1. If your BMS does not come with the ability to communicate with your inverter and fellow BMS, it may be good, but not good enough. Premium BMSes on premium lithium batteries are able to communicate with each other to synchronize charging and discharging.

2. No, you don't need battery communications to parallel batteries, however, it is good to have. It makes your batteries work together better. For dumb lead acid batteries, there may not be any need, but for smart batteries with smart BMSes, communications between batteries make for better overall experience and health of the batteries.

3. Finally, if it is so useless, premium brands like BYD, Pylontech, Seplo etc will not put it on their systems.

What does RJ port have to do with Parallel, Does Solar panels or Batteries need RJ before they give you more AH or A when you parallel them?

When you Parallel a Batteries or Solar panel, you simply connect the + together and - Terminals together to give you combined AH or A.
If you do that for a 100AH and 105AH it becomes 205AH, if you do that on Solar panels of 8A and 10A it becomes 18A.

Just like inverters, lithium batteries with good bms can also have data communication such that all the batteries in parallel can work like one single giant battery. Some premium charge controllers like Outback and Midnite Solar also have this data sharing connection mode. However, unlike inverters, parallel communications are not compulsory for batteries and charge controllers, but premium ones do have them. I know that Pylontech batteries have such communication ports. The Felicity lithium also have battery to battery communication.

Boss, even with large bank, lead acid battery can still be properly charged and managed very well.
Once you get the basic things right, every other thing takes care of itself.
This issue of comparing LA battery with the Lfp has been discussed extensively some years back in this forum.
George_D has large LA battery bank and he has used it for about 6 years then. Maybe, it's up to 10 years now.
He's one of the founder of this forum and I really learned from his knowledge and I'll always appreciate him.

I won't be surprised if George_D himself has cut over to lithium. With the current prices of Lead Acid vs Lithium, it probably doesn't make sense to build a large Lead Acid Bank. For those who are starting off with small load and few batteries, lead acid may be okay. But for large loads and large battery banks, Lithium is a no brainer.

You should stay out of this kind of discussion because you really don't know what it means to "print money". Paper currencies are printed regularly to replace destroyed ones. That is not the same thing as "printing money" as an economic manouvre. Google is your friend.

SMK inverters are bad. A friend bought two and the two had problems in months.

I do not know the one you are using but there is no issue with the 2019 pro version.
You are obviously using the Nvidia Shield Tube and not the Nvidia Shield pro.
The tube version will lag on gaming because it's not optimized for gaming.
Also, Nvidia Tube is 2gbram/8gb rom while Shied Pro is 3gbram/16gb rom, even at that there was no time Shied Tube or Pro was sold @ $100 even in the Official store at Amazon. The Tube price has always been $150 while Pro store price @ $200. Adding all the fees in Amazon will be taking it to about $260. If they are currently selling at $180 it's likely a promo price. I prefer avoiding the Amazon fees and sales rejection wahala. Other alternatives like eBay etc work fine for me.

I used Xiami Box S and wasn't impressed a bit about the upscaling, after reading a lot of reviews on Nvidia Shield Pro I opted for it and wasn't disappointed. I ended up dashing it to my cousin Xiami Box S.
Google Tv with inbuilt Chromecast is a streaming box like Roku Tv. Most Smart TVs come with Chromecast inbuilt hence not necessary. There is nowhere you bring them near Nvidia Shield Tv.

I also do not know what the heck you mean by Shield TV 2019 coming to end of life. 2015 and 2017 versions are still being updated and supported. How then can the 2019 version be nearing the eol? There has been a rumour of new version for over 2 years now and yet the Official channel is yet to release any news of such.

The best about selling is that both seller and buyer have choices to make, I place mine at 100k and won't remove a dime from it.
You do not agree with the price you move on, commodities are sold by the value placed by the manufacturers and marketers. Buyers can only negotiate if they are allowed to or move on to the next.

It doesn't matter how much you bought it, people will price it based on the value they put on it. While it is true that Shield is possibly the best android TV on the market today and it has been well supported with updates so far, it is not worth a 100k at this time. It is nearing end of life and I doubt if Nvidia will update it much further. In addition, Xiaomi Box S and Google TV with Chromecast are cheaper and are equally capable. The gaming on the shield is almost useless. My children do not use it for gaming despite the fact that I bought a game controller with it.

I can not pay more than 50k for Nvidia Shield at this time. I don't think it is worth more than that. Others may be able to pay a lot more if they value it for more. There was probably a time I would have paid 100k or more for it, but not now and not any more. By the way, I paid $100 for mine during an Amazon sale long time ago and it is currently $180 now on Amazon.

Sounds like you do have a serious issue then. All these answers checked out well. You should certainly get more than what you are getting. You need someone truly knowledgeable to help you review the installation. One other quick thing that you can check is if your Charge controller is set to limit the charging current.

A yield of 400W from a 2400W array is terrible. But, it may be perfectly normal if your battery is usually charged with NEPA and is full most of the time.

Yes, both statements are correct. The charge controller itself does not show accumulated KWh, but when you use the available python codes to monitor the controller, you can generate the accumulated Kwh. That is what I'm doing. Once you can monitor the instantaneous power, you can programmatically generate accumulated energy.

My es5000 inverter was maxed out on solar so I added this. Setup was very similar to my inverters. Device wasn’t too heavy so mounting it myself was easy enough. No issues after 1 month, device has been working great.

1 minor complaint is that I can’t see the individual mppt’s outputs, just total.
The other complaint is that this device isn’t supported by solar assistant (not Growatt fault, but something to keep in mind)

The Felicity Charge Controllers are quiet good actually. It is lithium-friendly and appears to be durable. Yes, you can not see how much you generated at the end of the day, but that is a minor annoyance. It works with MPP Solar's MPPTracker and other python programmes to read the data. The picture below is the reading of my 2 Felicity Charge Controllers (FCC1 and FCC2) showing the instantaneous power, current and accumulated yield/day.

What type of LFP cells? S168 LFP cells?

It may be a type of what is called "Blade Battery". It is longer than the normal LFP cells and have the terminals at opposite ends.

I have this Tactel/Chevron 15KWh LFP that is made up cells with terminals at both ends as in the picture. Is anyone here familiar with that kind of LFP cells? Are they available in the market?

I thought it was just 9.6kwh but when I realized it was 40kwh, I was surprised.

Please, let us know your pv type and if possible check the harvest from your inverter and the position of the pv.
I'll advise you shut down the entire loads in the house, charge the battery to full and allow it to power the same 2000w or 3000w loads while you monitor the duration.
Make sure you check the battery settings again before you start the process.
If bluethooth bms is attached, monitor the individual cells in the process of charging and discharging.
Fake capacities everywhere. God will see us through.

Monitoring the Indvidual cells in a LFP is very important. It sometimes takes a single cell to take the whole pack down. A smart BMS is a must if you want to prolong the life of your battery.

I have this 48V 3kw inverter for sale for the off-grid crew. It is open box, tested working. It is inverter only, no charger.

I kept it as a backup but realised that I probably will not need it.
