The door was slightly open so I got in and saw a doctor looking at him and stroking his arm like he wanted to give him an injection.

Me: What'd wrong doc? Is everything okay?

He turned and left without saying anything. I sat on the chair beside the bed and held Tobe's hand. The paleness and slow response of his pulse got my heartbeat hammering in torrent. I bent my head and began a silent prayer. When was the last time I prayed? When was the last time I sought for the face of my creator? Another time for me to use the word, "typical". Typical human beings, only remembering God when we are in trouble.
My prayer was short but very powerful and sincere. I prayed that life be granted back to the body of this man who's breathing aid is now an oxygen.
I did the sign of the cross, pecked his forehead and left the hospital.
