Leyqute: Why did handelex deactivate his account? There are a few possibilities. 1) He has gone to Norway to work with Ole and Nairaland is banned there. 2) It is an erudite move to avoid paying back money owed on NL 3) It is an erudite move to avoid being permanently linked to the Ole higi-haga 4) He has been hounded too much by certain OleOutters who don’t have forgiving spirit 5) He has hammered like our able parliamentarian and does not want people to start disturbing him asking for giveaway. 6) He is voting with his legs (hands actually) and protesting the Ole sack as he is a firm believer in Olegarchy and the infallibility of DNA evidence. |

patrickmuf: You're wrong, the optimism is largely hinged on his footballing philosophy which has brought successes to a number of his disciples...
We will gladly take it if he uses this 6 months a lay the foundation for a permanent shift in our style and approach to games. I was hoping we would get him as DoF as far back as 2018. It took 3 years and only interim manager and then “consultant” (whatever that means BUT we will manage it like that. At all at all na him bad pass. |

TrebleChamp: Wan bissaka bench go long be that ooh, cos he offers nothing going forward.... He has more pace and energy than Dalot who is the alternative, especially recovery pace. I won't be surprised if AWB and even Shaw keep their shirts. Shaw has talent but zero inner motivation/drive. We saw the way he rightfully benched Telles last season when he felt threatened. Laziness is his problem not lack of ability. The ones that stylistically do not suit Rangnick are Maguire, Pogba, Mata, Matic, Ronaldo. Ronaldo has GOUT saving grace. |

handelex: The thing that excites the most in this Rangnick's appointment is the 2 years consultation plan.
He's not that great a manager but his track record in planning, consulting, directing, building a clear football philosophy for a club, identifying and picking up young stars with world class potentials is god tier.
I'm just salivating at the prospect of Ten Hag taking over from him next season, hopefully, we get it right this time around. You nailed it in the head. I will support any manager that Rangnick recommends. He is a great visionary but probably not the best tactician. That 2 yr consultancy is more significant, that is if the Glazers listen to him |

CapitalCee: The thing surprise me oo, LVG is a fantastic coach oo, it doesnt just work for us and him. He even won league with Alkmaar. However, him and Rangnick are different. LVG is patient build up and organisation. Rangnick is gen gen pressing and quick transition just like Klopp One group said he is like Moyes. Another group said he is like LVG. E no shock you? Rather than doing some research and educating themselves people are too quick to comment and criticise. I can already predict those who will be the first to start criticising if things don’t start well. |

Mrviktor: If u watch dem.. Dey press one by one.
Which is very dumb.
Even how Fred won d ball for Ronaldos goal..
If that player had sense he would have taken.. Fred.. Ronaldo.. Rashford.. Nd bruno out of the equation.
Leaving us very exposed..
One man press na suffer head..
I feel that's why d others don't do it.. Cuz no supporting run.. I said it here some time ago. We press by roster. Bruno will press alone and rest, then Ronaldo will press alone and rest, afterwards Fred or Greenwood will press alone. Meanwhile Carrick, Phelan, McKenna, Ole will sit down and be watching the dysfunction. 4 human heads not a single serviceable brain between them. |

I remember how back injuries derailed Tiger Wood's career. Whatever the reason Rashy stopped pressing a long time ago. |

Searchingvictor: How about our defenders Doc. Shey any of them get hope lykdis They main person who does not suit the style is Maguire. Shaw, AWB, Bailly, Telles, Mengi should all be able to adapt. It might be a good idea to recall Ethan Laird in January. |

liveLongNprospa: Funny enough, Ronaldo presses more than Rashford which I find weird. I think Ronaldo while not being able to press individually can do a job in closing down passing lanes when it involves the unit. We already know his benefits Rashford stopped pressing as he got older and bigger. Whether it is his bigger body or it is his bigger status only Ahura Mazda knows. |

nitrogen: Martial can fuvk off, looks like Pogba will leave soon, so I really don’t care. I really worry for Greenwood, he needs to be ready to run around and press, thank God he is still young, he can easily change that aspect of his game.
Ronaldo? TBH, if only one player presses less out of the forward and midfield players, and the same player is deadly in front of goal, no problem at all. Now that Ole has left i don't really worry for Greenwood. He might struggle initially but that is because of his defective football education so far but his talent will buy him time and opportunities. In the long run i think this is exactly the kind of situation he needs in order to develop. |

Searchingvictor: Out of those 3 you mention that can flourish, only 1 knows how to play footy to a large extent. The other 2 just knows how to fun about on the field, no special skill from them.
It's a pity that those 3 that might struggle get the talent but are lazy. Greenwood should flourish also sha Greenwood is gifted but needs to work on his work rate and pressing. Rashford used to work hard off the ball until about 2 years ago. Martial's work rate has always been poor. Cavani, Bruno, Sancho, Lingard won't have any issues with pressing. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 5:35pm On Nov 25, 2021 |
If Rangnick comes certain players might struggle to adjust to his style. People like Martial, Greenwood and Pogba might struggle while Lingard, Sancho, Fred might flourish. Even Ronaldo is not ideal for his style but he is the GOUT so can't be dropped. |

nitrogen: They did not influence Mou’s actions. Also, they were coaches for a few months under Mou. Carrick - 2/3 months, McKenna - 5/6 months. So we can’t conclude that they were trainers under two managers. They were under Ole! If they were not trainers under Jose what were they? Sneakers? The last 4-5 months of Jose Mourinho’s tenure when everything scattered Carrick and McKenna were trainers with the first team. This is a historical fact that no amount of wriggling and verbal gymnastics can deny. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 5:18pm On Nov 24, 2021 |
nitrogen: Carrick was a player under Jose, and McKenna was a manager for less than 6 months under Jose. Both Carrick and McKenna were coaches under Jose. I don’t know why you are arguing what is fact. |

nitrogen: Well, you are right, they failed big time, but to right things, they need to be strategic.
Carrick, McKenna and Phelan were not part of the crew under Jose and LVG na. Or am I missing something here? McKenna joined a few months before Mou left, Phelan was appointed when Ole joined, and Carrick played under Jose. You are indeed missing something. Carrick and McKenna were managers under Jose and Ole. That is 2 managers. Keep them under the next manager and that is 3 managers. I said if we keep them under the next manager that would be 3 managers i.e Jose, Ole, and whoever the next manager is. And i mentioned Carrick and McKenna not Phelan. This is quite significant cos our main complaint here has been obvious training deficiencies not tactics per se. We now want to keep those trainers for the 3rd manager. |

nitrogen: Lol, money keeps the wheel spinning. We need prudence. You want us to pay millions to sack Carrick and co, another 10m to replace them, then pay 10 million to sign Poch (plus another 7-8 million per year contract)? Spending up to 45m on just the coaching crew in less than one year? Are you a prodigal son? The prodigal son is the one that gave contract extensions to a coaching staff that failed under Mourinho and was failing under Solskjaer. If we keep Carrick and McKenna under the next manager that would we would have kept the same failed trainers under 3 different managers. And you guys want things to change? |

Oasis007: Bokoharam football? Yet he won 2 La Liga and Copa de Rey? I am not sure about Valverde prior to Barca but his Barca team played the ugliest Barca football probably in the last 30 years. That was the major reason he was booted out immediately he stopped winning. As long as he was winning the fans could manage it but immediately he stopped winning they dropped him like a bad habit. You guys need to look beyond who won what and consider the quality and style of football. |
