Oil pollution gradually wiping out Ijaw nation – Stakeholders

https://cdn.dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/oil-spill.jpg

MDG oil spill in Niger deltaThe people of Ijaw have again cried out over the effect of environmental degradation due to gas exploitation in their domain.

They say the zone is being gradually wiped off and that federal and states governments of affected areas must act fast in finding a lasting solution to the menace.

This is contained in a communique issued at the end of a two-day stakeholders’ workshop in Warri, Delta State.

http://dailypost.ng/2015/12/25/oil-pollution-gradually-wiping-out-ijaw-nation-stakeholders/?utm_source=dp_facebook&utm_medium=facebook
Some very big idiot Ijaw guy was arguing for the legalization of illegal refineries. He put so many words together in that silly Nigerian sense kind of way that almost made sense.
The question is why Nigerians think God made laws for mankind and separate ones from Nigerians. You cannot pollute your environment for short term monetary gains and not pay the price. It is your children and grandchildren that will. It is cancers, stunted growth, destroyed fishing ponds et.c
She'll has divested from the stupidity business of the Niger Delta, Jonathan and his clique have stolen their own it is now for people to use their brains and take good decisions. All the make shift refineries should be destroyed. All communities engaging in tapping into pipelines should be punished. The FG should deliberately develop new businies.lines for people in the oil producing communities as a matter of urgency. Agro-allied business lines, marine transport, marine security et.c

What do you mean by free USD20 billion from diaspora.. are you talking about Money Transfers or Direct Investment in critical sectors by Nigerians in Diaspora.. please educate me. this is interesting
Money transfers (remittances) into Nigeria from Nigerians working abroad is USD 20bn per year and increasing.
That is a lot of money coming in.
Nigerians multinationals like Dangote, UBA, Zenith and SLOK are also remitting.
If we stop looting and keeping the loots abroad this is a net inflow of foreign exchange and Naira value will appreciate on that alone.
If the FG uses special interest rates or certificates of deposits to target those funds we are looking at three times the current values. We would need to do that soon because the US and Europe are already trying to increase interest rates.

Yes India is going to grow but u re forgetting America re yet to commercialize their oil, Iran is there with Millions of Metric tones of crude re have stored since the Sanctions on them.

Saudi/UAE are ready to fall the crude price to expand its customer base which will not be favorable to Nigeria since our production cost is quite high..
I don't think Nigerian oil will ever sell below USD 35 a barrel.
We have medium term contracts based on some price band guarantees plus discounts with India, China and even some African countries. On the spot market, the price may touch USD 20 per barrel a few times but that does not mean much. ISIL is selling looted oil at USD10 per barrel but in the next one month all those fields would have been bombed out of operation.

Yes he actually diversified the economy or tried to. Local manufacturing was booming during Buhari regime with imports and smuggling completely curtailed. He also tried to keep the local currency stable and we were gradually paying all debts. Buhari 's policies are the kind of things making India successful now.

One interesting thing, all the current refined products infrastructure ; fuel pipelines, landing jetties, refineries and petrochemical plants were all done by military regimes ; Gowon, Murtala, Obj, Buhari /IBB with Buhari as petroleum minister and Head of state cumulatively 10years in sensitive position.. Nothing has been added since then by civilian regimes and Goodluck had six years selling oil at USD124 per barrel

Nigeria has free USD20bn coming every year from diaspora . Nigerians working abroad are now contributing more than oil for the first time in 50 years, so any stupid Niger Delta youth still shouting our oil, our oil should wise up real fast real hard.

This is the year to get out of the stupidity business. Laziness, corruption , slackness, lack of resourcefulness....they are being purged from us by God himself not Buhari.

"Buy one Barge get another Free"
The world has an addiction to oil. This period is like making the drug cheap enough to stimulate appetite and more addiction. The Chinese and Indian middle classes are still growing.

India in particular is growing to grow very fast and demand more oil after 2017. For now we should prepare for hard times and diversify our economy.

This is the stupidest statement in the world. There is no way a whole tribe would be tired of a country. The vocal minority is just trying to shove things down the throat of majoriy of Ibos.

Citizenship is not by force and has never been for INDIVIDUALS.

If truly the great majority of Ibos are tired of Nigeria there should have been a spike in the number of people renouncing Nigerian citizenship from that region.

You guys are just immature, shameless and poor losers who are grieving because the weak corrupt president was removed from office . You want to leave the field of play because you are four goals down.I have looked at this Biafra thing well all I see is death, retrogression and pain for all Ibos.

NNPC was being run in a very corrupt and unprofessional manner. The regime of the hapless Dr Clueless Jonathan and Dieziani only made things even worse. Maybe if the oil price was not so high during that regime things would have been done in a better way. The refineries we have now and their expansion potential can make Nigeria earn 6bn dollars a year.

