GloryIsaac:This is not a compilation, but highlights of his touches from our last match. Pereira WILL NEVER be the solution to the right wing, he is a central midfielder. He is technically superior to Herrera and much tidier with his control and passing, but that is not surprising. |
Demi Mitchell highlights. Unfortunately yet another left sided attacking player. His football education has been a bit unstructured, left winger in youth team, occasional auxillary striker in reserves, left wing back on loan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDD9FUTpKJA |
Andreas Perreira highlights. I think it is time he takes Herrera's place as a squad player. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFQz875yI9U |
But diadem why would you expect a 16-17 yr old player to remain the same and not improve? The young 20something year old players that were better than Messi in 2004 were far behind him by 2006. It is a law of nature, the young shall grow. The fact that Mbappe has overtaken Lemar comes as a surprise to no one in this universe apart from you, so all this epistle you have been typing is unnecessary walahi. |

Lana1:It is the German way LOL Meanwhile to complete the videos, highlights of Mason Greenwood. I believe Gomes, Chong, and Greenwood are the 3 most highly rated youngsters in the club right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4RroA-Bdug |
Nihilstjnr:Angel Gomes is the more polished player at this time no doubt, but that lack of size in the EPL worries me. If they were both going to La Liga Gomes would be the obvious choice cos of his superior technique and vision but Tahith Chong might be able to cope with the physicality of the EPL better. |
Lana1:UEFA has stopped using coefficients so i predict German clubs will struggle this season. If only UEFA brought back coefficients you will see German clubs dominating, because they value coefficients more than titles. Seriously. |
ChristineC:Angel Gomes is the most higly rated and the darling of the Old Trafford hierarchy. He has pace, dribbling, passing, vision, decision making but his lack of size worries me. Having said that the fact that his family is Portuguese might mean JM gives him enough opportunity. Tahith probably has more potential because of his bigger size and greater straight line speed. His decision making, passing and vision are not at the level of Gomes and he needs to improve but he is still young. If he improves on that he is a potential world class wing forward. The path to the first team is more open to Tahith cos of the RWF situation, compared to Angel who seems more comfortable playing 10 or LWF. |
raumdeuter:I don’t understand why you are digressing. The debate is about their TEENAGE years. What they did after 20 is not included in this. And that is why I said Igwe’s name should be expunged from the list, dude lit up only after he hit 20. In all likelihood Mbappe will have a better career, heck the 19 yr old Owen was better than the 24yr old Owen. |
raumdeuter:How would he score 10 UCL goals when in that era of only champion or top 2 making champs league Liverpool never played in the champions league. It is like you arguing that Amokachi is better than George Weah because he has World Cup goals, Liberia dey go World Cup? P.S I am actually leaning towards Mbappe but difference is marginal. The guy above all others is Da Lima. All others are counterfeit. |
So many wrong submissions from almost every single side. If Mbappe is better than Owen as a teenager the difference is marginal. Owen was a better finisher and had more speed IMO but Mbappe has better passing, dribbling and creative ability but Owen’s supporters will say he didn’t have time for shakushaku. The best teenager in modern football was hands down the Brazilian Ronaldo. And please you people should stop mentioning Henry. As a teenager Henry was still a raw kick n follow winger, he has no business in this debate. |
Ibime:Lol, like Iniesta abi. I can’t argue this one with you. Xavi passes the eye test with distinction and his passing stats are out of this world. Numero uno CM for sure. |
Striker completed full World Cup schedule without having a short on target. When it is not mannequin challenge ![]() The guy broke Guivarch’s record in terms of uselessness. |
neezar:See them famzing Deschamps whose career was in its final death throes when he joined them for 1 season. What should Marseille and Juve say? The less said about Jokanovic and the other mediocre players and their equally mediocre achievements the better. |
neezar:Imagine Make we leave wetin d players win while playing for the club and go dey chase wetin dem win as coaches for their countries and OTHER CLUBS, dey chase wetin their wives, concubines and oloshos also win. Classic Shekpe logic at its comedic best. ![]() |
But Kante vs Busquet should no longer be an argument. Busquet is yestesday’s man and has been found out post-Xavi. In a non-possession team he is as useful as a waterproof teabag. |

diggz:Haba i am not setting rules nah, just voicing my opinion. Di Matteo did well no doubt, but the main thing is that he did it FOR CHELSEA not as an ex-Chelsea player managing Poland or Argentina e.t.c. What he did was special for CFC and well worth celebrating, so kudos to him and all Chelsea fans (including even the incorrigible shekpites) for that. But all that Deschamps talk na eleran talk. |
diggz:Why what an ex-player goes on to do with his life would concern me is what i don't get. I support Manchester United and its players, i have no affiliation whatsoever to those players personally. Imagine claiming the promotion of championship teams to EPL, or the world cup victories of COUNTRIES for your club cos a couple of their players play for your club? Which kind tenuous link una wan dey use attachee to success. Oya, Johan Cruyff who is the father of an ex-United player Jordi was named European player of the century....can you beat that? LOL I am happy France won cos i support France, not cos of Pogba. France won the world cup, not Man Utd and not Chelsea. People borrow pose like this when they have nothing of their own to pose with. Show us the Chelsea Ballon d'Or winners or even Golden Ball winners and then we can talk. |
