"How are you?" may sound polite to some group of people or culture but not to the African culture especially Nigeria.

Do you dare tell an elderly man or woman "How are you?" without getting this evil look and opened case in the community?

I was having this discussion with a friend and we started taking about the above topic then he told me;

Just imagine you saw a kid and call his name and the next comment he made was " Hey brother, how are you?"

Well, e sound somehow sha....

Does it actually shows disrespect or we Nigerians are just too respect conscious?

With Sir or Ma, it might sound a little bit normal but not the right thing to say to an elderly person especially in a Yoruba home. Nonetheless, shey alafia ni Sir/Ma sound better.

She can't save her marriage from crashing alone. marriage is teamwork. Her husband has to be a willing participant as well. Rumours has it that the husband cheated so why are you throwing the workload over Tonto shoulders? They both have to be willling to work at it. It ain't always the woman's fault or job to fix everything.

but wise women know how to protect their marriage even when the man cheats. It is never a public issue. Tonto should be wise and accept the man the way he's until he changes. If youvknow what our parents had to bear to stay till old age in their respective husbands house then you'll accept that women protect their homes no matter what.

we also had two boys of recent. The expenses no be here o but God has being so merciful to us with enough strength for my wife. 4 children at once, o boy... though God knows how they'll be catered for sha. Congratulations.

What matters is the marriage and not the wedding!...... You may spend a million dollars but not spend a million seconds in the union. This doesn't move me, what does is marriage anniversaries with grey hairs.

Silly write up!....... I'm happily married to the most beautiful woman in the world. I never knelt down for her, I didn't propose like all these Kim Kardashian sisters would expect, we were friends and we just saw ourselves glued and that was all. I've never disrespected her and she has never looked me in the eye as a sign of disrespect. We are happy together, blessed with a set of twin boys, Eni&Teni. Abeg, no be by kneeling down to propose o. God's grace, determination to keep going on no matter what, maturity and love. These and some other ones make a happy marriage.
