God bless you! aresa: What's the difference between what we are spending and what other countries are spending on 1000MW. For 1125 MW, we are actually getting a good deal for our money.
The going rate for 1000MW is $1 billion.
Even the so called 22.500MW $22 billion largest damn you quoted = $1 billion per 1000 MW.
Do a little elementary arithmetic before spewing rubbish and even a little research before spewing ignorance on the internet. Hate and bitterness can not stop us. |

You may think your comments is so on point but you know nothing about what you just commented on.
The Government is not the one dolling out $1.75billion but the investors. All Government will do is to buy the power they produce per kilowatt, that's how the investor will get their money back over a 20years period.
Learn to research about stuff.sammydemperor: smh...
is it that we lack understanding or the will power to make effective change
For God sakes who builds a 1125 MW plant with $1.75 billion?
You guys may see it as progress, but damn how much do you really know about power generation, its not about the number of stations, rather the capacity. These plants will not be able to deliver up to 45% of their rated capacity to the Grid...
the largest dam in world was built at a cost of $22.5 billion and it generates 22,500 MW of electricity, spare me all the bullshit of littering the whole country with mini-power plants...
build something tangible, power generation is not rocket science all it takes is just some level of responsiveness to the plight of your people
this is how they will keep on taking us for granted, if we just take anything they bring to our table without us questioning them
so much for change... |

I respect your opinion and you have a point but stealing from politicians is also stealing innit? armadeo: I disagree.
There should be no reason for theft. The person he stole from did she steal to buy the power bank. Do you know if she got it on credit. He should steal from the politicians we would hail him.
Truth be told the entire system has failed us. |

They just like wasting money on things that wouldn't benefit their States. What are they learning in Germany that can not be learnt in Nigeria?
I am very sure Germany will not deny them Visas since the German Ambassadors knows his country will benefit hugely financially. |

I was angry with the thief when I saw this topic but after reading the story, I am angry with the mob.
A man in his 50s stealing a power bank shows that's a sign of extreme poverty. The man needs help and not beatings.
Btw: Politicians keep stealing left, right and center. Money meant for the development of our country that could have also been used to take care of the elderly. |

This is a time for Governor's to be creative. They need to brainstorm on ways to generate money for their states as a lot of investors are out there; seeking an enabling environment to invest in.
This is not time to be eating amala all over the state or setting people up. |

Phew! First To Comment (FTC) That was fastest fingers thingy!
My comments on the topic:
The king sat in his silver bathtub one morning And he realised, as he soaked in the soft bubbles That you can not rule your kingdom from a silver bathtub
So he did what any other king in a silver bathtub would do- He got out.
Looking down, he realized that he was standing on his silver rug And as he dried his arms, he considered that perhaps You cannot rule a kingdom from a silver bathroom rug
So he slowly stepped off of the rug, and watched the patterns of his feet Disappear into the silver carpet.
The king walked over to his window and looked over his kingdom. It lay below him, sparkling in all it's silver beauty And as he watched, it seemed to come alive with people Shining like silver in the warm sun
A tear rolled down his quietly down his cheek And he pondered that Maybe, just maybe Being a king is not all that they say it is |

Eventhough the way the DISCO's run their operation is nothing to write home about, what this man is saying is the truth.
The tariff we pay for electricity is one of the cheapest in the world and cheaper if we compare to how much we spend on diesel and petrol to power generators which is one of the highest in the world.
Nigerians don't have a problem paying high tariff but shouldn't have to pay for electricity they don't use. The DISCO's should start rolling out prepaid meter! That's the way to go!

One of the least detribalised Nigerian who is busy working for the unity of this country.
The same man who took Jonathan by hand to all Northern power blocks before the 2011 election that gave him the needed vote to win. GEJ thought money can buy respect, he learnt bitterly.
OBJ has his own flaws but the disunity of this country is not part of it eventhough he could have some more. |
