eph12: Don't visit the sin of one mumu on others na
Even though i am slow to anger and have a forgiving spirit, i don't let the guilty go unpunished and i will visit the iniquity of all Assanals on all their family, even up to the 3rd generation.
I think i have a clearer video than yours, which i will now proceed to post on the Assanal thread. Other Assanal unknowns must have their doubt cleared by their Igwe and Oluaye.
In this era of Coronavirus one has to be humane. I met an Assanal fan once, 90 yr old man and he has never celebrated a champions league triumph.
That is the life those unfortunate souls live. This man lived through World Wars 1 and 2 and has so many great experiences in life, but has never tasted champions league victory. In the honor of that old man i won't rub the fact that Assanal has always been useless in the champions league in the Assanal fans' faces. I just won't do it.
BlueRayDick: I can picture Corona virus sitting cross legged on a very soft sofa with a smile on his face while Seyi Makinde was waxing his first single in the video below
LOL. Foolishness in high places. Imagine you are on a bus going on a long distance trip, and you find out in the middle of nowhere that your drivers are an assortment of drunkards and morons. Nigeria is that bus.
This is really a drop the mic moment. If Arsenal's all-time greatest player whose statue is at the entrance to their stadium picks Scholes ahead of Gerrard then no need to bother with Arsenal unknowns here on NL.
It is a good idea. The data on the efficacy of Chloroquine is still inconclusive at this time, but there is no time to waste on lengthy clinical trials.
It is not a new drug so at least we know it is relatively safe at therapeutic doses, therefore all we need to find out is if it works against this virus.
In the absence of a better treatment there is no alternative but to use the patients as guinea pigs.
Ibime: I read a report that makes me believe politicians are experiencing mild Coro symptoms because they tend to catch a low viral load from handshaking, giving their immune system more time to react. . . . as compared to health and emergency workers who are dying in high numbers because they ingest high viral loads from patients in the workplace through coughing, aerosol disturbance etc. For example I found out Spain lost 800 police officers already. Afrodoc2 wetin you think?
There is some sense to that. Viral load and viral shedding matters, and the health workers are CONSTANTLY exposed to very sick people who likely have a higher viral load and shedding more viruses than asymptomatic individuals.
iamoyindamola: 1 is very possible 2 you actually believe that clown, he might be living with Chlamydia or hepatitis without knowing 3 David Omo Baba olowo was pressing Bobbi 2 days before going for the test.
BlueRayDick: That Davido own is just puzzling. He's had close contact with two different people that has tested positive ; one of whom is his spouse and yet he's negative. How?
1) Possibility of False negative. Either through poor sampling technique, low viral load, or just pure dumb luck.
2) Ori yato sori. There is a guy on ashewo thread who has been watching it flow out like a boss for the last 550yrs but says he has never had an STI. People have varying levels of immunity and resistance to illnesses.
3) He and Chioma were in the middle of 1 month dry fast and have not been near each other recently.
BlueRayDick: I was one of those that kept on rooting for him going by how he's been taking some decisions like suspending activities of NURTW guys and the likes.....I was equally disappointed in that stupid rally he held.
Dem bode George now sef, only God knows if dem never Carry am too
If the epidemiologists look into it they will discover that the rally was the major source of the spread in Ibadan. People holding large public gatherings at this time is just not on, a governor doing it is unconscionable.
BlueRayDick: In other News, GSM Don test positive to coro
That one na foolish governor. I was believing the hype about him until he held his political rally in the middle of corona season. His brain is garbage in garbage out.
With the kind of leaders we have in Nigeria only Jehovah Jireh can save us. Even the ones that are meant to be smart and progressive are actually dullards in intellectual skin.
iamoyindamola: You deactivated cos of this, ole jati jati lazy thing. Now that your magas are self isolating you will carry gun las last Patriotic thief
Roland17: Yup, I should have specified that. Everyone keeps talking about buying stocks now but to be honest I am very hesitant, except money wen be loose change and I go throw am into a blue chip/ tech company.
I don’t think it’s even the right time yet. Most of those share prices will fall further. That would be the time to strike.
Roland17: Almost similar to what is applicable in the US. Contributions are limited to 19.5K/ yr if you are under 50 and a max of 24.5K if you are 50 & above. Also, these amounts change every year and are determined by inflation, recession and other strong economic indices. Early withdrawal will cost 10% and that excludes heavy taxes. I have stopped looking at my 401K, it is in the hands of God at this point, thank God for diversification in investments. Owing to crashing oil prices, impending recession in Nigeria and the exchange rates, I have changed my focus to funding one savings account in Nigeria because of the high interest yields. I tested my hypothesis after a month and I was right when I compared it to what other investments in Nigeria was yielding.
If you are saving in Naira it won’t pay you o. Devaluation of the Naira go chop all the interest benefits.
