izzou: Politics aside, all our politicians will suffer for 600 years
The schools all have Wooden windows of the 80. The ceilings are all asbestos
My bet is that it was probably the 90 or early 2000s that they were renovated last.
Ahn Ahn. What is the crime of that LGA abi na community?
This is why when many Nigerian students go abroad, they start acing their exams. Imagine moving from this hellhole to a place where you have comfy seats, stable power, clean water, thermoregulated classrooms.
AirBere: This man lol. Why are you making the team look way worse. I don't think they were that bad. In the build up to the tournament, many people had them as one of the favourites. In the game Vs Netherlands, they were tipped to qualify by ESPN and Sky sports.
Some of their players just won the treble; Lucio, Maicon and Julio Caesar.
Dani Alves was in his prime, Juan was doing well for Roma and was a starter in 2006 as well. Michel Bastos had arguably his best season leading Lyon to the UCL semi final. Melo started strongly with Juventus before fading off but made the squad as starter just like how Acuna(Argentina) made it as a bench player for Sevilla.
Thiago Silva was on the bench and Kaka although now injury prone was still key. Luiz Fabiano was above average. The squad was not bad as you put it lol. Let's not forget Elano😜our free kick maestro.
I think that 2010 team will completely smash the 2014 team and you didn't consider throwing up on them.
For context, in my opinion, the 2010 team is not so different from the 2006 French team that reached the final.
Coupet was ahead and we all thought he was gonna start ahaed of washed Bartez, Thuram was on his last legs and I think was recalled from retirement, same with Zidane. Wth all due respect to Gallas, he was never a world class centre back. But he and Thuram did the job anyways in 006. They started slowly and eventually got there.
The point I'm trying to make here is that with a better luck and a more enterprising coach, the Brazil 2010 squad could've reached the final too. I doubt they were as bad they way you just painted them here lol.
I am talking about their style of play and the quality of football. I have watched about 10 different Brazil world cup teams. That is by far the most un-Brazilian and disgusting of all their squads. No flair and all muscle and agidi.
The only serviceable attacking player they had was Luis Fabiano. Kaka was already starting to be washed, and Robinho was utterly washed. All their good players were defenders and fullbacks, that is why you are mentioning Maicon, Dani Alves, Julio Cesar, and Lucio. The 2014 team was mediocre too, but the flair of Neymar alone made them more enjoyable to watch. That 2010 team was a crime against Brazilianity.
popizaino: For me,that's how Brazil play right from time.I was watching the replay of 2006 worldcup match between France vs. Brazil some times ago and discovered that none of them were marking except Gilberto Silva. France players were just transiting the ball easily, without any Brazilian players trying to take the ball of them except for GS. I watched another Brazil game and it was only Emerson doing the marking in the midfield. So i just concluded it's a Brazilian thing.
It is not a Brazil thing.
That 2006 team was criticized for its imbalance. Even then Ze Roberto was there to help Gilberto Silva in midfield.
1990 they used Alemao and Dunga. 1994 they used Dunga and Mauro Silva. 1998 they used Dunga and Cesar Sampaio. 2002 they planned to use Gilberto Silva and Emerson and during the tournament settled for Gilberto Silva and Kleberson. That disgusting 2010 Brazil squad finally settled on Gilberto Silva and Felipe Melo.
Brazil traditionally uses double pivot CDM in order to accommodate having overlapping fullbacks and their tricky forward players. As far back as 1982 they had Cerezo and Falcao.
P.S I just nearly threw up now just thinking of that Brazil 2010 team. What a disgusting and phucking disgraceful team.
BlueRayDick: Which one be entrenched stooge and more entrenched stooge ?
Asue would've been a stooge just as Okpheobolo and Sanwoolu are stooges jare. In fact, if we go by the kind levels wey Obaseki pull as a sitting governor where he dealt with House of Assembly members(which Fubara failed at), Obaseki would've been a very high handed godfather that can only be rivalled by Tinubu of Lagos.
You guys thought i was joking when i mentioned gymnastics. When it comes to this issue the guy is a gifted contortionist.
Leyqute: I was only asking a honest question. I thought the midfield set up would provide enough cover defensively. But for the attack to be that toothless…
You need some element of control in midfield in order to consistently create good attacks. Sometimes less in attack is more, especially when facing a home crowd and jagudas like the Argies.
If you like pack 6 attackers, if they are not getting the ball in areas that they are comfortable in, they would be wasted.
Leyqute: Joelinton did a pretty good job at stopping the opposition at Newcastle. He didn’t replicate that role and lighten Andre’s burden?
It is not about Joelinton in isolation but about team balance. They were away in a fired-up atmosphere against the area boys of world football.
Joelinton with Andre and Gomes behind him would have given them more balance and control than Joelinton with only Andre beside him.
