Analyse critically. Think! Only then can we make head way as a people. So I say kudos to CHRISBENOGOR for daring to think. His conclusions might be right or wrong. Its not for me to say. But he taught! |

Its just interesting to see how the focus of religion changes with time. A possible explanation for this might be that the scriptures are becoming clearer with each passing year. As a young xtian, I was only told I needed to pay my tithe and offering to God (which I still do). Now, 1st fruit has been added to the list of financial obligations. And u know what, its clearly provided for in scriptures. But we live in changing times. What exactly is a first fruit? January's salary, 1st salary from a new job? How does the business woman in Oshodi calculate her 1st fruit: her 1st customer for the year? Well, there are some questions that we might never find answers to. My thots on the matter however is that each man should read his Bible and pray to God for clearer understanding. Truth be told, the gospel has been used for ages as a tool of manipulation. Be that as it may, it still contains basic truths and a wise man is one who pays heed to its directives. A final word: do not be forced by ur pastor (or whatever u call ur spiritual leader) into paying any 1st fruit (or any form of financial/equitable donation). Giving must be made joyfully and willingly. The lack of these in any form of giving to God negates its purpose. Also, people should not be scared to ask questions and seek out truths for themselves. For without knowledge as the Bible says, perishing is inevitable. |
I happened to have watch this movie, and seriously, there isn't anything sexual or offensive about it. No nudity, no nothing! So unless a movie with a gay theme is outrightly deemed offensive, I donno was up with the ban. dominique:Brokeback Mountain wasn't shown in Nigerian Cinemas. Was it? So I do not see the relevance of bringing it up here. |
@Papa190, get a life and leave the poster alone. Pesin bin start topic u come dey bring fight from another post reach here. If in get gay bf nko? U sef wan follow shake nyash? Abi pesin stop u sef from getting ur own bf? As ur body dey hot hot so, e just show sef say na gay u be. Very irritating pesin! Hissssssssss. ![]() |
Madam, the title of ur post is very misleading. You were not sacked because u were a lesbian. U were sacked because u refused to exercise discretion and presented urself as a threat to ur boss. I arn't gonna get into the argument of whether or not lesbianism is wrong. But being that it is not an accepted way of life in the Nigerian system, what on earth were u doing kissing and loving in a garden? Cldn't u have kept ur biz on the down low especially since ur madam had smelled a rat? But no, till una enter garden raw raw ur body for no cool down. Secondly, ur boss had every right to fire you. As a mother, she had a duty to protect her daughter and if she felt u were a bad influence, u had to go. Simple. If I catch my son making love with my male employee, I go fire am. No long tori for that one. Thirdly, contracts of employment are at the absolute discretion of both parties. Ur boss cld fire u for no reason at all if she wanted to. Moral of the story, know where u are (Nigeria) and tame ur wild horses. Love ya. |
Well, evryone is entitled to his/her own opinion on the matter (thats why its kinda like an opinion poll). Be that as it may, I think (for guys who are not gays and haven't got an inside view of what it means to be one) such guys shld carry out some research and get to know what it means to be gay. That way, your condemnation wld be informed. Also, u wld be better able to build up your arguments (or hatred). My view, homosexuality shld by no means be legalized as it is against our (Nigerian) culture. When/if we develop to a "san Fransisco" that wld be a totally different ball game. The practice seems somewhat crude and debases men (makes them passive). It is, as we say it "against the order of nature." Dont get me started on religion cos its a no no there. Shld they be allowed to get married? Certainly not cos that wld lead to a lot of legal complications (adoption, custody, inheritance). Marriage is a union btw opposite sexes: a union instituted by God. But be that as it may, violence/hatred is not the key. It myt just surprise you to know that the correct emotion shld be pity/support/encouragement/love. Lets put it this way, do you think a man who is "properly wired" (in all intents of the word) wld leave a woman in all her loveliness and choose to rob bones with another man OR choose to endure anal pain amidst a very judgmental society and expectant family? Do u think a guy likes the idea that he myt never be able to get married or father kids because he can't get erect by a woman? Do u think a man wld grow up and decide "no, I am tied of women. I wanna start doing guys"? Do u think effeminate guys enjoy being verbally and physically abused when they walk on the street? If u arnt gay, be thankful. Stay away from them (if u wish). Let them know their boundaries when it comes to you. Dont give mixed "signals." Being gay does not make any one less of a person. In fact, most of the brilliant and exceptional guys out there (u know, that guy u look at and wish you cld be like) are gays. Most of our "idols" (actors, musicians, fashion designers) are either gays or are in close proximity to them. Hell, some of the greatest condemners (u know, the ones who use the harshest words) on this post might be gays. The guy next to u (your brother, best friend, husband, father) myt be gay. You never know. if today I find out that my brother is gay, wld it make him any less my brother? NO! Guys, think! |
