ramdris:
Yeye pple. Playing politics with pple's pain.

Why I am not in support of what is happening in Osun State, PDP should stop pretending they care cos we know them. The salary issue cut across many states including PDP states.

The problem those states are facing arose due to their own ineptitude and they should stop rubbing salt in pples wounds by forming they are pro masses.

I pray something good comes up for the suffering workers all around the country. These Governors are still earning their own salary and yet keep coming up with excuses to pay workers.

All these will continue until the day we all start rising against these polithievians gulping our collective wealth.

Nairaland GeneralWell, Oyedepo Didn’t Say The ‘gates Of Hell’ Statement In D Video by Agali10(op): 9:00pm On Jan 26, 2015
A video has surfaced online, in reaction
to reports that the presiding pastor of
Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo,
vowed to “open the gates of hell” on the
opponents of President Goodluck
Jonathan, during a church service on
Sunday, January 25.
In the 6-minute video, which is definitely
not the entirety of the sermon, Oyedepo
never made the statement attributed to
him.
In the clip, the cleric asked the church to
pray for the president, who was present
among the congregation.
Oyedepo said: “I proclaim blessings as a
priest of God over the president, and the
blessings will answer. Lift our president
unto God, intercede for him. We pray for
unusual release of grace for our
president. Under him, grant Nigeria
peace and progress.”
Nairaland GeneralWhat Bishop Oyedepo Really Said by Agali10(op): 2:02pm On Jan 26, 2015
Bishop Oyedepo said: "All those
opposing and are
against the peace of Nigeria, God would
open the gates of hell to them". These
were
his words.
But propagandalists party who strives in
lies
twisted the word from the Bishop
because they
already knew that they are the enemies
of Nigeria
who want to take over presidency by
evil means.
Note:
I was in the service today. It was our
thanksgiving service today after the
21days
fasting period.

According to the letter written by Gumi,
which has been recently re-echoed by
the report of the ICG, as long as anyone
of Jonathan or Buhari leads Nigeria, the
country would continue to witness crises.
It appears the only solution to an
extension of the present crises plaguing
the country, is for the PDP and APC to
field other candidates. In a situation
where both refuse, the remaining
political parties should present to the
masses a credible candidate as an
alternative to both Jonathan and Buhari.
As things stand, aside the Citizens
Popular Party (CPP), no other political
party is fielding a candidate to contest
the 2015 presidential election. Not long
ago, the All Progressives Grand Alliance
(APGA) said it had adopted President
Jonathan as its presidential candidate.
The Labour Party (LP), on its part remains
undecided but would likely not field any
candidate for the presidency.
The CPP’s candidate is a relatively
unknown businessman, Mr. Michael
Ovienmhada, whose party does not have
the financial war chest of both Jonathan
and Buhari’s APC but, Ovienmhada
boasts of a “great” manifesto, if he is
given the chance by the masses in 2015
to lead Nigeria.
During his declaration sometime in
October, Ovienmhada promised the
following: “To the children of this
country, I say, there is a promise and a
hope for you. We will make the necessary
investment to ensure Free and
qualitative education from Kindergarten
to SS3 in every community across the
land to ensure that no child is left
behind.
“No child should go to school without a
computer. No child should go to school
without shoes. No child should travel
more than half a mile to attend school.
No child should go to school hungry and
no child should return from school
hungry.
“We will restore the dignity and prestige
of teachers. We will restore the past glory
of our teacher training institutes.
“To the youth of this country, I have a
new deal for you. When you pass JAMB,
you will take your admission letter to an
education bank which I will establish to
get an education loan to attend any
higher institution of your choice and you
will have 20 years post-graduation to pay
it back.
“It is absolutely imperative that this
happens very quickly as our young men
now enter universities hoping they will
figure out a way to get through school
while our young girls have already
figured it out.
“Agriculture has a very long value chain
and is most suitable for mass job
creation. Thailand for example cultivates
9.3 million hectares of land for rice alone
and they have cured unemployment
which now stands at 0.062 percent.
Nigeria has 83 million hectares of land,
almost double the size of Thailand. If
Thailand can cure unemployment, so can
we.
“Each hectare cultivated for rice can
provide 15 jobs down the value chain
from land preparation, to planting,
weeding, harvesting, loading, milling,
polishing, bagging, transportation,
warehousing, banking, etc. I have a plan
to cultivate 3 million hectares across 26
rice producing states over a 4-year
period and create over 45 million jobs
for our teeming youth population.
“We import 95% of the sugar we
consume in this country, whereas, all we
need to do is cultivate 250,000 hectares
of sugarcane to become sugar sufficient
and create hundreds of thousands of
new jobs for our people.
“Nigeria which used to be a leading
exporter of Cocoa now produces a mere
200,000 tonnes annually versus Ivory
Coast which produces over 3 Million
tonnes. We must get back on the top.
This time we will add value by making
chocolates for export.
“In recent years, the United Arab
Emirates and several countries in the
Gulf Region have been touring the world
in search of land to grow food for
exclusive export to their country. We will
go out and get their business. Nigeria will
not only become self-sufficient in food
production under my administration, we
will also become net exporters of food.
“We spend $15Billion every year to
import rice, wheat, sugar and fish all of
which we can grow and produce here.
We can save $15Billion used to import
food yearly and gain foreign exchange by
becoming a net exporter instead. This
way, we will have money to fund
education and build local infrastructure.
“We will deregulate the oil Industry
completely and encourage the
proliferation of small refineries to meet
our local demand. We will help the illegal
refineries become legal by helping them
build capacity and helping them to
develop the right tools to do a better
job…
“Revitalisation of Ajaokuta and all the
Steel Rolling Mills to launch Nigeria into
the industrial age will be a cornerstone
of my administration. This will put
Nigeria in a position to build ships, cars,
armored tanks, caterpillars, helicopters
and planes.
“Ajaokuta can employ about two million
people when completed. For every steel
job, 3 more jobs will be created in other
sectors. For example, every car has
33,000 individual parts. We can easily
become the spare parts capital of the
world and start to export car parts to the
world.
“The solution to our power problems lies
in localisation. If I live in Surulere, I do
not need power transmitted to me from
Afam Power station. I need a company to
come to Surulere and generate 10MW to
serve Surulere. Let them build a local
grid and run cables to my home.
Ovienmhada is disadvantaged as being
an “untested” aspirant and so may
witness several roadblocks by the
establishment. But, if the voting
population can connect with his
manifesto, and the general election next
year is free and fair as being promised
by Jonathan, then he may have a
chance.
Also, the need to forestall a
disintegration of the country by voting an
alternative president could spur the
masses on his side.