Also Newcastle is different. He has Tonali and Bruno G with him in midfield there and even their wingers like Murphy, Willock, Gordon and co are jagudas themselves.
Roland17: If you ask me, I will suggest they go back to the basics. Successive coaches post Korea/ Japan have struggled to help Brazil create an identity with how they play.
Relying on foreign superstars hasn’t worked for them recently. I’d suggest they build their team and style around their best local players. The foreign superstars lack chemistry and cohesion when they get on the pitch.
CONMEBOL is different from European football and that is what they are missing. They are approaching games like they are playing European soccer while the likes of Argentina despite their superstars keep it CONMEBOL whenever they return home.
Yes, they have lacked cohesion and team identity but i think that has more to do with the coaching (or lack of it) than the players. The players are not the supermen of yesteryears, so they need coaching to bail them out a bit. Something similar would happen to our boys if Deschamps is left with a mediocre squad.
Look at today's game for instance. With the players available, Nunes up top with Vinicius at LW, Raphinha RW, and Joelinton, Andre, and Gomes in midfield would have given them better balance. instead, the manager started all the quality senior forwards and asked them to find a way. Playing only Andre as a laborer in midfield away to an Argentine team full of laborers is a criminal offence.
BlueRayDick: I think the problem we have is administration/management and not lack of talent.
Unless we get it right with the management of NFF and by extension management of the national team, we will always suffer this fate of not qualifying despite having superior talents in our teams almost every generation.
Yeah, it is administrative. That old NFA name fit those guys.
raumdeuter: Snooker joints for school are usually less rough except for cultists Outside school na different matter, There was a joint in Akowonjo roundabout that time "Namepocket" na soso cultism fight and police raid. I just stayed away
Most things inside school dey always dey safer compared to outside but occasionally foreign operatives dey enter campus to operate. Those ones wey their life don spoil kpata kpata and have nothing to lose.
BlueRayDick: The funny thing is that some people are still bashing Dakolo, they claim the gospel artistes charging to perform is not the same thing as Femi Lazarus charging to teach at his International school of ministry. Dem say na false equivalence.
I really don't understand why Nigerians can't see when a pastor is wrong and just tell the way the thing is . They will rather crawl through the lion's den to defend the indefensible.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that a pastor will charge other pastors to teach them how to handle their "misnistry " which is supposed to revolve around the gospel
BlueRayDick: Those snooker joints used to be rough no lies! Na fight dey always end most of the games sef.
That bottle and knife stabbing na regular occurrence and that's why police always raid them back in the days.
Snooker joints rough. Water and oil dey mix wella for there.
Snooker joints, beer parlours, clubs. For the same table you fit see person wey dey work for oil and gas, medical student, OPC thug, uni admin worker, and armed robber.
BlueRayDick: On Saturday myself and 2 of my friends had a hangout at an indoor lounge that has a sports bar where we decided to just drink and catch up on old times.
One of my two friends saw the snooker board and said he wants to play but surprising myself and the other friend don't know how to play. He was now asking how we can be guys who grew up on the streets and don't know how play snooker?
I told him when we were much younger police regularly raid snooker joints and game centers where they arrest young boys at random and their parents will have to bail them later in the day or the next day. The fear that if police should arrest me in a Snooker joint, my parents will nearly kill me made me to never go near any snooker joint till I became an adult. That fear of parents really instilled some levels of discipline in us growing up o
We had a snooker joint on medical school campus, and 4 booze joints (3 in students area and 1 in staff area), and a video game joint. And police no dey enter.
I think it was not until some external boys designed one of my guy’s face with bottle on top snooker gambling before the student union government closed off the snooker joint. The guy still get the scars today.
semid4lyfe: E be like say na only me no sabi nada about organized betting.
The last time I ever staked money on betting was when I rolled dice in Sec Schl. Simple and easy stuff.
All the buzz words, terms and phrases be like swahili to me.
Anyways, from the negative perception and comments on betting I've gathered here, it seems this my ignorance of betting is bliss so I'll continue in it.
I have never staked money on betting in my life.
I don’t know even know how to read a gambling slip cos all those numbers look like Greek to me.
I had friends that were chronic cards, video games and snooker gamblers in Uni but I was just an observer. Some of them even gambled on video game football matches that I participated in but my own money no come out. I was the Barcelona or AC Milan wey dem dey bet on top. LOL
CapitalCee: Our Scouts na for social media their own scouting de be. Na player wey de trend we de sign, we no de unearth our own surprise star. Yoro de reign we go sign am for over 50m pounds whereas Huijsen is there for 18m. All these players wey Brigton dey sign from no where our scouts no de reason reach yhat side.
That is why i have been preaching the gospel of broad accountability for years. Everybody has a part to play. It is not right to pile on only the manager while some people go to work every 9am and close at 5pm at United without doing their jobs, and even worse still, without being held accountable for their incompetence.
