That doesn't explain anything it only explains the method of acquisition. Which still translates to hostile takeover.
Allow that one to be misyarning.

Abramovic bought a debt ridden Chelshit and cleared their 100m debt within a couple of years.

Malcolm Glazer bought a debt free United and loaded the club with 600m debt.......but the Glazers are trying.

We should not be paying off any debt . The only reason the club has any debt to pay off is because the Glazers bought the club.

Hopefully one day we will be that team that punishes others for not taking their chances and not the other way round.

Afrodoc2 won't playing Greenwood on the RW affect him? Looks like he's not really cut for that position
If it continues for too long it might. This season what he need most was senior minutes anyhow anyhow cos under 18 and under-23 were too easy for him.
Also he was not ready physically (at least pre-lockdown) to be battling with those huge CBs. Next season i expect him to start getting more minutes at CF where he can inflict maximum damage.

My point is, you cannot absolve the Glazers of blame because "They have spent money". There is a lot of blame to be passed around to explain why United are where they are right now.

The ownership shows we are just a club serving profits for the owners. They are pretty much doing the minimum required to keep the club's strong brand and cash flowing to keep the profits coming.

The ownership is the reason we have Ed, someone who knows nothing about football to be in charge of one of the biggest football clubs in the world. Ed has done well on the Business side of the club but the football side he should have no hand in. A lot of our operations shows amateur hour. We simply do not know how to operate like big club anymore and havent since SAF. Even SAF was propping the club up with his work despite having his hand tied behind his back. Maybe he knew he had to accept the Glazers because he's a major reason they were able to buy the club. so he also has a hand in this current state.

This is before we even get to the football side which is a whole other conversation but a lot of these issues can be traced back to the owners.
100% co-sign.

So let's say if the Glazers were to spend their own money too, we probably may have spent around 1b in the last 5 years right?
Maybe we would have Neymar and/or Mbappe OR been able to get Ororo back. Anyway the Glazers crippled the club long ago.

Then if we go into the details of how the money was spent or misspent, they are the ones who have allowed a finance man who knows nothing about football to be in charge of our transfers.

Afrodoc, Do you think part of the reasons Ferguson resigned was because he knew the Glazers couldn't keep up with the spending like City did?
Age, poor health and fatigue had set in. He just couldn't summon that drive and passion like before. Remember he planned on retiring earlier but changed his mind. He just wanted one last title for the road.
Also he had been coaching at a high level continuously for almost 40 yrs.

They used the assets of the club to secure the loan? This sounds like some gangster shit. They already owned the club or how were they able to use the club assets to secure the loan used in buying the club?
They didn't own the club. Fans were planning to revolt when this happened in 04/05, and a few fans actually revolted. Manchester United had NO DEBT before the Glazers bought the club.

They loaded the club with the debt of the loans they had used to buy the club. The banks agreed because everybody knew that United would continue making money and pay back the loans with interest.

Lol I know that. In as much as they have all these things going on and are running the club down, we can't accuse them of not spending money, at least in the last 5 years. I'll like to get your view on this
They are spending enough of the money made by the club to keep the club competitive enough to keep on making money.

They have not spent any of their own money. The club they own was bought via loans to be paid back by the club.

Other clubs owned by billionaires get extra money from their owners for transfers, our own billionaires use the money the club generates to pay off debt they caused in the first place, then pay themselves huge allowances before thinking of buying players.

They know if they stop spending completely the club will run down fast and stop making money. There is a reason during Fergie's time the club was selling Ronaldo for world record fee and replacing him with Valencia and co. When he left they tried to continue the same policy with piece meal Fellaini signing until reality struck.

Let's not make the Glazers up to be some kindly and generous benefactors. They are leeches who played a major role in all that has happened post Fergie.

Exactly!! They borrowed money to even buy United, it is regard as the most hostile takeover of any Football club till date.
Not just that they borrowed money to buy the club. They secured the loans against the club's assets thereby incurring large interests which the club then had to (and continue to) pay.
Also, every year they award themselves millions of pounds as consultancy fees, then pay off some of the debt before using some of the money made by the club to pay for player purchase and salaries.

If you analyse this scenario they have not spent their personal money at all. Compare this with City, PSG e.t.c where the authentic billionaire owners augment club finances with their money in order to finance huge transfers.

