WHICH GHADAFFI? THE ONE THAT IS INSIDE GRAVE?

Nigeria has advised migrants to avoid Libya where penalty for illegal migration attracts death penalty.
The office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora made the appeal on Sunday.
Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the SSA to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, is appalled that in spite of the mistreatment and killings of blacks Nigerian migrants still use Libya.
Over 140 migrants and refugees, mainly from Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and Sierra Leone
“I hereby appeal again to Nigerian migrants to avoid Libya as penalty for illegal migration to Libya, when caught, is usually a death sentence.’’
She referred to a trending video, which though had not been authenticated, showing pictures purported killing of black immigrants in Libya.
“ While the authenticity of the pictures and tapes in question cannot be verified, it is a known fact that Libya has been executing alleged black illegal immigrants for years.
“As the Chairman Committee on Diaspora in the House of Representatives in the Seventh Assembly, we intervened in the case of 24 Nigerians about to be killed in Libya.
“The Committee, in collaboration with SERAP, an NGO, petitioned the UN, AU, ECOWAS, and Ghadaffi yielded to pressure and released them.’’
Two months ago, she said the NEMA in collaboration with the Nigerian Embassy in Libya, evacuated over 2000 Nigerians from Libya.

“The Nigerian embassy in Libya, working with NEMA has relentlessly intervened in cases involving Nigerians in trouble in Libya and will continue to do so.
She said that Libyans were dealing with their own struggles as there was no recognised government in place.
Nigerians, she warned, should avoid Libya.

Business / Re: FG Raises Import Duties On Luxury Goods, Food Items That Have Local Alternatives by adisarasaq(m): 9:51am On Jan 03, 2017
malele:
The Federal Government has raised duties on luxury goods such as yachts and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) imported into the country.

The increase contained in a circular by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun to the Nigeria Customs Service.

Also affected are some food items that have local alternatives such as rice, salt and sugarcane, alcoholic spirit, beverages.

Import duty for sugar cane and salt will go from 10 per cent to 70 per cent; alcoholic spirit, beverages and tobacco from 20 per cent to 60 per cent; and rice from 10 per cent to 60 per cent.
Also included on the list are packaged cement, from 10 per cent to 50 per cent; cotton/ fabrics materials, from 35 per cent to 45 per cent; and used cars popular known as Tokunbo, from 10 per cent to 35 per cent respectively.
Medicaments such as anti-malarials and antibiotics; crude palm oil; wheat flour; tomatoes paste; and cassava products are also affected in the upward review of duties. But essential industrial sector accessories, including bolt, industrial oil and other equipment are to enjoy a downward review to spur local industrialisation.
According to the Finance Minister, President Buhari has already approved the new tariff regime. The circular reads in part:

"This is to confirm that Mr. President has approved the 2016 fiscal policy measures made up of the Supplementary Protection Measures (SPM) for implementation together with the ECOWAS CET 2015 – 2019 with effect from 17th October, 2016."Consequently, all transactions prior to the effective date of this circular shall be subjected to the tariff rates applicable before the coming into effect of this 2016 fiscal policy measures."
It added that the approved SPM was in line with the provision of the ECOWAS CET comprising the following:
“An Import Adjustment Tax (IAT) list with additional taxes on 173 tariff lines of the extant ECOWAS CET; national list consisting of items with reduced import duty rates to promote and encourage development in critical sectors of the economy; an import prohibition list (Trade), applicable only to certain goods originating from non-ECOWAS member states."
Adeosun declared that the current fiscal policy measures superseded those of 2015, and advised the customs and other stakeholders to ensure strict compliance.

Tariff for imported vehicles has been 35% since 2015, I don't think this information is correct.

Thanks.

My Ogas in the house, I hail o.

I went to Ojota market concerning mold for my bar soap and this is what i got. (pictures below)

It is made from the same material use for baking pan and contained 50pcs.

It's in two sizes but I don't know the size.

The man said the small one is the same size with B29 soap and it will cost 4,500 Naira.

My question now is - is this the right one? Is the price ok?

@Strongbest @Blessedqueen, please your attention is needed.

Politics / Re: Buhari Bans Importation Of Vehicles Through Land Borders,Nigerians React(Pics) by adisarasaq(m): 9:11pm On Dec 05, 2016
The truth is that it cost more to bring in vehicles in to the country through Benin Republic if you want to do legit business, because you have to pay double import duty.

You will pay to their government first then before you cross the border you have to pay to Nigeria government too the same amount paid at Tin-can port.

But Nigerians are very smart (in negative ways) once we pay to Benin Republic, we are not ready to pay to our own country so we engage in smuggling.

As a responsible citizen, it makes a lot of sense to import through our ports.

Ever wonder why car dealers will do anything to assure you that their car is Lagos cleared even if it was smuggled? Because that's what genuine buyers want.

Nice attempt Sir. You've done really well.

Concerning the mold, you can get the locally made ones. The cutter is locally constructed along with the mold.

I think I have posted some pictures of my mold somewhere here. Don't know the page exactly, maybe you should flip through the pages of the thread to check them out.

Thanks.

Thank you sir for the word of encouragement.

Still on the mold, please any recommendations who/where i can go to get the locally made one?

Happy weekend everyone.

Oga @Strongbest i hail o.

Here's my first production, i think it came out nicely.

The issue now is how to get mould for commercial production, cutting and idea cutting measurements for the soap.

I also noticed that i use more of PKO and it's the most expensive I'm afraid if it's going to be profitable.

In all, it's a good experiment and experience.

It's not really necessary going through all the stress just to register a domain name, when we have many indigenous registrar that can do that for you. With /WhoGoHost, you can buy any domain of your choice any time. After you have completed your order with them just walk in to any branch of their bank to make deposit or pay with your ATM card.