Executive Briefing
Outside the veteran presidential
aspirants currently dotting the turf is the
imperative of neutral choice that could
fill into the bill of a dream president. Ojo
M. Maduekwe writes
THISDAY reported on Sunday that the
International Crisis Group (ICG) “has
warned that prevailing indices suggest
Nigeria is heading towards a very volatile
and vicious electoral contest.”
An independent, non-profit, non-
governmental organisation committed to
preventing and resolving deadly conflict,
the group was quoted to have warned in
its report that, “If this violent trend
continues, and particularly if the vote is
close, marred or followed by widespread
violence, it would deepen Nigeria’s
already grave security and governance
crises.”
Some of the forecast highlighted by the
group were: “Factional feuds within both
parties could degenerate into violence
during their national and state primaries.
Competing claims to the presidency,
between northern leaders and their
Niger Delta counterparts, could also
result in violence in either or both
regions, particularly after the polls.
“As in 2011, clashes could erupt in some
northern states if the APC, whose
frontrunners are all northerners, loses
the polls; there is similarly a high risk of
violence if the PDP loses the presidency,
particularly in the Niger Delta, home
region of the party’s candidate, President
Goodluck Jonathan.”
According to THISDAY, the group advised
that the government, its agencies and all
other national figures must work urgently
to ensure that the vote is not conducted
in an explosive situation.
From the look of things, the build-up to
the 2015 elections would continue to
witness increasing crises. The signs are
already manifesting. On November 20,
the Nigeria Police Force teargased House
of Representatives lawmakers trying to
gain entrance to the National Assembly
complex.
The lawmakers, mostly from the
opposition All Progressives Congress
(APC), included the Speaker, Aminu
Tambuwal, had resumed to consider a
request by President Goodluck Jonathan
to extend the emergency rule in the
three North-eastern States of Yobe,
Borno and Adamawa. When refused
entrance by police officers, they resorted
to scaling the complex gate.
On the same day, in another
development, seven PDP House of
Assembly members in Ekiti State, in an
abuse of the 1999 Constitution
impeached the Speaker of the 26-
member Assembly, Adewale Omirin and
his deputy, Adetunji Orisalade. They
replaced them with Dele Olugbemi and
Abeni Olayinka as Speaker and deputy
respectively.
The Speaker and his deputy, both
members of the APC were impeached
amid tight security provided by the
police. The seven lawmakers had on
Monday, November 17, sat in a similar
fashion to approve the three
commissioner-nominees of the state
governor, Ayodele Fayose, a PDP
member.
They also approved the appointment of
12 advisers and reconstituted the
caretaker committees of the State 16
Local Government Areas. Olugbemi had
presided over the House then as Speaker
pro-tempore.
The deepening political crisis in Nigeria
has provoked human rights lawyer, Femi
Falana, in calling “all the genuine
democratic forces who led the Nigerian
people to fight against unending military
rule and who equally defeated the cabal
that attempted to take advantage of
President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s ill-
health to seize power from the then
acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan,”
to help salvage the situation.
Judging from the report of the ICG, the
halting of “the implosion of fascism on
the nation by the Jonathan
administration,” according to Falana, is
just one side to the coin of the problem.
Any attempt at salvaging the current
democracy, if misinterpreted by some
elements in the Niger Delta as a ploy to
“deny” them the presidency, could lead
to greater problems.
It is for the above reason that Islamic
Cleric, Sheikh Gumi, before Falana called
on “democratic forces” to salvage Nigeria,
made the wider suggestion for the ruling
PDP to dump its presidential candidate,
Jonathan, by fielding another person,
and the opposition APC presidential
aspirant, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to
reconsider his ambition to contest the
presidency.