I don't totally agree. You were implying that serie A is washed. But I'm saying it's not as washed as you make it to look like.

Serie A is a poor league, La Liga poor league, bundesliga poor league, ligue one, but those guys will disgrace EPL teams. Funny.

My point is still bring the best out of your players. Martial for all his skills should be a better goal scorer. Greenwood should be hanging goals next season with his abilities. Rashford can do better. We have the guys to win at least a spoon.
Don’t confuse yourself. I didn’t mention La Liga or Bundesliga.
If you guys think the general quality in Serie A is up to EPL na una sabi.

No one is saying get them back. I'm only saying we always shine light on the weakness of our players while if used properly to their strength we will enjoy them.
Every player has a weakness and a strength.
Amazing that we were yabbing was one of the best, if not best, defender for Roma. They played him to his strength. I won't be surprised if Jones goes out and does well.
Serie A is slower and poorer quality. Even Sanchez is scoring more there.

Smalling is a decent defender but very poor on the ball and that becomes a problem in a fast paced league.

Also think of this. Good teams like PSG, Bayern can have loads of really good players with a few average players in the mix, BUT our team had loads of average players with a few good players in the mix.
THAT IS OUR PROBLEM.

Each of these players on his own might not be too bad but when you gather them together in one team the problems start to show.
For example, if you play James with Pogba and Bruno he might not perform that poorly compared to if you play him the next week with Pereira and Lingard.

At least he is not useless. He could be called on to play a semi final. It was here some people said he's not even second choice
Hmmm i was probably Herrera’s harshest critic here and even i accepted that he could be a useful squad player but not a first team player.

He is not useless but his fans here overrated him saying he was better than Kante when Gueye at Everton and Ndidi at Leicester were better.

It’s not only Lukaku and Herrera nah. cheesy

It makes no sense to imply that just because one team got to a final all its players are quality or better than players in other teams.

Messi, Ronaldo, Salah, Mane, KDB are not playing any major finals. Lukaku and Perisic are not better than them.

Ehn let's first agree that it was wonderful. Abi it wasn't?

Well it's not about defending AWB. His flaws are out there, we know that. So does every other player that his non fans refuses to criticize na cheesy

There's still more to come from AWB with the right guidance. I'm sure you insist this is his ceiling, I'm not seeing it. Maybe I'll see it later when the attackers are doing their jobs, but for now, I no see am
I hope it is not his ceiling cos he has shortcomings even defensively that he needs to work on.

When he has his man in front of him in 1 v 1 battle he is imperious but he does not have great positioning or awareness and he is not good in the air for his height.

In terms of his ability going forward, he doesn't need the attackers to help him control and move the ball better than atilogwu dancer. I watched his clips from Crystal Palace and predicted he would be a liability in attack. If he continues like this next season the fans will turn on him (and they might be back in the stadium to show it).
There is more to being a modern full back than making sliding tackles.

P.S And the cross was okay. Calling it "wonderful" is a bit hyperbolic.

1. We shouldn't complain about crosses again since that's the coach style of play. We shouldn't berate AWB, Williams, Shaw for lack of cross

2. We haven't seen enough to make a real judgment yet. At least, not this season. In fact AWB assisted Martial at the bridge via a wonderful cross

3. A one time cross into the box before the defenders regroup can afford our attackers some space to do damage. And if it's low cross, we should have an attacker arriving at the near post in front of the defenders, not behind them
grin

Wonderful cross abi? With his atilogwu dance steps.

Sancho's deal is unlikely to happen, except Dortmund blink first. Ed ain't gonna pay their demand. It's either they accept what United offer, or we move.

I won't blame the Board if the Deal fails to happen. United is being taken for granted by most Clubs in Europe. If it's another Club that bid for Sancho, Dortmund would have accepted €55m max.

United Board must be prudent with Transfers, but that doesn't mean they should be magwaya'd season after season. I want us to get Sancho, but no more at all costs.

You always see their quick response to situation and their quest to be at the top.
You have a point there but remember that the Barca model is different.

Their presidents are elected by the official fans of the club so if you don’t perform well and satisfy the fans’ need for beautiful and winning football you might lose your job.

Man Utd fans however have no say over whether Woodward stays or leaves. As long as he is making money for the Glazers he is safe. The quality of football and the level of success on the field is secondary.
