Orikinla:
I was one of the VIPs invited to the much publicized Showbiz Interactive Night with President Goodluck Jonathan Sunday evening on March 15, 2015, at the Eko Convention Centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Lagos. And it was a star studded spectacular night of fantastic musical and comic performances by both older and younger musicians and comedians, including King Sunny Ade, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Orit Wiliki, Ras Kimono, Gordons, Klint the Drunk, Funny Bone, Harrysong, Kcee, Oritse Femi, Dbanj, Timi Dakolo and Waje. And almost all the most celebrated Nollywood stars were there, but Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Kate Henshaw were missing at the event coordinated by President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mrs. Ibinabo Fiberesima-Egbuka and her immediate predecessor Segun Arinze who made the event a night to remember. Richard Mofe-Damijo and Ayo Makun, aka AY of "30 Days in Atlanta" fame were comperes and they were very good. Famous singers Yinka Davies and Waje interacted with me as we sat around our table with famous actor Joseph Benjamin and another actor.

President Jonathan came with his special entourage, including Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, Tony Elumelu, Chairman, Heirs Holdings; Mr Jim Ovia, Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc and Jimi Agbaje, gubernatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Lagos who interacted with several people. I waited until after the event to say hello and we shook hands with "Up Gregs!" the common praise chant used by both present and old students of the famous St. Gregory's College, Lagos.

Interacting with President Goodluck Jonathan and Jimi Agbaje did not change my mind on my decision to endorse and support the presidential flag bearer lof the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd) and APC’s Lagos governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Dolapo Ambode who will definitely succeed Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola in 2015, whether the hypocrites and sycophants of the PDP like it or not.
Jimi Agbaje does not have grassroots support and actually waiting for how the domino effect of President Jonathan winning the presidential election will favour him which is unrealistic for any serious political leader. And his political media campaign is misconstrued by the agency he contracted.
Majority of the voters in Lagos state don't even know what BOLD IDEAS Jimi Agbaje is talking about when he has never been bold in his contributions to the development of Lagos state.
How many people has he given jobs?
How many people has he given scholarships?
What achievements can he prove he has achieved for Lagos state?
Good one there
You said you will not support Jimi because of the highlighted but you will support Buhari and I will ask you
How many people has Buhari given jobs? He only sacked people
How many people has he given scholarships? All his kids studied abroad
What has he achieved for himself or Nigeria
What does he have to offer?

agabal23, the gej campaigning today will make ayman al zawahiri a co-signatory to our foreign reserves if the guy will help him win on march 28th so I'm not taken in by what you put up there.

I deal with the oil industry and I see the damage being done to the economy everyday through officially sanctioned oil theft yet asari, tompolo etc pocket billions every year via pipeline 'surveillance' contracts. I see a govt that was lucky to sell oil above $100 dollars for 3 years yet in less than 6months of oil price crash, had no choice but to devalue the naira to cushion govt bankruptcy.

My younger brother schools abroad and the naira devaluation already set me back by 350k on his expenses between January and now.

These are what I see and experience and I don't want a continuity of this.

I have only one vote which might amount to nothing in the final analysis but gej surely isn't getting it.

Cheers my friend....I dey go sleep wink
I put up facts my friend and you can crosscheck it. You should listen to voice of reason.

Oil bunkeringhttp://www.nairaland.com/256158/bunkering-jtf-go-after-retired

Unless you have evidence, I don't want to believe the president sanctioned anything. A story told by an eyewitness here on why bunkering will not die easily comes to mind. The summary is that the govt agencies who are supposed to resist are approached on deal basis with strong wadd of dollars that will make Saka faint on stage. They collect and look the other way.

If you have other evidence, make it open.

Sorry about the extra quid

Were you not here when the opposition friendly house of rep had in the past continuously jacked up the benchmark against NOI advice? I think 2013 was a special case because it delayed the budget for a long time. They wanted the benchmark at 80 abi 90$.Were you not here when the govs led by Amaechi went to court to request that excess crude be shared? They cited the unconstitutionality of excess crude account. The sovereign wealth fund was created. They kicked against it. All the APC governors were there. Even if the savings were still there, the fall in oil price is a tsunami and it is one I like somehow. We should stop our overdependence on oil. Thank God for GEJ. Hopefully, the north will allow true federalism.

I need your vote sha. Reason is, we have to resist the west. The EU is not happy we refused to sign the thread agreement which is jeopardising one goal of their 2008 raw material initiative. Merkel even threatened that they will withhold aid for any country that refuses to sign the agreement. Gbagbo was disgraced out of office because he wanted French companies to process cocoa into coffee in Ivory coast which meant closure of companies and loss of jobs.
The west cannot get interested if they have nothing to lose. The pib is not good economically to Britain (Shell) and US(Chevron)....

If there are 35,000 km of federal roads in Nigeria and here you are claiming GEJ has constructed 20,000kms out of that numbers, I will like to beg you to mention those roads constructed out of the few Federal road in Lagos and Ogun between 2011 till date. And FYI, those 35,000 kms of federal roads are measured in length and not by your PDP ways of calculating kms of roads.

I still maintain my stand that your claim about electricity too is bogus.
When was the last time you travelled if you are in Nigeria?
The longest road in Nigeria will connected Lagos to Maiduguri and that's 1,541.5 km. Tell me how you will come about 35000 km Fed roads. As per the roads, search Nairaland. You will see. If you ask nicely, I get the info for you. BTW, I'm not PDP. I don't have PDP card. I'm a Nigerian

I will reply your other points later but let me quickly chip-in that I live in a ' major city ' and electricity is even getting worse. I hardly enjoy a 3hours electricity in a day and have only slept with electricity from the govt less than 10times in the last 15months even though I live a stone throw to the Government house. Infact as I type, I have not seen that your electricity today and no hope that we will be supplied the electricity tomorrow.

