The rule is you should occupied the position that the people voted you into.
Remember what happened in Bayelsa years back where a governor elect was disqualified because the deputy governor elect has changed names multiple times, and a person not elected was imposed as governor on the state. In such situations, let's not allow the person to contest in the first place only to disqualify him after he has won.
Such system is cheating the people.

U are just introducing technicality into a black and white issue…. If u are a criminal/a forger of requirements u shouldn't be at the polls in the first place …
. U are just trying to justify fraud and getting away with it, when u and i know it takes more than the pple coming out to support and vote to win elections in nigeria…

.. it involves snatching of ballot
… plenty Violence & coercing
…. Vote buying which goes to highest bidder
… and rigging by inec officials….

In the post election petition, it's only the party or candidates that have the constitutional right to sue an elected candidates, why wait till election has been conducted and winner declared before raising the issue of certificate forgery, such a politician is even as morally corrupt as the offender. That's why the profile of a contesting candidates are to be submitted several days before the conduct of the election for proper scrutining.

For we the voters this amendment should now.make us scrutinize anyone we want to vote for,we should do a through background check before we cast our votes.

There is always a time lag btw certificate submission nd verifying/authenticating it……ive worked in HR before…. Even schools abroad too months to respond to certificate confirmation….…thats why i used the anology of companies because its the same procedure… companies go ahead to employ you and wait for your certificate verification to come in clean or false… thats why u sign that all information u gave is true in the first place..

It's an issue of FORGERY, not that he's unqualified. IF you feel that his certificate was forged, go to court before elections. Don't bring up such matters AFTER elections. Disqualify him before the process starts. Commonsense. It's like saying VAR should disqualify a goal after the competition or World Cup, when the winner has gone home and collected all money and prizes, and everyone in the country has rejoiced and the whole world has reported it. In short, don't complicate things. Sort it out on time. This is not much to ask as we grow our democracy and reforms.

It's not a company, it's a democracy with its own constitutional laws. Even in your illustration, you can't just sack people on contract except it is clearly stated and agreed by both parties. The law doesn't work like that in many places. Do your due diligence. Law has process, not jungle justice.

That said, courtesy usually demands waiting for the other party before ordering food, especially when you are still basically strangers. You could order drinks while you wait; it is only when the waiting stretches too long that ordering food or snacks is okay.

Personally, if a guy buys food before I arrive, I would take that as a red flag.
