NCAA still pays the athletes under them salary based on the contract they sign. Lots of companies do send their employees to school also while footing their bills.

The question then is, why can’t government do the same? This model has been tested all over the world and it works, why can’t the US govt. does so also?

NCAA does not pay the athletes salaries o. They get scholarships worth thousands while their coaches are paid in millions of dollars. They generate hundreds of millions for their schools while some of them have to resort to stealing food to stay alive.
Being an NCAA student is probably the closes thing to slavery or indentured servitude in the U.S

If big corporation will enjoy bail out by Govt funded by taxpayer money whenever crisis hit, then those big corporation can be taxed heavily when they are back on their feet. I see you stylishly left out the Universal Health Care which the US is struggling with. Do you know how many American dies annually because they cannot afford premium to get universal health care in America? Why should govt. leave her citizens at the mercy of these big pharmaceuticals?

Socialism as an experiment failed in the Soviet Union, China, and in Cuba. It has become abundantly clear that capitalism with a little mix of social justice is the bedrock of a progressive society.
Expecting more social responsibility from billionaires is reasonable, claiming that their very existence is incongruous with a successful society is not.

I totally accept social capitalism is the way forward, however countries that have practiced variants of this like the Scandinavian countries and even the UK under Tony Blair's Third Way, like Nihilist alluded to, still produced billionaires. Any reasonable taxation system even with ultra-progressive taxation will still produce billionaires.