The claim on 20,000 kms of road is equally a joke taken too far and you yourself can't defend that number.
Well, availability of electricity has many factors, local and federal. Something like increasing the capacity of your transformer and the mm of your cable can change a lot. I have witnessed that. If you don't talk, no one will see.

If you know that a dual carriageway has 4 lanes and if you know that a 500 km dual carriageway is equivalent to 2000km of roads, you won't argue sir. There are 35,000 km of Federal roads in Nigeria. Most are dual carriage and some are 6 lanes at some points. 35, 000 divided by 4 is 8750 km. So 20,000 km single lane is equal to 5000km of dual carriageway.

Hi my friend. Trust you're doing great?? wink

You're wrong on this info. In 2011, we had the following presidential candidates

PDP..............gej
ANPP...........Shekarau
CPC..............buhari

Shekarau as sitting governor was soundly defeated by buhari in kano. Then Kwankwaso was in PDP. I don't know how PDP wishes to do it, kano is a no go area for any buhari opponent irrespective of who decamps from APC.

I saw kwankwaso, tinubu with Hausa leaders in Lagos on channelstv news at 10pm and heard him issue a stern warning to fayose over his unabated insults on GMB. That doesn't look like someone about to dump buhari or APC methinks
I'm doing good my friend? What about you.

Apologies on the mix up.

It however does not change my argument.

I acknowledged the fact that Kano worships Buhari but things could get better for GEJ if two opponents are to back GEJ.

Seeing them together means nothing. If kwankwaso wants to sabotage Buhari, he may not want to come out in the open. It may backfire whenever he wants to come out for anything. He is contesting for senate now.
GEJ is a disaster in human skin!!! Am sure if your family members had been victims of Jonathan's ineptitude and corruption, you would have a different view. Pls can you mention the cardinal functions of government and also tell us the ones in which Jonathan has done well ? My guy, it is bad to have bad leaders but it is calamitous to have followers who are so dumb as to suffer and smile. If a person doesn't see anything wrong in mediocrity in governance, such a person should not attempt to preach to others not to
air their views. A president under whom a single woman claimed to have spent 10billion naira to hire jets, 29billion naira stollen from pension
fund, military reduced to mere political goons, billions of dollars military budget shared among army officers to bribe them for election,
hundreds of promising young girls taken away in Chibok like fowls, billions of naira waisted on electricity and roads with the money finding it's
way to Jonathan and his cronies'private pockets, total destruction of our socio- cultural and religious heritage by using huge bribery to lure
traditional and religious leaders to turn their back against decorum, just to mention but a few should be voted out, prosecuted and be left to rotten in jail. Ah my brother this criminal has wrecked more havoc than you can think of in your widest imagination!!!!!!
You have an opinion and I will respect it but I choose to disagree your opinion. Saying that GEJ is a disaster in human skin is turning the truth upside down as long as his presidency is concerned. You are talking like someone who is based abroad forgive me if I am wrong.

You got to know about the corruption because of the FOI which he signed into law.

10 billion: Have you listened to her explanation as to why the agency has to hire private jet? If you have not, tell me and I will help you with information. If you have and you chose to be harping on it, Goodluck to you.

29 billion or 2 billion : The man involved in this was tried and let lightly by the court exploiting the holes in our constitution. Jonathan convened the national conference to review the constitution so that the loopholes that thieves exploit to go unpunished are plugged but APC refused to participate. Since the pension saga, a software has been installed to manage pension funds and pension management has been smooth and fool proof. I am sure you will not like to see such information

Roads: If you say that billions of naira spent on road go into private pockets, you are being sentimental because that is exactly what you want it to be not what it is. About 20,000 km of roads has been added since 2011. Assuming 1 km of road is built at the cost of 1.2 billion naira like some APC states, 20,000x1,200,000,000 =That translates to 24 Trillion naira. How much is our total budget for 4 years? highest has been 4.6 trillion. Total is less than 20 trillion which is less than the 24 trillion. No money has gone into anyone's pocket like you want to be.

Electricity: because you have not seen desired improvement in power sector does not mean the money has been squandered. There has been considerable improvement from an average of less than 10 hrs per day to over 15 hr per day. If you have built a house before, You will understand that after roofing, so much money go into the house without visible change to the building. We are at the stage
Chibok girls: A tragic situation. I wish they have been found but trust me GEJ is doing everything possible to find them. if you think he is not doing anything, well it is your opinion

I will suggest that you don't take everything you read against GEJ as the cardinal truth because you will be doing yourself a disservice.

I'm surprised an intelligent guy like you feels this spells more votes for PDP grin grin grin
In 2011, CPC (Buhari's party) had just one Governor in Nigeria (Nasarrawa State) yet the Gentle man swept a great percentage of Northern votes despite PDP having 11 Northern Governors. Buhari scored 1.6m while Jonathan scored 444,000 votes in Kano State in 2011.

This defection doesn't affect Buhari's Kano votes in anyway..I'm 150% sure of that grin grin
Right General, you have a point. However, lets look at it this way. We had Shekarau and Kwankwaso in opposing camps in 2011. My feeling is that Kwankwaso is not gonna bring out his head to support Buhari because of his personal ambition. I have been saying this before this defection which kind of gives more credence to what I have said. You and I know that if Jonathan wins, he stands a better chance of being a president in 2019 after only 4 years. If Buhari wins, he will stay 8 years and if God forbid he dies before, then SW will take from there. At least 8 years before he can smell it.

So an intelligent option is to support GEJ. Presently Kwankwasiya group has a very large followership. If he teams up with Shekarau, GEJ may do better than I have expected. He has never won Kano but he may win it to everyone's surprise this time. So this defection is significant