Leviticus 19:28, "'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD." The years of ignorance the Lord would ignore. |
Well, in as much as I would not want to dignify this discussion with my impute being that the poster does not seek knowledge but faults, I however would like to make one point: THE BIBLE SHOULD BE READ IN CONTEXT. |
There is a certain amount of "dirtiness" that is expected from a guy. I call it the dirt that makes a guy possible. When a guy gets too clean and unruffled, one needs to take a closer look. Does the term "gay" ring a bell? Haven said the above, cleanliness should be encouraged for both sexes. |
Finecat:Finecat, I dont know where all this anger and agression is coming from. I also mdo not know why I have now become an airhead simply for airing my views. Anyone who read my comments wld see that I did a fair comparative analysis btw the two banks. And I still stand by all I said. As per PHB salary scale, I do not care about who owns the bank or how that person is able to afford the salary he pays. All I do know is that at the end of each month I get paid my due as and when due. The take home of entry level staffs in close to 3.4. As at today, that amount still stands. I cannot say about tomorrow. The same goes for the other entitlements and the N165k quarterly. So oga, cool down. Direct ur frustrations elsewhere ok. Abi watin una talk? |
Hi, After reading the various comments on this topic, including mine which I posted some time ago, I am forced to make an additional impute. I used to work with Zenith but am now with PHB. So I think I shld be in a position to do a comparative analysis of the two financial institutions and advice accordingly. I am however not ignorant of the fact that the initiator of this topic must have made a decision by now. But I'd still go ahead with my imputes for the benefit of future readers who might find themselves in the same dilemma. Making a choice between Zenith and PHB would actually depend on what you want as a career person. Both of the institutions have their challenges and strenghts. As for Zenith, there is this new status of ET via which you have to start as a graduate intake. The pay in that level sucks (N1,020,000.00 pa). Its a flat rate and you are not entitled to anything else cept for 30k medicals. NO PS, no 13th mth, no leave allowance (no leave), no ticket allowance, NOTHING. You also would be there for a yr b4 bcoming an EA, subject to your scoring a B+ in ur appraisals. Now there are rumours (which I am yet to confirm) that some guys are more than a yr as ETs, have been confirmed, but are yet to be promoted. Thus, starting with Zenith makes you at least 1yr behind in ur banking career. But in PHB on the other hand, you enter as an EA and earn a whooping 3.4 pa. There are also other benefits attached to you as a staff. You have an unlimited health cover in choice health institutions. Your spouse gets to earn 20k per mth for doing nothing other than being ur spouse. You have a lot of loan facities at ur disposal (smth Zenith wld never dream of giving you). Every 3 mths, you earn ur quarterly which is about 165k (apart from ur salary). You get confirmed after 6mths unlike Zenith's 1yr and you can go on leave within ur 1st yr on the job. et cetera. It is however not in doubt that Zenith has a stronger brand than PHB. As a Zenith staff, I used to stand tall everywhere I went. There is smth about the brand that stands them out. But PHB is going smthwhere. They ahve not yet attained, but they have a bright (VERY BRIGHT) future ahead of them. Also, Zenith has a more established system. There might be so much talk about salaries being based on performance in PHB, but there are guaranteed sums. Besides, you shld have no problem with that if you are hard working. After all, shldn't we all earn our salaries? A short coming however of PHB is that they do not have a lot of staffs per unit as the case is in Zenith. So, there is a lot of responsilbility placed on individual staffs. There is also the issue of job security. It is widely believed that Zenith staffs have greater job securities than PHB staffs. BUt in the final analysis, it is God that safe-guards our jobs. So, there you have it. THE CHOICE STILL REMAINS URS. |
