The last time I saw something like that it was religious bigotry. The owner found out that the intended staff was of a different religion and fired him on the spot. |

lester12: Buyers' Beware. It is a UPS, not an inverter. It is 240V nominal voltage. That is 20 x12V batteries. Charging current of about 4A is abysmally low. It might take 3 days or more of continuous NEPA to fully charge a depleted battery bank. Solar panel is almost mandatory. 2 Likes |

Barezzi: I don't know what boiler you have, but mine takes longer. Maybe it has something to do with the length of the piping involved and concurrent use. The heater supplies 3 rooms and serves 4 people on most mornings with children and wify sometimes letting the hot water run off because they are multitasking. 1 Like |

Bragging Time The last few days have been very cloudy and raining in Ibadan. So, my solar yield has been poor. This morning I discovered that I have taken 520AH from my lithium battery bank which is about 80% of my total. I sat down to do the calculation. 520AH at 48V is like draining 12 200AH 12V lead acid batteries to zero. However, given a 50% DoD, already above what is recommended for Lead Acid batteries, I would have needed a bank of 24 200AH 12v batteries. And even then my system would have shut down because my pumping machine drawing about 2KW and my water heater drawing about 1.5KW still came on at 4:00AM and 5:00AM respectively. Pump for 25 minutes and heater for 90 minutes. Voltage would have gone down low enough to trip the inverter. If you are not using lithium batteries, you can not appreciate its resilience. 4 Likes 1 Share |

tetralogyfallot: Felicity Charge Controller is not bad, and I have used Outback, Midnite Solar and Fangpusun Blue solar in the past. I exchanged my last Midnite Solar for a Felicity and my last Outback FM80 is doing 12V duty in my office since it appears as if its input capacitor has become too weak for my 48V system at home. I currently have 2 Felicity CC 120A and they are both serving admirably. 1 Like |

kiekie1: What is extreme and unethical is inflating and hiding your profit margin on an enthusiast forum. This place is not a showroom for your goods, it is an open forum where enthusiasts discuss solar power and assist each other in the solar journey. If anyone has the factory price of any good, they should be free to post it. It will help us when we negotiate with vendors as we will know that the "I'm selling with only 2k margin" is a bloody lie. 22 Likes 1 Share |

olopan: You can mix the lithium batteries. The BMS makes each battery behave like individual cells and allow them to go at the pace appropriate for them. |

TechGeek777: You are absolutely correct, I didn't think about his voltage. I use 48V and my thoughts were wired along that line. I think he should consider a 24 or 48V inverter. 12V inverter will be problematic in the long run. |

Golgota: Same with mine. So, I'm surprised when people said their 1.5HP pump is consuming 1.5KW. Maybe this is related to the depth of the borehole. My borehole is about 100m with another 10m to the tank. My surge is 4.3Kw while steady is 2.1Kw. |

I'm still looking for a way to talk to my 7.5KVA Felicity LF Inverter IVPS7548. Since I bought it, we never talked, we have just been looking and touching which is quiet unusual for my equipment. I need to be able to hear what it is saying without having to go to where it is hanged, I have found some indirect ways of monitoring it, but I still long to be able to communicate with it directly. Any help is welcome. 1 Like |

ojeysky: Irrespective of the amount of battery you have, a 1.5hp submersible pump will shut down your 3.5Kva inverter. I dare anyone to try this and report back to the house. I have tried with a 3KW HF inverter before and it promptly shuts down. The pump initial power surge can get to almost 5kW. A good transformer (LF) based inverter may try, but I will like to see a report. 3 Likes |

FEGEITOK: You can exceed the power ratings of Charge controllers, but you won't get more than what the controller is rated for. For instance if you have 10KW panels on a controller rated for 5KW, it won't damage the controller but you won't get more than 5KW output. However, as someone pointed out earlier, what will damage your charge controller is exceeding its rated Voc. That is what you can not exceed. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 9:56am On May 29, 2023 |
finebois: NEPA light is the best way to charge batteries. The charge current is even and consistently high. Batteries can enjoy the full phases of charges with NEPA. However, your NEPA credit will be going wella. While it is better to use NEPA, it is more expensive. But using NEPA will not damage your batteries. 3 Likes |