diggz:Lol. i sure say we be age mate but you dey use football age like Philip Osondu ![]() Is it because it is a football thread? hehehe For here you, me, FBS, Dayo, our honourable Edo banker, Funlord go likely dey among those wey senior pass. And that no be shame unless you are not successful in life and your younger brother dey feed you. lol And that na why i no like to dey argue with this indomie generation people that need google and wikipedia if you mention Bruno Labbadia, Michel, Lentini or Signori. Finally, SHO MO AGE MI NI. ![]() P.S Diggz you dey too big for all these borrow pose sturvs, as a true member of the Rewane clan don't shekp like all these other shekpites. Please eschew any spirit of attachee by force and scrubism. |
Shekpites will always shekp, so because nobody here witnessed Nigeria's independence in 1960 or Wall Street Crash of 1929 means it didn't happen? Facts only: Law, Best, Charlton, Ronaldo won Ballon d'Or playing for United. Busby and Ferguson were knighted for achievements managing United. Charlton dominated and beasted a world cup winning best player while playing for United. Shekpites stop borrowing and posing, stop doing attachee. We don't want no scrubs, stop forming slay king while posing with your friend's ride. |
Denis Law won Ballon d'Or playing for United, United fans were humble and gracious. Bobby Charlton won Ballon d'Or while playing for United, United fans remained humble and gracious. Even when he won the Golden Ball at the 1966 World Cup the United faithful took it in their stride. George Best won Ballon d'Or while playing for United we remained serenely classy. Alex Ferguson and Matt Busby were knighted due to their achievements with United we retained our poise. Cristiano Ronaldo won Ballon d'Or while with United and we kept our cool. But this enclave of shekpe drinkers, jelesinmi dropouts, and wannabe marabouts no go let person hear word again with their borrow-poseism. Borrowing the world cup titles of countries, borrowing the achievements of other clubs because their ex-players were involved in some way. Get back to us when a Chelsea player wins the Ballon d'Or, or a Chelsea player wins the best player at the world cup, or a Chelsea manager is knighted for football achievements. O shekpites! Say no to borrow-poseism, say no to attache by force, repudiate every scrub attitude sayeth the Lord. |
Lana1: ![]() Unlimited fabu. Isn’t our God a wonderful God? LMAO |
diadem10:Forget that Harrop guy, he is already 22 and scored just 2 goals and had 1 assist last season in the championship. He is just there, nothing special. He has decent technique but his lack of physical gifts will work against him in the EPL. I know Boonen well, he is Caucasian, while Bohui is black and Burkhart looks like an Arab/Berber ( also Bohui and Burkhart are both no 9s). Boonen is not as good as Chong and Gomes who are almost 1 and 2 yrs younger than him, so he isn't such a great loss. |
diadem10:I know Boonen but i don't think he has the pace or trickery needed. If he wasn't pacy but had Hazard/Iniesta technique it would be manageable but i think he is just average, he is definitely not Giggs. Hamilton may or may not be average but he is the only one in that midfield that circulates the ball the way a DM/CM should, almost all the others are runners or dribblers. He understands the position and his duties better than the others. Poole might have been a great option but he is another whose education has been marred by countless matches playing as an undersized CB and as a slow FB. The team was conceding cos all the good defenders were on loan or training with the first team, RoShaun Williams and Warren don't look like they will be good enough. |
diadem10:I have not really seen O'Connor so can't comment on him. Buffonge should get a chance especially as he is turning 20 soon, he has pace, good technique and is strong compared to Gribbin who like you said is really best suited to the 10 role because of his vision and also due to his laziness and poor work ethic. Tosin Kehinde is also a no 8 like Buffonge and not a no 6. Ethan Hamilton is probably the best no 6 in the youth ranks (though not eye catching) and i think he is more of a midfielder than McTominay whose developement was altered by positional changes and his growth spurt. You are right about Willock, he is the best box-to-box we have in the team but i don't think he has enough technical ability. Gribbin is uber talented but weak, lazy, slow and has a bad attitude. The only talented left footed attacker i remember in the youth set up is Mason Greenwood but he plays more as a striker for now, the other quick winger is Zach Dearnley but he is right footed. Though Gomes gets most of the hype i trust Chong more cos he is bigger, has more speed IMO, and very crucially is not English born. |
I am looking forward to seeing Andreas Perreira, Tahith Chong, Ethan Hamilton, Angel Gomes and even possibly Mason Greenwood get some minutes on this tour. JM should give the world cup paticipants enough rest and in doing that allow the younger ones to show us what they can do. |
A40:They have been unlucky but you may be right to an extent too. The whole nation (including the players) has been wired to believe a single player will do a Maradona and win the cup singlehandedly. And every 4 years the real Maradona comes out to heap more pressure on the team. The 02 to 10 teams were affected by coaching errors, now the team is just not good enough. |
