PietroRick:Baars is still there. He is one of 3 players trying to stake a claim to the no2 striker position. The others are Burkhart and Bohui. They all have decent pace, but none of them is Greenwood despite being almost 2 yrs older. Baars is the one i have seen the least this season. P.S Baars is Dutch. It is Burkart that is Swiss. |
PietroRick:Even Greenwood for all his talent might not be ready yet because he is the youngest. We will just have to wait and see. We can switch to a 4-4-2 diamond and play Lukaku and Rashford together with Pogba at the tip of the diamond behind them. Play Dalot and Shaw at FB to supply the width. That might be better than playing 2 wingforwards that won’t give us much going forward. ......................DDG............................. .....dalot.....bailly.....lindelof.......shaw.... ......................matic............................ ......herrera...................fred................. .....................pogba............................ ................lukaku.....rashford................ We can have sanchez, greenwood on the bench as strikers, and mata as sub for pogba. |
And for those that didn’t want rotation, this is the result. If you don’t rotate you run the risk of running players into the ground. We are even lucky because there were rumors on MUTV before the match that Rashford might not make the team because he was he was carrying an injury. |
MRTA7:Time for promotion. A few youth team players will need to make the match day squad. Let’s see if there is a Rashford amongst them. |
Leyqute:Abeg you read that Dayo alaye up there? The thing too long, e look like excuse a la carte. See as Dayo turn to Shalaye FC |
hensben:So you dey feel like Sherlock Holmes now abi? In other news, water is wet. |
raumdeuter:We are struggling to make top 4 in our league and PSG is running away with theirs so that’s not a good comparison. But when your ordinary Spurs in 3rd place are using the nose of your Rubbishliga leaders to blow trumpet then we know that e don pass be careful. Shey Na the zagadou wey dey boss your league dem turn to zagaza. Lol |
Leyqute:Have they brought back coefficients? Rubbishliga teams can’t play well without them. That is why ordinary Spurs beat their league leaders like stubborn children. So Jadon Sancho wey e leg never strong Na him dey chance dem for that league. Lol |
See as the 3rd best team in EPL rod the best team in Rubbishliga. |
If we rotate na yeye players go enter, if we don't rotate our players will get injured. I no envy Ole at all. |
liveLongNprospa:Mentality is a large chunk of it, but it is more than that. He truly has difficulty being effective off the ball. All the off the ball runs and "in and out" runs that come naturally to Lingard, and to a lesser extent Rashford are alien to Martial. Despite his poor mentality he is our best player in 1v1 situations in space, and he is our best finisher. His struggles are when he is not in those exact situations. |
odizeey:I don't think people are cussing out players because they hate them, however a dose of realism is needed at times in order to have an accurate assessment. 1) That we need a RB is not new information. We all knew this and are hoping we get a top quality one next year, or that Dalot's progression is accelerated. 2) Matic and Herrera have to be improved if we need to become a really good team. This is especially true in the case of Herrera whose limitations on the ball were exposed yesterday. I have said this for years and was attacked for it, but i think people are beginning to see it also. 3) That our RW is dead is not news. We have been asking for a good RW for years now. Ole's success was in spite of our structural deficiencies as a team, but it did not eradicate those deficiencies. |
larride:On point. Was discussing with a friend of mine who was at the game. Agreed on the exact same positions, and he also added a reserve LB. And if we want Martial to succeed then Pogba needs to try his best to play more centrally and not be so left sided. He ends up crowding that left side, making it difficult for Martial who needs space to be at his best. The situation in which Pogba, Martial, Shaw and their markers are all loaded on that left side will lead to struggles for Martial. It is not Pogba's fault but it is what we need to bring out the best in Martial. |
Lana1:Remember immediately he got the yellow card i predicted it might happen to him. I don't want people to think i am pushing an anti-Pogba agenda here so i won't really say much. I would like fans to check the way Marquinhos, Verratti, and Draxler played to see how a top class midfield plays. Verratti and Herrera had similar roles as the CMs, with Pogba and Draxler being the AMs, and Marquinhos and Matic being the DMs. If we want to be a top team our 1st choice CM should be closer to the Verratti level rather than the Herrera level. There is a limit to which passion and energy can take you if you don't have that outstanding ability. |
Unlimited22:Diadem likes hot takes. That is how he goes to our academy and hypes the obscure ones there so that he sounds knowledgeable. But i agree with you, that Lemar vs Mbappe comparison was criminal. |
The major positive that might come from this is we get to focus on the EPL. Then we go again next season with an improved team next season. I have always said we need better players to compliment Pogba in midfield. Charging up and down will work up to a level, but you also need to be able to keep and circulate the ball to a high level. The Martial and Lingard injuries finished us as we then brought in players who couldn’t press or use pace going forward and also couldn’t protect the full backs (Mata especially). |
I log out. ![]() |
This Mata and Alexis sub don kill our attack. |
JayKayMaybachz:Martial has incredible skill but his football know how or IQ is just there. He stands there on the touchline where the full back can see him. Does not make runs off the ball, does not utilize the space between the full back and CB. The difference between him and Mbappé at this time is like night and day, and he is 3 yrs older. |
Our midfield possession play is so poor. Half fit Veratti and centreback Marquinhos dey boss the game. Our CBs are so afraid of Mbappe’s speed that they are not pushing up consistently with the team press, thereby leaving huge gaps in defensive midfield. |
Martial has been crap so far. Pogba better watch out for 2nd yellow from this trigger happy ref. |
This is going to be a tough match. Mbappé is a problem. |
JayKayMaybachz:They are one of the best but i wouldn’t day they are the best. Our 07-09 team with VDS, Vidic, Rio, Carrick, Rooney and Ronaldo winning 3 straight EPL titles and winning the champs league was better in my opinion. |
Lh19:Saw it. Evra is a legend and a fan. I am sure he has personally gingered Pogba who is like his little brother. |
NinjaMetahuman:Yes. It was many years ago though, i believe it was Adebisi Akande. The man was planning to scrap several subjects from school curriculum so as to cut costs. |
It is going to be an interesting game. Pogba, Martial, and Rashford must not let Mbappe outshine them. I fear that guy. |
Dantedasz:Guy wetin you go do if i no stay on my lane? Who wants to have conversation with you before? Were you not the person that quoted me? You are so full of shyte you might as well be a latrine. Ogbunigwe thunda faya you if you quote me or respond to me again. |
Martial suppose don learn English by now, lol. If he, Pogba, and Rashford take this game seriously and play up to potential we can win this game. |
Dantedasz:You are the one who has issues not me. And who gives a phuck which remarks you do or don't do? |
LoRdCaT:Lol. That guy is “fearfully” made. |
