nihilistjnr: Baba that place no be here. We are men of reason here
Those guys there are savages if you act with decorum there, they will concoct a narrative about you and continue to repeat it until it sticks.
The only way to get on top of that is to try to out-savage them if possible. Otherwise, they are ready to run you off the forum, consequences be damned.
LOL
That place na jungle true true. The amount of hunger and agro entrapped in that place fit cause bloody revolution plus nuclear reaction. And the percentage of real street niggas wey dey there high wella.
nihilistjnr: Nah he has traveled I'm sure of that.
I also think he was in Yankee a few weeks ago.
Look at his profile picture. That's the sun plaza tower in ATL.
When I was doing my research, I went on Google maps to recreate a view where the marriot tower is to the right of the sun plaza tower.
I also cross referenced the outside iron bars, and came to the conclusion that he took picture from the Westin Peachtree hotel, which goes for around 200-300 a night, so not too shabby
When I looked at the rooms at the hotel, the one that closely matched the view appeared to be a room with twin beds, so I suspect magicminister may have actually been sharing the room...either that, or the original owner of the pic was.
Either way, the guy dey try so no respect where due. I just don't understand why he thought he could attack me like that.
Me wey be him longtime supporter sef
Omo see FBI.
Why can't you forgive and forget? So if i mistakenly attack you na so you go yeye me. Inside life.
Yes Lahm vs Thuram is tight but i went for Thuram because of defensive solidity. With that back 4 i have 4 big, strong defenders and i can then push forward with the rest of the team. Maldini edged our Fachetti Le Grande Inter at LB.
Baresi and Der Kaiser obviously at CB but Scirea, Moore were not bad.
And it is actually Platini vs Zidane. Cruyyf as European Player of the Century and the tiki taka/total football maestro is irreplaceable.
I no fit pick South America XI abeg. Who will you choose over who?
Salas ke? If we pick 3 teams Salas no go enter. Romario definitely not in 1st team, likely not 1st team for Brazil sef with Pele and R9 in the way. Rivaldo?Got call but there just is not enough space unless you want to field 15 players. lol
raumdeuter: See person wey dey talk of balance see wetin you line up. which formation is this?
DiStefano wey you list for DM sef was described as a forward
Di Stefano as the most complete footballer who ever worked the earth and the greatest club footballer ever is given special dispensation to play anywhere he likes. He is Don Alfredo. Put some respek on his name. Better than playing a pure striker as a wing back. Lol
nihilistjnr: That wasn't it sef. Basically i niggas were posting about data, and i said unlimited data na 20 pounds a month so no be luxury. Magic said nah all bragging is allowed - I said show me house, and car I will hail, but i cant hail data. And then that's when i got the first punch say i need to upgrade and stop being subservient
iamoyindamola: Magic posted credit and debit cards and car with no proof he's the owner, nihilist countered him with verified receipts even though his hand writing is terrible
Abeg na joke oo
Nice one. I need details. How much was loaded on the cards? Who posted the bigger digits? Whose car was shinier and chromier? Whose house had the bigger pool? Ati bee bee lo (abbl).
raumdeuter: Salah and Etoo don play those positions under Mourinho before na
It is not about playing a position for a few minutes or a few games before, but playing that position or a similar position at an all time great level. If Salah and Eto'o (a striker) can't enter through the door don't push them in through the window and play them as wing-backs.
Ibime: Decent, but didn't you watch Nkono and Bell?
I have serious problem with Aboutrika though. He is the lazy watchers pick in Egypt midfield while Ahmed Hassan was the one who ran the whole show. Aboutrika just had higher profile. A bit like Xavi and Iniesta except the gap between Hassan and Aboutrika is even wider.
I agree Hassan was the lynch-pin but the gap wasn't as wide as the Xavi and Iniesta gap abeg. In contrast to Iniesta Aboutrika was actually quite prolific for an attacking midfielder. Hassan was a midifeld controller sha.
GK has to be Nkono. 2 time African Player of the Year as a GK. The Godfather of Afrikan GKs. Nuff said. Bell, Zaki, El Hadary, Kameni are all good but Nkono is the boss.
He remains undefeated on that particular thread. He has bloodied a lot of people's E-life on that thread.
Na RPG he dey carry go ordinary yard people quarrel
He is smart and also lyrically gifted in terms of yarns and yabs. That combo na cheat mode. Na only one other person get that combo at a similarly high level here.
iamoyindamola: Chic2pimp, afrodoc2, blueraydick , diggz it's getting dirty at the other end
You try, but i missed most of the gbas gbos as i was sleeping. Abeg you fit give concise review?
