Here is a true experience.

I heard of similar issues with a family and the matter got to the husband's office and the man was sacked as a result of the issue. Till today the man has not been able to get well paying job and both the wife, man and children are lacking what the family needs for decent life.

Leaving the marriage wouldn't be good for the children.

Lastly, having seen the person whom your husband is, never you keep female house help to avoid similar issues, try and pull the issue over so that it wouldn't affect your thinking

In your own scenario the man is also not in prison??

Leaving the marriage is risky. What if he becomes unavailable when you later forgive him and wishe to have him? His action was very wrong. But I advise you to continue with the marriage since he doesn't starve or assault you.

the good thing is it’s the main applicant thats ready so her kids can fly with her..

The dependent husband will just use FLR extention to complete his own 5years since his dependant status won’t work with the ILR status of the spouse

I am on a UK Skilled Worker visa, 3.5 years in and about to switch to a new employer. My children are dependants on my visa and have been living with me here the whole time. My husband is also a dependant but has exceeded 180 days outside the UK in two separate years so he won’t qualify for ILR when I should.

My children’s own absence record is clean. I want to apply for ILR for myself and my children at year 5 while my husband applies for an extension separately since he won’t qualify yet. My solicitor hasn’t given me a straight answer on whether this is possible and this is now affecting decisions around my job switch.

Has anyone done this successfully? Can dependant children apply for ILR independently of whether the second parent qualifies?
