BlueRayDick: Well, most of the things I read about the Khashoggi seem quite different from this our own o. Khashoggi was a Saudi who was never really found to have fallen short of the Saudi laws.
Our own guy is practically waging war against his own country by selling weapons to bandits, terrorists and separatists while frolicking with those governing the same country.
Fair enough. But your view and loyalty to the country is probably much different to his view. It is probably just a business venture to him. The country that is being affected is a minor point. That is the mindset of most dealers. They go where the money is to be made. For instance, Khashoggi had links and supply contracts with the U.S, Saudi, Israel, and Iran at the same time.
And the point remains that such a person, as a matter of crucial importance, must have links to top government officials. Otherwise, he won't last long. The news would have been if such a person was acting solo, without any support system.
BlueRayDick: I just looked him up; seems he's a Lobbyist, businessman and arms dealer.
You just described something close to what our man is. A lot of Khashoggi's dealings were borderline if not outright criminal.
The thing is without links at the top levels of government it is difficult to survive for long in that sort of business. The surprising thing would be if someone was a major gunrunner and smuggler in a country like Nigeria and had no links to government.
Leyqute: Exactly. That time, the main argument was ETH in or OUT. And any arguments about putting a “structure” in place before deciding to sack ETH or not turns you into a ETH lover.
With the way things are, I don’t care a rats-ass if ETH goes or not. We’ve got a couple of football people in top positions now.
What do you think of that tunnel rennovation? Even though the them is about the devil, I hope it puts the fear of God into the heart of opponents before they stepped onto the pitch.
Surely, that must be part of the reason for the redesign?
The main reason is to renovate and improve appearance of the stadium. I am not sure an adult footballer would be scared by the design.
I just hope they extend the renovations all over the place. There are some suspicious looking staircases in that place, especially the North Stand.
They want to scam us with another Maguire, but it ain't Mutourgh in charge anymore. I am so happy we made 4 solid signings and non is English. We are getting there gradually.
Manchester United "fans" who are desperate to prove that having a good structure is not important go don dey go babalawo house now.
"Operation INEOS must fail. Baba abeg run am for me na".
GloriousGbola: I am actually not suprised. It happens alot with celebrities (who are financially illiterate). Sting found his personal accountant had been stealing from him for years. Beyonce found her dad their manager had been doing the same thing. Na jayz wey show her. Imho these are the real reasons the fam no like Lola. She does not fit the mold of the quiet ditzy wife that has no clue about money.
I never understood why theyade Jude who had no actual showbiz background their manager. It alway looked like a local move to me.
That Jude is the major problem in the family. That is why when their mother died and he was left as the senior person in the family, everything scattered.
A family with a foolish elder will struggle to progress.
nihilistjnr: Omo thar Asake song with Travis Scott slaaaps.
The jazzman olofin or should I say Ayuba sample hit wella.
There's also a sample of another song I can't quite place my finger on...the opening riff used to be played alot at NBA games in tbe early to mid 90s. I'm thinking specifically of the Bulls
The opening 30 seconds gave me major 90s baby vibes sha..almost MC Hammer 2 legit 2 quit vibes.
I'm in love.
Are you talking about Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) ?
Oasis007: Interview in The Times with Sir Jim Ratcliffe today. Piece says he is keeping a video diary for future documentary. On all the changes: "You can't put your head in the sand, you have to face facts. It needed a fresh start so that's what we have done." Says Manchester United had 'clearly lost its way'. On Erik ten Hag: "He is a good guy and had been doing his best but doing too much. He was trying to sort out the squad and fix leaks in the roof at the same time."
Did you know that Chelsea's attack of 77 goals scored last season is the highest goals scored when compared to its last 7 seasons?
Yes.. last 7 seasons!!
The last season that in which Chelsea scored more goals was in their title winning season 2016/2017 yet with the other seasons, Chelsea was finishing in top 4 most of the times.
Can you guess the highest goals conceded by Chelsea in the same last 7 seasons??
Your guess is as good as mine
I already alluded to this in the past. When nihi.list wanted to swamp me in essay writing class i stepped aside like Babangida.
patrickmuf: Of course I know. Sometimes, na vex dey make us make demands wey dey impossible...
I wouldn't mind if Garnacho and Amad stepped in as our starting wingers until Rashford rediscovers himself. The coaches can't keep starting him ahead of other young players who are better at the moment in the hope that he will pick form.
As an aside, how did Mount perform yesterday?
Mount did okay IMO but that is neither here nor there. His best position is our captain's position.
We paid 50m for a squad player whose job is to be a sub for our iron man captain who never gets subbed off. This squad player was our marquee signing of the window. Then we gave him the No7 shirt.
If ETH comes back in another lifetime, he will still be owing punishment for that Mount deal. Not to talk of the Antony deal.
patrickmuf: They're players in the transfer market, if we can find buyers for Sancho, Rashford and Antony let us sell them. Look at Rashford and Sancho yesterday, we can't go a full season with players who seem disinterested.
During the game, there was a pass to Sancho that he let go out for a City throw-in because a City defender was breathing down his neck. I didn't care to control the ball and protect it from the City defender. If they're not ready, they should be sold...
Most of us want them sold as well but these things take time. We already have 4 new players and very likely to buy a midfielder making 5. If we sell 3 wingers, we will need to replace with at least 2 new ones. You are asking for 7 new players in a window and about 6 or 7 players to leave as well. And you want about half of these deals to take place in 2 weeks.
It is not going to happen that way. We have to be logical. This new management team can't replace all the bad players in 1 window.
Leyqute: He did save one penalty tho. De Gea finds that difficult
There are many things to use to criticize Onana and hype DDG. Penalty shootout is not one of them. I am more concerned about his soft hands and poor diving technique.
MRTA7: Tbh, I thought he was ready last season but ETH...well less said the better. I guess it was a good thing he wasn't a big part of last season's failure sha.
He was ready but looks even stronger and faster now, and more decisive.
