Leyqute: So.....you’re saying Chong is ready for the physicality of the EPL? I never said that. I earlier stated I wasn’t convinced any of the young players was ready for EPL. I was only summarizing the sequence of events that prevented Chong from playing. You guys sabi make strange deductions for here sha. Lol |

Leyqute: Wasn’t debating about McTom. Just stating my opinion. He sucked for most of the game.
About Garner and other youth players, you’re right. The EPL is very demanding physically. I just hope these younguns are eased gradually and properly into senior football.
I saw Chong warm up at Selhurst Park on Wednesday only to see Rashford replace Sanchez despite his condition. There’s definitely a reason for the change of plans and Palace’s physicality is probably top amongst them. Even Bailly had to come rescue Young from the jaws of Zaha. Young prevented Chong from playing. We were comfortably leading 2-0 and Ole wanted to give Chongy some minutes but the Palace goal put paid to that. He had to send in the big guns. |

Leyqute: On Wednesday McTom played cowardly for most part of the game. He oftentimes isolated himself so he wouldn't get the ball because he was afraid of losing it. He made a number of forward passes though; but, that won't make up for disappearing when he should be receiving the ball and distributing play.
I watched substitute James Garner's video and I admire the way he plays. He has the vision to make a penetrating pass from deep. He makes tackles and releases the ball immediately to the next available attacking player for a counter when necessary. This doesn't mean he doesn't make those moves himself.
I haven't seen him in a full match though to completely assess him. OGS calls him the "next Carrick" but we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully he plays on Saturday like OGS hinted. McTom improved as the game progressed and was actually hindered by Fred who was coming so deep and standing beside the CBs, only to pass the ball back to the same CBs. I am not a big fan of McTom but he was not as awful as described in this match. And i don’t think this is a debate between Garner and McTominay. The only advantage McTom has is age, Garner is way more talented. I watch these youth players religiously, and I am not convinced they are ready PHYSICALLY to play a big role in the senior team. I guess OGS and his team who watch them in training daily will make the right choice. |

A40: This is why he needs to do the rematch with Wilder ASAP. There is no incentive for AJ to fight Fury without a belt. Too risky They all talk a big game but they are almost all scared of someone. Maybe apart from Wilder who just wants to knock someone out and finally get some respect. I root for AJ but i think he is scared of both Wilder and Fury for different reasons. It seems his camp don’t believe he is ready YET, and they would delay him getting into the ring with either guy for as long as it takes. Fury is usually fearless, but after feeling Wilder’s oathbreaker he now realizes the risk outweighs the benefit. Fighting AJ would bring far more reward, and he believes at less risk. |

McTominay actually did ok as the game progressed, and like DeadPresidents said i noticed he was confident enough to attempt and complete several threaded passes between the lines of the opposition midfielders.
In contrast Fred was happy just playing safe passes all day or swinging slow lofted passes to the full backs. He contributed little or nothing to our build up play. |

Roland17: Let’s not act like Wilder had a stroll in the park when he faced Fury because that would be far from the truth. Fury held his own very well and had a good shot at winning that fight.
Fury is an entertainer and I believe that is what he doing. He knows he can get under Wilder’s skin and surely he is doing that. Do I think he can beat Wilder? That is a fair argument based on the last time we saw both of them but it probably tilts towards Wilder. Nobody is claiming Wilder had it easy with Fury, and actually most people believe Fury won that fight. However nothing scares a fighter like a man that can really, really HURT you.....especially if you can’t hurt him back. Like Mike said, everyone has a plan until they get hit. It took the grace of Chukwu okike abiama for Fury to survive that punch undertaker style like he did, but i sure say him body dey tell am now. |

Leyqute: Yes, I got you. However, given the attention on him, he shouldn’t be taking penalties in that manner, especially since he’s the first taker.
If it had gone in despite the lame manner in which he kicked it, he’d be okay. I think he should get some stick cos of the technique he used AND the fact that he lost it.
Aguero’s penalty was also lame but it went in. Sane and Luiz lost their penalties but they took them well. Jogginho did a little ineffective hop before kicking the ball tamely, what d heck was that? Maybe if Kepa had not acted up Joginhoe’s kick might have been the focus, wrongly so in my opinion. However like someone stated, Kepa’s antics overshadowed everything. It is one of the most ludicrous things ever done on a football pitch, and I actually couldn’t bear to watch the replays. I really pity the man. Imagine going to work everyday knowing almost all your co-workers and even subordinates neither like you nor want you to succeed. |

hoopLA: Actually it may be Jose.
I remember he labeled some of those players as "undropable" in 05/06.
I think that culture has transitioned over the years. And it's the reason why even jose became a victim of such, as did conte and now Sarri almost being one himself.
Just my view Yeah i remember Jose empowered some of them. Last last the buck stops at Roman’s desk. He has to take a stand with a manager one day and send a message to the players that they can’t just be revolting every 1-2 years. |

Ibime: Azpi has been beefing with Sarri for a while. There was something Sarri said in press few weeks ago about players being unmotivated that Azpi confronted Sarri about. Azpi had backing from the players to confront Sarri, with Willian pinpointed as the main man pushing Azpi to speak to the manager. This is why Sarri took off Azpi for Zappacosta against Manure just to make a political point. This has been brewing for a while between Azpi and Sarri.
I can't say I blame Azpi though cos he's always been well behaved. Frustration with this stubborn manager has driven him to oppose the manager on behalf of all the players who are also extremely frustrated. He is not a captain then. This was a final. I am not a Chelsea fan but I was really disappointed with how they behaved today. Caballero is a penalty specialist coming on to face players he knew very well, and replacing an injured colleague. Was this the time to show dissent? |

Melvyn11: The ref has no business going back to the coach saying 'he doesn't want to come off.' coach made the call, your job is to execute the substitution. if the player doesn't want to come off, that's a yellow for time-wasting. if he still doesn't, second yellow. if the ref had done his job Kepa would've gone to the bench complaining and with a yellow, instead of getting his way. True talk. It is not a democracy. Manager makes decision and Ref effects it. This farce was due to an unfortunate combo of limpdick manager and clueless ref. |