I know mr magic started by posting data to brag and nihilist dragged him. Then nihilist naturally proceeded to dazzle him lyrically and intellectually. I am of course interested in the nature and quantity of the receipts posted cos all have been deleted. LOL.
Ibime: Good shout. It's about the flag they fly though. Olajuwon became American the moment he signed up for dream team, no different from Emmanuel Olisadebe
Nah. Hakeem is a Nigerian and our GOAT.
Okay, Who is the Greatest African footballer. And why?
timbros: @bolded: That is the reason why he is FIRMLY in contest to be the greatest Nigerian sportsman.
Remember your original question is Who is the greatest Nigerian sportsman? And why?
We can't use the world ranking to choose the greatest Nigerian.
Compare him with his counterparts in the country not in the continent or world.
Even in the continent he was a 2 time African footballer of the year, A 2 time BBC foot Aller of the year, Olympic Gold medal winner (first in Africa in the men's football category), Nigeria league winner.... Haba put respek for this guy name na.
Kanu might not be the goal machine that Ronaldo is, but you see those two goals against Brazil in Atlanta? Those 2 goals are enough to make him Nigeria's all time greatest!
Because people didn't choose him in their all time XI here didn't mean he doesn't deserve it. People didn't put Ronaldo in their EPL all time XI here too unless someone made a case for him and others started changing their line ups.
As far as Nigeria sports is concerned, for me, it is Kanu Nwankwo.
Kanu is not a terrible pick but I just don’t think he was dominant enough. I personally rate Yekini above him. The kind of confidence Yekini gave Nigerian fans, and the fear he instilled in our opponents is unparalleled in our history.
Ibime: Hakeem Olajuwon never played for Naija jare.
Have you heard of Dick Tiger, a two weight boxing champion and twice the Ring magazine fighter of the year. I don't think anyone surpass that for now. Maybe Adesanya can become the greatest if MMA gains more traction.
1) Olajuwon played for Nigeria at junior level.
2) I know Dick Tiger. He is not a bad pick and worthy of consideration but he was not as highly rated or respected in his sport as Hakeem, and he definitely was not as dominant.
3) Even your Adesanya is not and will never be a Nigerian international. How can you remove Olajuwon who left Nigeria at 20 and PLAYED FOR NIGERIA and include Adesanya who left Nigeria at 10 and has never competed for Nigeria.
Because his trophy cabinet speaks for itself. Both individual and team. Na only World Cup remain for this guy.
Not a terrible pick but I don’t think that’s the best answer. Kanu Nwankwo is a legend of the game in Nigeria but how dominant was he in his sport in the continent or globally. In the ranking of greatest ever footballers what is his global rank? Even greatest ever African footballers, where does he rank? Is he even the greatest ever Nigerian footballer?
Recently when people were naming our all time 11 I don’t remember many people mentioning his name. What was his output in terms of goals for the national team, especially in big tournaments?
codedguy1: I heard one name, Canniga the guy plays like a thief. Popping up from nowhere and maradona must find him
He is the guy that killed Brazil in 1990 and killed us in 1994. Uche Okechukwu left him to man central defence during a set piece while Cannigia was on the left wing (right part of our box) screaming "Diego, Diego". Maradona quickly passed him the ball and Cannigia hung the ball far post.
Then Benjamin Massing almost cut him in half with one of the most (in)famous tackles in world cup history.
Great one. Kai, makes me remember those days of Segun Toriola, Monday Merotohun, Atanda Musa, Bose Kaffo, Funke Oshonaike. Then there was the guy with the funniest name to me then, Sao Aiyemojuba.
Even as a young boy i preferred Oshonaike to Kaffo because she was prettier, lol. Mehn there were some epic battles during this golden age of Naija table tennis.
Toriola and Atanda Musa have longevity at a relatively high level, however none of them is ranked as high globally in their sport as Hakeem, and none was ever the best player in the world.
obainojazz: I was thinking about picking someone from the boxing part.. but I don't know that sports well . The most mentioned name in naija football Jay Jay Okocha surely don't deserve it. I would have picked Mikel as he served Nigeria well but he's not that great talent wise. Another sport is weight lifting but I don't know anyone there and that's why I picked her. Who's your pick doc?
Hakeem Olajuwon.
He is the highest rated Nigerian in the history of his own sport. He was dominant in his position for several years and many believe the most skilled/complete player in his position.
I don't think you will find any other Nigerian whose all time rank in his sport is as high AND was also great for as long. He checks the boxes for both sustained excellence and peak performance, as well as historical ranking.
