She will be fine staying for 5-6 months, as long as she does not return until at least 5-6 months later. Due to the nature of my job, our household regularly follows this routine with our parents. We inform the ECO during the renewal of our parents' applications that we need their presence for those months to maintain family ties and provide support. They understand this, especially in the UK, where grandparents play a significant role in their grandchildren's lives.
Just for any 12 month period, they can not have more than 180 days stay… @afehin71 especially given your mom’s hx with them.
If you are scared, book a modifiable ticket with the airline, you can choose a shorter duration- 2 weeks- when she safely crosses the border- then you do what you want.
Thank you, so do I book an open return or book a return for the days listed on the application and then change the return date thereafter?

Hello,

During first application I stated my mom is coming for omugo for 1month, would it be an issue on second application renewal if she stays up to 5months within her first 6months duration?

I can assure you that those two individuals did not successfully obtain a visit visa after their 10-year ban. It’s extremely rare for such exceptions to occur, and I find it hard to believe they managed to do so. For instance, a lady I know attempted to gain entry here after a similar ban and had to apply four times. After each refusal, she submitted a Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) and engaged in a debate with the authorities. Ultimately, it was the PAP that made a difference, not just the visa application itself.
One important thing she did/does is use her 3 children for home ties. Her children have not been able to obtain UK visas- just herself and the authorities are more comfortable that she can not abandon 3 of them.

When it comes to the skilled worker visa, the process is points-based, and applicants must meet specific criteria outlined in Tier 1 and other categories. Same with student visa. Given that the points system is rigid, it wouldn’t make sense for someone who has served a 10-year ban to be denied solely based on their history if they meet the necessary points threshold. The same principle applies to family visas for British citizens.

In cases that rely heavily on the Entry Clearance Officer's (ECO) discretion like visitor visa, there’s a 99.9% chance of continuous denial after a 10-year ban period. They instantly refuse to trust you because of the deception you employed in the past. This is consistent and even the immigration solicitors here in the UK will let you know this before you embark on the mission
My mom got her 6 months visitor visa today, she had a 10year ban in 2011, after the ban expired in 2021 she applied for a visit visa but was refused, as well as 2022, in 2023 applied again twice and was refused and this is the fifth application since the 10year ban expired and was later granted 6mths visitor visa today… I did this fifth application myself, but this time I sponsored her but still submitted her bank statement of 6million Naira and my Uk statement of £12k+, all I can say is God is great!!!

Gurus in the house please help…

So I have a pre-CAs interview coming up with Ulster University, they are declining offers due to history of visa refusal. Now my dear is I have been refused a visit visa in the Uk in 2017. Should I declare to them during my interview that I have been refused or not? Because I heard once you’ve been refused they wouldn’t continue with admission.

Secondly, do you know any school within the price range of 9k tuition that’s opened for Business courses this May intake I need to start looking at other options because of the Ulster University clause.

Thank you

You’re 19, no job, still a student. You’ve shown that you’re desperate to go to the west - 2 Canada visa denials and 1 UK visa denial already. You can understand why the visa officer is likely to be suspicious that you won’t return. Forget about traveling for now, relax, finish school, get a job... establish ties in your home country, then try again.
Alright Thank you I'll just explain thoroughly to my people...

I'm 19years old in my final year in the university I applied for student Visa in 2017 to Canada twice and I was refused also applied for visit visa in the UK once and was also denied in 2017. Now the question is can I apply for USA Visa being in my final year and with the history of my refusals and I have no travel historyhuh

Surely, SOP, telling them who the person is and why you have to spend so much to attend the wedding, the side attractions of the wedding and how your attendance wil be special, In short, Let them know you will be using the opportunity to see Canada.
Apparently, I have been denied Canada visa before in 2016 and I hope reapplying doesn't mean another decline? Also how much is expected in the statement of account and are microfinance accounts acceptable too.

Purpose of visit first, If it is for Pleasure.... No need for invitation Letter.

If you have someone inviting you, You need an invitation letter.

Start with the basics, but have a strong fronting, not flimsy reasons to travel.

You can even say you want to go and experience snow, I have seen it work.
I'm actually going for a wedding of my friend's daughter and I have an invite already do I also need another statement of purpose apart from the invite

I can relate and understand the frustration. But u know, when it comes to immigration related issues, you have to be very careful so you don't end up messing up things. These folks are psychologist and know how we Nigerians go about migrating to developed countries. So the fish out people who are genuine and create avenues for different intentions. eg, study route, the express entry route etc.

