KingAlabi: We are still in second place, we can still close the gap with city, we just need to keep winning, we can do it
#GGMU You are on a long thing. We are competing against a team with a better squad and a much better manager. I would have more confidence if it was just Liverpool as they are more one dimensional and also quite fatigued. City are quite different. As long as we are competitive and keep it close in the league that is okay. However Amaka has to do better in the cup competitions and win either the Europa or the FA Cup. |

KingAlabi: The would have been a better alternative
But well let's see how it goes, just hope he will be a starter. I don't see it. It appears they have assessed Amad and believe he is better than Pellistri. Greenwood is better than Pellistri. Elanga is at least as good if not better than Pellistri IMO. With the club potentially going for Haaland or Sancho in the near future i don't see how he will be a starter for us. |

KingAlabi: I don't want him experiencing what Chong is experiencing at werder B, he still has a slight opportunity in the Europa especially the second legs if we outclass on the first leg, or bench camos, than go be a Chong in another team I get what you are saying though in that many of the loan moves this season have been really bad, however a loan move is not intrinsically a bad thing. The club should just do their due diligence and send him to a good team that plays attacking football whilst giving him opportunities. I would have left him in Under-23s until the end of the season and then loaned him out next season cos i think he is still 1yr away from first team EPL football. |

KingAlabi: I don't see the reason why pellistri is going on loan Sha
Na bench im go still chop
Why not stay and train with the first team and get to know them more He needs game time in senior football. It is better to be on the bench elsewhere and get minutes off the bench than stay here and not even get on the bench. |

CapitalCee: Thank you boss. That was how they hyped Liverpool and Chelsea, we keep telling them that Liverpool have clear deficiencies they shouted us down, that we cant compete with them. Watch City against Covid rusted Villa, they nearly would have drew that match, there was no much difference between how we won Villa and how they did even when the side they played were not on top form. West brom is clearly a very mediocre team that leeds and Arsenal took turns to hammer. This same City destroyed Burnley 5-0 sometime this season when they were not in form. I understand that they are very good at the moment, but they would soon run out of steam when games begin to come thick and fast. Outside that their first Eleven every other of their bench players are below average or out of form. They might well win, but its not cast on stone. No one is saying it is cast in stone that City will win however we are not winning games convincingly. We can still compete and i hope we win but City's chances are higher IMO. It is one thing to dig dip occasionally and win a game by 1 goal margin but it is another thing to keep winning most of your games by 1 goal margin. Sooner or later those 1 goal victories will turn into draws cos it is not sustainable to depend on such slim margins.. Our defence almost always concedes first and therefore can't keep a clean sheet and apart from Cavani and maybe Rashford our attackers are all off form. A defence that always concedes first needs an attack that scores 3-4 goals regularly if not banana go turn iron. Also we have been lucky with injuries so far while other teams have been decimated. There are a couple of injuries that would hamstring us but hopefully our luck with injuries holds. |

nitrogen: We won’t win the league if we continue to play safe against the big boys. We don’t necessarily need to play well against all, but we can pick our fights. Games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham can be won.
Wait, did we not beat City home and away last season? OGS better be careful! Barring a miracle we are not winning the league. I know it sounds pessimistic but we have to many forwards off form and City has the better manager. As long as we make it competitive and come 2nd it would be a successful premier league season. If we win it will be a bonus. But out of EPL, FA Cup, Europa League Amaka had better win at least one of them. |

OJURONGBE1: I have a question guys. How does the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Harry Redknapp, Guus Hiddink, Vicente Del Bosque, Jupp Hyckenes, Marcelo Bielsa, Carlo Ancelotti & to an extent Diego Someone & Jurgen Klopp able to keep their players in check from revolting against them? How were they able to manage unhappy players causing unrest in the dressing room ?
Is it because they were older /experienced coaches? Or because they handled their players transfers separately as against what we've been experiencing at Chelsea, where the board meddle in the transfer business? They had much power in the affairs of their clubs than modern coaches like Guardiola, Mourinho, Conte, Pochettino, Tuchel etc
I could recall when CR7 & David De Gea pushed for moves to Real Madrid but Sir Alex maintained his stance & relegated them to the bench for few matches before recalling them.
Cc ibime Afrodoc airmark Seankafor Nihilistjnr Amoto94 Bikeman Donjazet Lordfalcao Rooftops raumdeuter hensben It is not just one thing. The era in which the old timers coached was different. Players didn’t make so much money and definitely not when they were young. Nowadays it is hard to completely obey a coach when you have 10m social media followers and endorsement deals coming out of your ears. Secondly, success. If you win titles and make money for the club that gives you a level of cachet with the owners and fans that players can’t mess with. Lastly, personality. Some people are great man managers and have a natural understanding of human nature and behaviour and some aren’t. |

