I am still trying to get over this news making around town but the more I shy away from it he more restless I am. So today I must comment on it.

Popular Prophet, Apostle Daniel Ogharandukun Ololo (A.K.A Major Prophet) whose church Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry (OPPM) located at Amukpe, Sapele by the Army Check Point few weeks ago during one of his prophetic meeting was said to have called put a man, and told the man that a box was given to him and that the man should tell him what is in the inside of the box. According to eyewitness present at the meeting, they said the man concurred to the prophets message but denied knowing the content of the box.

The prophet was alleged to have to the man to hurry home to get the box which he hurriedly did.
.
When the man returned back to the church service with the box, those at the meeting said he prayed and opened the box. To the amusement of every one the box contained a fresh human head.

Finally finally Prophet Daniel was reported to have burnt the human head on the alter to ashes publicly before every one.
.
Now this are the questions running in my mind after hearing this account:
.
1. On a normal bases issues of this nature is supposed to be handed personally between the Prophet and the man on charge. I have seen when Major Prophets operate, when your case is too loud and complex they will tell you to see them after the close of service. (I smell a pre-staged spiritual sacrifice that must be done in the face of everyone and to douse suspicion and negative reaction from members this Sapelewood Drama was initiated)

2. How come a box was handed over to the man in question and he is saying he has no clue about its content? (I smell mutual conspiracy to full some persons)
.
3. And my last question, why burn the human head on the alter of God? those God take delight on human burnt offerings? Are you legally licensed to do so?
.
4. Who gave the box to the man?

As Nigerians still seethe with anger over the poor preparation Team Nigeria athletes had which resulted in their woeful outing at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil last, Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung may further infuriate them with his latest claim that athletes don’t need too much preparation to excel in competitions.

Speaking yesterday on Brila FM radio monitored in Lagos in the wake of the sterling performance posted so far by Team Nigeria athletes at the on-going Paralympic Games also in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dalung said the Paralympic athletes also had bad preparations like their able bodied athletes but are doing better in Brazil.

According to Dalung, “the disabled athletes have shown that all you need is a winning mentality and not too much preparation, they train-ed under the same condition with their able bodied counterparts but they are winning medals now.”

However, Commonwealth champion, Odunayo Adekuruoye also speaking on the same programme countered the minister, saying that there is no way an athlete who trained for a month or two could do well or think of winning a medal as she apologised to her fans for failing them at the Olympics.

“It is not possible to win a medal with one or two months training. We had looked forward to good training and hoped to do well at the Olympics. I want to apologise to Nigerians who had looked up to me for a medal,” she said.

The publicity-seeking sports minister who had kept sealed lips following the poor outing at the Rio Olympics jerked back to his usual self ostensibly because of the performance of the Paralympic athletes who have garnered a total of nine medals consisting six gold, two silver and one bronze.

The next time someone passes gas around you, you may want to take a whiff, it could save your life. While most people find the sulfuric smell of a person’s gas repulsive, or at the very least unpleasant, a new study has suggested it actually has some life saving properties.

Researchers at Exeter University in the United Kingdom have discovered that the smell of farts actually has some useful properties that could ward off disease if you smell them. It’s all due to the fact that the gas has been linked with controlling inflammation in the body.
A study published in the journal Medicinal Chemistry Communications has revealed that the smell of flatulence has secret health benefits and could help stave off cancer, strokes, heart attacks and dementia,
Hydrogen sulfide is one of a number of potent smelly gases produced by bacteria as it breaks down food in the gut. It is toxic in large doses but in tiny amounts it helps protect cells and fight illness, according to researchers at Exeter University.
When cells become stressed by disease they try to draw in enzymes to generate their own minute quantities of hydrogen sulfide. The chemical helps to preserve mitochondria, which drive energy production in blood vessel cells and regulate inflammation, and without it the cell can switch off and die.
According to Mirror UK, Professor Matt Whiteman from University of Exeter’s medical school said: “When cells become stressed by disease, they draw in enzymes to generate minute quantities of hydrogen sulfide.
“This keeps the mitochondria ticking over and allows cells to live. If this doesn’t happen, the cells die and lose the ability to regulate survival and control inflammation.

“We have exploited this natural process by making a compound, called AP39, which slowly delivers very small amounts of this gas specifically to the mitochondria.

“Our results indicate that if stressed cells are treated with AP39, mitochondria are protected and cells stay alive.”
Before it can be tested on humans, researchers have run disease models to see how effective AP39 is, and early results show that it can help up to 80 percent more mitochondria survive highly destructive conditions such as cardiovascular disease.
Fellow researcher Dr. Mark Wood added: “Although hydrogen sulfide is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body and could in fact be a healthcare hero with significant implications for future therapies for a variety of diseases.”