I think it’s best to save cash in dollars and/or buy up stocks that will surely bounce back while they are near the nadir of the bearish run.
iamoyindamola: He's also qualified for test too Okay we was told to self isolate which is right but then he developed a severe symptoms and they still didn't take him serious is what I don't understand
According to the criteria I do not believe he is qualified for testing for COVID-19.
As to whether he was really sick, only the doctors who attended to him can comment on that.
Let us all bear in mind that because COVID-19 exists does not mean other diseases went on leave. Not all illness is COVID-19.
iamoyindamola: davido and his guys didn't show any symptoms but 31 test kits was wasted on them. If in the end the guy actually have the virus who should we blame. What if he had come in contact with someone that recently traveled since Corona virus is becoming abroad disease
Based on the information about this guy that you know does he qualify for testing? Or does it take just going to the hospital and saying that you think you have COVID-19 for one to be tested?
spillo1: How exactly are they over him? Bellingham is already playing at a higher standard of football at 16. Bellingham is technically superb and is considered one of the biggest talents in his age group. He is better than both currently.
Reading the game, passing range, decision making translate very well to the senior game for a midfielder. Running through a crowded midfield (which appears to be his biggest asset) not so much.
I see a potential Ross Barkley in the boy. I might be wrong though.
iamoyindamola: Watch the video I quoted, he told them he had same symptoms covid-19 patients have. In the video he was having problem in breathing, why will they be asking if he recently traveled when everyone knows it has gone beyond that
There are criteria for testing that have been put in place by medical experts. The stage at which Nigeria is in the pandemic curve travel history is still significant.
So yesterday he was struggling to breath like in that video but today he is posting the video on Facebook and typing plenty grammar?
iamoyindamola: Watch the video I quoted, he told them he had same symptoms covid-19 patients have. In the video he was having problem in breathing
That does not qualify him for testing.
He did not look like someone in respiratory distress. He didn't cough once. If he does not have a history of recent foreign travel in the 14 days before he became sick or contact with a known COVID-19 patient, or documented fever of at least 38C he does not qualify to be tested.
iamoyindamola: yet davido took his crew about 32 people to get tested. This guy has been calling ncdc they told him to self isolate because he doesn't have recent travel history. Because he's a comedian they didn't take him serious
What are his symptoms? And why do you think he should be tested for COVID-19? Does he meet the criteria for testing as established by NCDC?
Ibime: You be oga na. Money must find place to be put to use.
Aussie laws may be different. I'm only relating UK laws. Prior to 2015, we only got taxed on the interest portion of mortgage payments on rental property. Now we get taxed on the full rent which for most Landlords fall in the 40% range, plus 12% National Insurance. Also capital appreciation started slowing down heavily in 2016, so it's no longer a case of just paying deposit and cashing out on equity gain. I don't think equity gain in UK, (especially London) competes with the tax exemption gain from pensions any longer.
Just confirmed that after 25k into the pension fund you get no more benefit, in fact you get penalized for any extra you put in. It can be accessed without charge at age 55 but accessed with heavy charges before then.
I think diversification is key at my end. Put the first 20-25k into the pension and the extra can go into property and/or stocks. It is more about how smart the investment is rather than just what you are investing in.
ChristineC: ... and for the acclaimed £50m it's not in tune with how Ole has recruited so far. I just hope someone 'big' is not pushing buttons here.
They are just looking for an English maga to swindle. More likely destination for him would be Dortmund for 20m. I would save that money and use it elsewhere cos we have a number of decent young midfielders in the youth setup coming through that need an opportunity.
Ibime: You be oga na. Money must find place to be put to use.

Benefits of being a finance guy, you know all the tricks the govt uses and the implications of policy changes. We are learners in this field.
Ibime: Yeah, property is still solid. I just tend to look at the percentages, and it depends largely on the tax regime in your country. For example, as you said, you can sell a property for 200% of what you bought it in 10 years time. However in the UK, you will get taxed 40% of rent you collect, you still have maintenance charges etc so people are starting to diversify from buy-to-let because of the change in tax laws.
On the other hand, UK tax exemptions on pensions will allow you to achieve that 200% instantly on pensions for a good portion of your income via 40% income tax relief and 12% National Insurance relief. So I'm turning every 48 pence into £1 instantly, and then still getting the benefit of the next 10 years of stock market rises.
If I meet that money at age 55 vs return from property, I think the pension will substantially outweigh the property return, and I can cash in the pension and buy properties then.
Here there is a cap over how much you can contribute yearly before you lose your tax deduction benefit. So this limits how much you can load into your pension fund.
For last year it was about 25k, meaning any money over that amount that you put into the fund gets taken out and put into your taxable income come end of financial year. And said money apparently gets taxed at a higher rate.
So i usually go just under that max and put the rest in property. I need to go through the points you raised with my tax accountant though. Just to make sure that I am not counting flyovers while others are buying them.
