HarryDuce: Lol. It seems you have your mind made up already. A few things to note:
•We have the western and eastern Apoi. The former in Ondo state and the later in Bayelsa state. The name of their clans are solely Ijoid. Them speaking Yoruba can be likened to the situation in Bonny and Opobo.
•Nobody claims Ofoni people are Ijaws.
•Izon is not understood by the average Rivers man. Only a few persons (mostly senior citizens) can grab some words and phrases but i still stand by my assertion that the languages are similar.
• Kalabari in Rivers state is like the central Ijoid dialect in the state in the Same vein, Izon is the central Ijoid dialect in Bayelsa and Delta. Okrika and Ibani people are not the only ones who understand the Kalabari language. From Nembe to Engenni. People understand it more than you think they do. I'm pretty sure other languages have dialectical differences as well; they can go from intelligible to almost a different language entirely. It's not unique to Ijaw.
•Speaking of Engenni. They consider themselves Ijaw just as much as the Degema people consider themselves a distinct tribe.
•Ogbia is an exception. Their language is entirely different.
•Since there's no written history of these areas, it's hard to substantiate claims. If Ndoki people have an Ijaw (Ibani) history, It's left the indigenes (especially senior citizens) to corroborate any claim. So much love your contribution on the discourse. You and HopeAthand. You guys are wonderful! |

FreeIgbos: Lol, you're already erasing their identity? So Obigbo, Asaba, Etche, Asa (half of them are still in Abia), Ndoki, Egbema (half of them are still in Imo State), Isobo, Igbanke etc and several others in Niger Delta are no longer Igbos?
The name of Delta State governor is Ifeanyi, he speaks Igbo and practices Igbo culture and traditions just like the Enugu State governor who is Ifeanyi and does all these too!
Why are you guys decieving yourselves?? Practices Igbo Culture? Davido's Son with Chioma is answering Ifeanyi. Does that make him Igbo? What is the meaning of Okowa then? I always tell you the influence of Igbo culture (names) among Niger Delta nationalities is as result of slavery. We enslaved so many Igbos from Imo and Abia particularly, and took some of their girls and women as wives and concubines. The result of this is the moderate influence of Igbo culture among this ethnicities. However, they cannot be classified as Igbo in literal sense. Get that into your head. |

FreeIgbos: Lol, these are banters that happen everywhere, at least we all speak one language, have same culture and traditions, and are hardworking progressives! Have you seen us burning down houses, fighting and killing each other like you guys do in Warri, Gelegele etc?
What sort of nation are you going to have where ateke Tom, boyloaf, tompolo, asari dokubo and other ijaw militants will be the ones calling the shots and ordering others around? Can say Uhrobo, Bini, or Ibibio man be president without these jobless militants harrasing them endlessly?
I can bet a million naira that the 6 SS states will never transform into a nation. It will experience worse crises than South Sudan and the other minorities would be foolish not to know that. Ijaw can have their nation with Rivers and Bayelsa, Akwa-Cross will have theirs too. Anything else will be Armageddon Why are you so concern? Is this act of desperation not too much? You're indirecting demarketing the Igbo nationality with these rhetorics. You know very well that the population of south-easterners in Niger Delta advancing their socio-economic development far exceeds the Niger Deltans in south-east for the same reason. With this antics, you think I'll still find joy in patronizing your Igbo brother who owns a provision shop in my street as against the non-igbo shop owner? You are unnecessarily attracting more contempt for the Igbos directly and this would further put your race in jeopardy |
Politics › Re: Questions The "We Niger Delta" Crew Must Answer by Afriifa(m): 1:44pm On Jun 08, 2021 |
You always here them calling for referendum for the people in the region to decide their fate because they have rigging machineries to do the dirty work. Igbos are globally known to be fraudlent and morally corrupt. They're capable of doing anything thing to advance their selfish interest. The call for Biafra referendum on the people of Delta and Rivers by someone from far away South-East alone shows the act of desperation. My Brother, if Igbo affiliated ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta wishes to identify with the Biafra cause, believe me, a referendum won't be needed. I know my Anioma, Ndokwa people in Delta state, if they wish to join Biafra nobody can stop them and a referendum won't be needed to ensure that. Thus, I'm submitting that you can't come from Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu or Ebonyi to demand referendum in Niger Delta. You must be delusional. |
Politics › Re: Questions The "We Niger Delta" Crew Must Answer by Afriifa(m): 1:34pm On Jun 08, 2021 |
FreeIgbos: At the first part in bold, between those calling for referendum and those forcefully speaking for others and claiming "we Niger Delta" who is landgrabbing? We Igbos insist on referendum because we have nothing to fear nor hide but that word referendum scares the hell out of you guys because you know what the outcome will be. Aside ikwerre, majority of Igboid groups in SS accept their Igbo tag, from Obigbo to Asaba and the rest, so forget.
At the second bold, maybe you need to go back to school. Azumiri in Abia State is closer to the Atlantic ocean than P.H and you think we won't build our Port there? That blue river empties directly into the ocean!
Akpabio has been facing harrasments because militants of ijaw extraction think that Niger Delta belongs to them even when facts on ground has proven that Akwa Ibom produces more crude oil than any other state! That's how you ijaws will be harrasing others anyhow. You're a fool. NDDC is an act of the law. The Niger Deltan Stakeholders only requested for the board to be instituted as mandated by the Law. How is that difficult to understand? Why are you Igbos so sentimental that truth and justice becomes second consideration to you? Are you naturally shameless? Pitching other nationalities against the Ijaws will never work. Spits! Landlocked slaves of Biafra. The army keep killing your able-bodied every now and then, yet you're worried about the Niger Delta |