Leyqute: We need one single player who can handle the job of McFred. It’s okay too if any of Mc or Fred steps up. Not going to happen. Fred is too small and weak to handle it alone. He loses most of his shoulder to shoulder duels at DM. McTominay does not have the natural passing range and quality on the ball. Both have improved but i don't think they will ever be good enough to do it on their own. Fred's own is more difficult cos you don't suddenly grow taller and stronger in your late 20s. |

CapitalCee: Thank you Doc. Fans are are joining pure haters to denigrate our players who they hate. This has been happening over the years to players like Ronaldo, Rooney and RVN. They have started it with Bruno but Bruno na tank him go just settle you with Ls sharp sharp.
Even this season that people are saying he has dropped, i find it very ridiculous, apart from one or two gamez where he is a bit off colour, his touches, ball control and game management has been okish even for a 19 year old. But some people go just join haters de overeact for nothing. I know his behaviour has been suspect recently but i mean he is still a teenager and will misbehave sometimes and make mistakes, Solskjaer is the right person to guide and manage him. I also saw Cavani teaching him some skills ansd techniques on the pitch yesterday, thats a glorious sight to behold, so he is in good hands, there are pure professionals like Bruno, DDG, Cavani, Matic and even Rashford in the dressing room to learn from. You are exactly right. It is understandable that people judge attackers by goals and assists but his touch and game management have been okay even though the goals were not coming. He is a CF being asked to deputize as a RW. With regards Cavani, there are so many things that he can teach all our forwards. |

timay: I thought I was the only one that saw it. That Maguire pass was beautiful. and Cavani had time and space to make one touch that will help him make more accurate pass. But I guess he didn't scan his surrounding to see that he was free so he attempted a one time pass which wasn't accurate. I won't blame Maguire or Cavani sha, because it just happened that Liverpool took that chance well. On another day, it won't result to any consequence Both Maguire and Lindelof are decent passers only that Maguire's brain seems to boot slowly while he decides who to pass the ball to. I just thank Otem that he has reduced that nonsense he used to last season whereby he slowly walked the ball towards Shaw before passing to him in a cul-de-sac. |

hoopLA: Maybe so.
But my point still stands about their immobility. They're too flat-footed.
They kept getting caught out by the square ball. I remember AWB coming in from his position and leaving his man wide open to nip another slide rule pass while those two just kept wandering. This was after they got caught out for the opener, though Shaw shouldve been more alert to the Salah run.
Even trying to pass out from the back is a general chore for them. Oh we are on the same page about their lack of pace and the need for us to buy a fast CB. However in terms of that goal the pass from Maguire was a beautiful and well weighted pass. Cavani was just not calm enough to realize that was a potential 2 v2 for us against their defenders. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 1:36am On Jan 25, 2021 |
hoopLA: As much as they are im very concerned about our CB situation. Lindelof gets easily bullied by opposing forwards and starts making mistakes and switches off at the vital moment. Maguirre is just another case : no pace.
Those two were caught ball watching for Liverpool's opener and Maguirre played Cavani into a situation where he lost the ball for their equalizer. Cavani was fully at fault for that goal. Maguire actually gave a very good pass breaking the lines of the press. Cavani rather than taking a touch and turning or taking a touch and making an accurate pass decided to give make a hasty and faulty pass. He actually turned a potential goal scoring opportunity for us into a goal for them. If you watch the goal again the pass to Cavani broke their press and our attackers were in open space against their defenders. |

TrebleChamp: To be honest Doc, i want us out of this cup competitions. Make Ole channel him energy and tactics on the EPL. That is where my interest lie.... That titlle is still up for grabs and it is still too early to put all our eggs in one basket. What the squad needs now is a confidence boosting win over a top team. If they are flogged by Liverpool it could wreck morale for future games. |