Alternatively, you can think about what you truly want, start now to build atleast one year activity in it even while you are studying in UI. find out how you can be relevant here in Nigeria proffering solutions, what your plans would be after study and you MUST truly show passion in that area atleast with some evidence and not just writting. Don't forget the know you now.
Canada wasn't this hard oh when my brother left Nawa oh... Anyways thanks I sent you a mail

I really don't want to continue in ui and I'm not sure if there are internships related to social work here in Nigeria because I have not heard of any
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by afehin71(f): 8:29pm On Oct 02, 2017
Austinpee4:
Okay. But i don't know if you understood my points. Your plan now should be for the future and a career in social work after completing your current program. Your current activity(undergrad) mustn't be in social work. You can do some independent activity(ies) in social work or better still some internship maybe when you are on holiday from school. It will build your profile when you consider going for social work in Canada. This is what i mean. A delibrate act to achieve your desire.(Unless social work is really not your passion)However,if you still feel you want to reapply, still up to you.

Regards.

Since your dad was your sponsor, you probably didn't summit both of your birth certificates to proof he truly is. You also need a good explanation letter for why you want to study the course you chose.and you probably need to get a land to your name or ask family to convert one of theirs to yours.also ask you dad to include some sources of funds proof documents like receipts, CAC documents and so on.ask your dad to also add as much money as possible to his account to better your chances of approval.
Did that

Austinpee4:
Okay. Well, the officer is obviously aware of the prospects of social workers in Canada than in Nigeria where there is seemingly less activity in this area compared to how opening it is in Canada. In Nigeria, NGOs, UN and other humanitarian organisations are but a few that have direct involvement in this area with most of them actually requiring advanced degree for employment especially the UN. So this is where the issue is. Social work is more lucrative in Canada than in Nigeria and being that you have to satisfy an officer that you will return, it would be a little tough but not impossible to convince them that you are not actually using the study route to migrate considering the proposed program prospects in both countries as well as the expenses.

Anyway, it still depends on you. If i were you, while studying to complete my undergraduate here in Nigeria, i would get some work experience maybe at the intern level in the social work area, build it up alittle, complete my current program in UI and then possibly apply for a post-graduate study in social work. It will

1. Show your interest in this area.

2. Show an officer that it is a program you truly want to have a career in because they now have your profile and will compare it when you reapply in future.

Like i earlier mentioned, make it a delibrate strategy from now, get more experience, research and activity in Social work and trust me, even if you apply for a study permit with a PGD in social work immediately you finish your study in UI, you will stand a chance as it would be seen as a change of field that requires requisite academic knowledge to advance in owing to your previous activities but different degree. So make it a calculated strategy for the long run and things will play out. This is what i think though. It's still up to you.
My current activity is no way related to social work... Also is it possible to change course and institute... And my current activity is about the Greeks and Romans so it's not related
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by afehin71(f): 7:24pm On Oct 02, 2017
Austinpee4:
Oh i see! Well, like you have already seen in the officer's note. He/she was not satisfied about the prospects and benefits of your proposed program in Nigeria when weighed against the cost of completing it in Canada as well as other reasons to warrant such study in Canada. so another question here would be what are you going to study?

Also, having 17.4m in the account may not amount to sufficient for you considering the duration of your program and also considering how the funds were accumulated. Undergraduate study has weight financially. The officer considered the possibility of generating the equivalent of your tuition and living expenses for subsequent years. Undergraduate financial burden is more and now that this information is on your records, you will have to even do more in all ramification to get a re-application approved.

Well, i don't know how you may see this but i would suggest you finish your undergraduate program in Nigeria and then apply to study at graduate level in Canada. I know it may look like a long time from now but your chances would be higher, the financial burden on your sponsor(Father) will be less and overall, it would show that you are not desperate to study in Canada. There would have been a significant progress in your circumstance since you last applied and officers would be more convinced that you would leave at the end of your study. So i suggest you diligently complete your undergraduate study since you are already in 200L, get a good grade and there would be alot that will play out to your advantage in no distant time. Let it be a strategy now for you. This is only my opinion.
I'm going for Social work but currently doing classics in uniibadan

I'm guessing you are going for an undergraduate program. I see purpose of visit, insufficient funds, personal assets and financial status here.

Who is your sponsor and what does he do?
Also, how much is your yearly tuition?
Father is my sponsor and he is a botanist(farmer) SOA was 17.4m and yes I'm an undergraduate but currently in university of Ibadan 200l family assets such as houses and lands were included

Tuition is about 14kcad but paid for a semestsr