Yes but there are extremely intelligent, free thinking, well adjusted people who have Goodluck Jonathan has role model.

That is a man who actually fought for nothing and achieved nothing. Everything thing credited to him was stolen from somebody else; either a president that died in office, a smart minister working under him, a fortnate oil price, or ecen conceding the elections which he actually copied from Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.
We have to accept people's role models as are their fundamental right and hope that as they mature , the list of role models become refinef

MindTwister:
A government must have a blueprint from whence it operates. It is not enough to administer serious units of our life wire via deadlines. Serious governments run as a system of interdependent parts and the reductionist approach taken by this APC led administration is only fit for governments in the 1920s/30s where everything worked mechanically. How can you draw efficiency from providing cut off dates? Efficiency is built within the core of a unit, the core of a system, and the reason why this strategy will fail is because, rather than deal with the core issues of inefficient management and probably dead wood facilities, we are encouraging cosmetic interventions designed to retain jobs and to give a semblance of things working.

2015, the year of the great deception is over. We agree that we have been mugged electorally. Can we allow 2016 to be different a bit please? No drama, no pictures, no international trips, no media trials just work, work, work.

After that Buhari our man can get a boo...coz even his boo....
I have seen very few projects run really effectively and efficiently. Don't blame Buhari for NNPC efficiency. That is a company that is at least 45 years old and has engineers and managers who have second degrees from major universities in the world. They are supposed to have a corporate strategy that runs independent of government and indeed they used to have in the 80s.
CORRUPTION IS THE PROBLEM.

Refinery Turnarounds are a project Management activity so stop talking about efficiency built into units. That is more operations phase discussion. Nigeria is lacking project management capabilities but over and above that you have corruption that has eaten up the place. When you have corruption you don't analyse , you sack which is what Kachikwu put them on notice for a few weeks ago. The refineries should be given to Indians to manage for a fee. There should be incentive to the Indian compaby for plant reliability and asset condition integrity which should be done by auditors every yeat.
All Nigerian managers and middle level officers should be fired. The strategic management of the refineries as "as external contract managed entities' portfolio should be done from HQ.
We need a more American attitude to business - demanding, efficient, direct, simplified and devoid of unnecessary verbiage going nowhere. Hire and Fire based on.performance.

Jonathan's regime brought about self sufficiency in agriculture cars etc industries

Buhari is just busy applying Indian style of cut cut cut of salaries and other financial benefits grin
Did you say self sufficiency?. Christ what kind of country is this?. Everybody a dummy. Nigeria is self sufficient in agriculture?... chei..I am getting really worried now.
Let me educate you, Jonathan left agriculture worse than he met it. He destroyed everything his minister put in place in 2015. We imported more rice than any country in Africa. The most pathetic was importation of palm oil. I can understand importing rice to bribe voters for elections but palm oil is pathetic.

Jonathan did better than Obj in supporting local assembly of cars under Jonathan and they really had a good plan because of a very good minister of trade but now everything is not so good ...please NigerIa is not even up to 5% in terms of self sufficiency. Infact I am beginning to think it was even Israel that nudged Russia on in Syria in order to balance things a little in Syria. Everything that happened or happens in Syria is at the subtle instance (or support) of Israel.

Did Fayose not have predictions when Jonathan was not investing our $124 barrel oil X 2million barrels a day earnings. That was a simple prediction to make then - "Jonathan is ruining the future for the youths" .Why did he not make the predictions then?

Did Fayose also predict that social security is coming for the first in this country.? That is the first time very poor people will enjoy the national cake in Nigeria

He is wrong on power. It has been privatised, the profit margins are good so companies will build power plants.

Agriculture will boom next year not because of government but because it is the only way out open for most people.

All the leakages in government will be plugged so the little wevmake will go a long way.

Please even if you hate Buhari, the North, APC and Yorubas or whatever, always be careful of charlatans like Fayose. He is an election rigger and he is using populist tricks to deceive young people in Ekiti State.

The APC led federal government is simply clueless, they should ask GEJ how he been doing it. sacking 1,100 in just a day is a very bad news for Nigerians.
He did nothing when oil was $124 a barrel and he would not have done anything when it is $38 a barrel. Jonathan's congenital slackness and cluelessness caused the problem . A whole Nigeria could not run refineries. In most of the west indies where oil is not produced, they run refineries. Even many African countries are running refineries. NNPC has the most corrupt staff in this country. They are not worried about the sack. Most of them are mult millionaires. They ran down their establishments and they should go.
Career › Re: NNPC Set To Sack 1,100 Staff by Adminisher: 11:52am On Dec 18, 2015
More NNPC workers should be sacked from the refining companies . The refineries should be handed over to Indians or Chinese to run, sell the products locally and pay the profits to the Federal Government. This country has degraded during the PDP era. There are refineries running successfully in Jamaica and even west African countries. The country is just dumb, slack, extremely corrupt and clueless.
