If our govt and regulatory authourities refuse to sanction dana and the people out of fear and timidity refuse to protest then at least we can vote with our money not to patronise them even if they are the cheapest... As a healthcare official , the doctor owes them a duty of care at least to stabilize her. Such wanton destruction of live by omission Of duty is tantamount to murder. This is Nigeria where people just talk , suffer and smile. Nigerian public is the most docile,inept, dull, stupid, selfish and foolish set of people . It pains me the few clique can hold to ranson 160 millio people or a gorvernor can sentence its people to so much suffering . I was at the computer village in ikeja on friday and I saw a long queue of about 2km constantly there from 10am when I arrived to 7pm when I left. They were waiting patiently (complaining though but doing nothing as usual) for the tricycles!! They were even fights over it . Govt. Is meant to serve us not to order us around without providing enough alternatives.
Back to our issue, I propose a name and shame blog where we post the name of the doctors that commit such kinds of crimes. It is not illegal and it is not defamatory. We will publish the doctors name, his hospital's name and address, victim's name and story .
This will alert nigerians to the kind of doctors he is and then nigerians will for once take action and not patronize them.
Some hospitals provide free medical care as part of their social responsibilty and also as a percentage of their gross revenue.
They should also be written on the page as well and rewarded with great patronage from nigerians .

I think nigeria youths in general are lazy and timid . How can a few tens of thousands hold a 160 million people to ranson baffles me ... We hear corruptions cases, loss of billions of dollars, underhand deals. ,.. Nigerians just listen , shrug and then laugh it off or sigh to God. Where now in europe , sensible people are demonstrating and fighting for their future as has been done in egypt, tunisia etc

I have come to the conclusion of the power of moving images , the fickleness of most nigerians , the holy than thou attitude of most nigerians esp. The ladies here .

Desola is a hero and a martyr. He has highlighted the pertinent isssues and despite repeatedly saying that he or she does not support the gruesome murders , insults are still hurled . Instead , he or she should be celebrated .

At the risk of sounding as if i am belittling the aluu incident , what makes it different from

1. Boko haram members bombing and burning innocent christains praying on a sunday morning in church ?

2. The massacre of 24 students at mubi ? 24 students.!!! Are their lives less Nigerian than the aluu 4?

3. Muslim in jos killing , miaming pregnant women with the dead red mangled fotuses in thier hands as a proof to their masters of a job well done ?

4. Muslims in jos surrounding a bungalow containing a christain family , chanting war songs with cutlass and matchets in their hands , they poured petrol and lit up the building with the family unable to escape . The house has 5 children in it . A full family gone!
God have mercy .

5. Criminals in lagos, robbing a family , asks the son to sleep with the mother, then the father to lie with the daughter and then when they refused , killed them after still stealing the valuables .
What heartlessness .!

6. Boko haram members killing , miaming and burning defenceless youth corpers in their cooper's lodge (in Bauchi). ?


7. Kidnappings , road robberies , daily jungle justices in lagos streets. And lot lots lots lots lots lots more not mentioned in news, videos or pictures

( This is not about muslims or islams or a dig at them . These are just facts)


Are these lives less Nigerian ? Or do they have less of a future than aluu 4 ?

I believe aluu 4 raises more dust because it was captured on video and pictures still or moving always connects more emotionally and subconscious than words .

( A quick test is that you read the numbered stories above and just moved on quickly even though it is equally gruesome )

Cowards as we are , we will go thru the motions . We all know it .

3. Committes is set up and police are seen to be acting
4. Somebody is arrested ( somestime an innocent person or a low level criminal not the mastermind ) by the police .
5.Charged to court and adjounrned (thats the end of it)
6. Press forgets the story and Nigerians get on with their lives as usual .

Poor families of aluu 4 who Nigerians cried foul are left on their own devices with no support from govt or people .


But Nigerians dont get it that the issue is not aluu but it is systemic as desola said and if we as Nigerians dont change , we will get a Govt. that we deserve .

God will not come down and fight our wars and even if the head dies , the political elite will install one of their own and the oppresion continues .

Our so called elites will not say " oh , by the way , i am tired of stealing Nigeria's money , let me give it back to Nigeria and bring in good water, roads , power good governance. Etc " Never . They will appoint friends, family and more importantly their children in high places of governance to continue the oppression . And the cycle goes on .

So you see , Nigerians we are doomed .
Unless we break the chain with our own Arab spring or a peaceful sovereign national conference to aggree on basics of our nationalism .


Thats is the big picture .

My sincerest condolence to the aluu 4 families( and mubi 24 and so many others ) and hope that in their deaths ,like the Tunisian,Mohamed Bouazizi the Street vendor, Nigerians will find inner strenght and fulfill their destiny .

I do think in principle the subsidy should be removed because it leads to cross border smuggling to benin etc to the detriment of nigerans  but knowing that the subsidy like PTF will not reach the common man due to corruption. Besides we have our surplus ac count and foreign reserves to take care of what the intended  benefits of the subsidy removal . And one last thing is that nigeria deserves the right and i think also an obligation of the govt. to provide ours with cheap fuel as it is our natural resources as enjoyed by citizens of saudi, iran, venezuela, norway, etc.
   So in a nutshell, NO removal of subsidy. I hope the govt is listening as i think it is time our leaders go the way of ghadafii, samuel doe and the likes because of gross insensitivity to the masses . Where is our Jerry Rawlings ?