You're the one who doesn't want to face the truth, no Igbo ethnic group with foresight would want to join the yorubas or "we Niger Delta" if a referendum is conducted today! You think it's by lying and impersonating them? With all due respect, we don't habour such rivalry among ourselves. I don't think we have Igbos in the Niger Delta. |

eduj: Then why fight the urhorobos over land at warri ? why the discord between you guys and the Benin over gegelege ? you guys make claims on Akwaibom,Abia and even Rivers -but you have no superiority complex. Then again which resources is present in ijaw land that others don't have ? Every ethnic group in the SS see you guys as threats.
The game you guys played out in old Rivers state ,says a whole lot about you guys Igbos don't fight themselves to death over lands? You can't lay claim to where you don't exist. You are living in self-denial. The presence of Ijaws in the states you mentioned is not debatable. As for Abia state, we have the Ndoki people strongly identifying with their Ijaw kith and kin through the IYC and the INC. if theses people aren't part of us, they won't be in our forums advancing the interest of the Ijaws within ethical boundaries. So oga. Be pain! You lots try as much to pitch other ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta against the Ijaws so you will make them vulnerable enough to advance your selfish interests in the Niger Delta. It will not work. Everybody is conscious of their existence. Ijaws don't need to and Ibibio man, Efik man or Annang, or Ikwere or even Uhrobo man how to approach the Igbo interest in Niger Delta. They know what is true.. u will always meet stiff resistance in your quest to annex Niger Delta region to ur drug republic. From the comments in this thread you should know, people from Akwa-Cross habours the Niger Delta Republic agenda, same of Bendel People, likewise the Rivers-Bayelsa. So how is it just an Ijaw affair? Pitching this nationalities against Ijaws is not gonna work. They know you for who you trully are. In rivers states, despite the overwhelming presence of Ijaws, with 9-10 local governments (debatable athough) in the form of Okrika, Kalabari, Bile, Egenni, Ibani (Opobo and Bonny) etc we are yet to have a shot as Governor of Rivers states for almost 24 years now. Only Ikweres have been rulling rivers since 1999. Yet we have peace in rivers with no ethnic war with our neighbours. In Delta state, since 1999, Ibori, Uhrobo, handed over to Itshekiri man, Ishekri man handed it over to Ika man. Ijaws have not tasted the seat. But everyone is living fine no ethnic rivalry. Only u Igbo lots tries to create war among us so you could advance ur interest. Oga e nogo work! Tueh! |

East Central state metamorphosed to just Imo and Anambra states. What happened when they became majority in old Rivers state ? what happened when they had most power in the SS after the civil war ? what happened when one of theirs became president ? The resources in Ijaw land alone can sustain them in an Ijaw republic. Other ethnic nationalities don't see us as threats because they know we have no superiority complex. |

Igboid: Reasoning is not your forte. Point is that any group of people can go to any national daily and say any rubbish on behalf of their people back home, even when their opinion doesn't reflect those of their own people back home. A group's opinion doesn't reflect the views of the people they represent, but an individual's opinion from a far away landlocked region does reflect the collective views of people that don't even know him .