PoliticsRe: Neither Buhari Nor Jonathan by Agali10(op): 8:17pm On Dec 28, 2014
HOW WOULD YOU HANDLE THE
ALMAJIRI CLERICS WHO ARE BENT ON
PERPETUATING THE SYSTEM: I will work
with them, not against them. We will
collaborate. It must be a win- win
situation for the cleric, the child and the
nation. I will help the cleric enhance his
infrastructure where he is. I will seek to
make a deal with the cleric. There are so
many hours in a day. You can teach the
kids Islamic studies up till 10 am every
morning and then other teachers will
come and take over to teach.
My challenge would be how to build
human capital across the length and
breadth of Northern Nigeria to
transform the entire landscape in a few
short years. My heart weeps anytime I
see a young northerner pushing a
wheelbarrow or a grown adult man
carrying a tray of Kolanuts with a total
value of N500. Where is his pathway out
of poverty and disease? His IQ may be
higher than those of us sitting at this
bar but we will never find out because
he never got a chance. There was not a
single dry eye in the crowd.
HOW WILL YOU ATTACK
UNEMPLOYMENT: Agriculture provides
the key to tackling unemployment
because of the long value chain
involved. From land preparation to
planting, to nurturing, to harvesting to
milling, packaging, warehousing,
retailing and banking, you can create 15
jobs from one hectare of rice cultivation.
I will embark on Agricultural revolution
on a scale that this country has never
seen. Across 26 rice producing states,
we will begin to build agricultural
communities that are youth friendly
with internet access. We will provide
support systems to make the
communities self sustaining and in one
year, we can become self sufficient in
rice production while creating millions
of jobs for our people. If for example we
cultivate 3 million hectares of land for
rice, we would be creating 45 million
jobs down the value chain. Thailand has
cured unemployment through Rice
cultivation. Unemployment in Thailand
is at 0.062 percent. We can do better
than that. We have two times the land
size of Thailand and we have great
climate. What is wrong with us?
HOW DO YOU PLAN TO STOP
IMPORTATION OF PETROL:
I will start by legalizing all the illegal
refineries in the Niger Delta region. We
will help them to build capacity and
enhance standards. Instead of stealing
the crude, they will be happy to pay for
it and do their work openly. A
gentleman whose illegal refinery was
destroyed by the Joint Task Force said
he invested N11 Million in his refinery
and he had the ability to refine 20
barrels a day. This is home grown
technology. It should be encouraged
and not destroyed. If they are legalized,
safety will be enhanced and their
processes will improve and they will pay
taxes and hire people. I will ensure the
immediate passage of the PIB bill by
giving the North a quick win with the
promise of enhanced exploration of
crude oil in the Chad Basin and
accelerated development of Solid
Minerals in Northern Nigeria. We will
empower young men and women in
Northern Nigeria to form themselves
into bigger companies and we will give
them capital and equipment to exploit
Solid Minerals across the region. The
immediate passage of the PIB bill will
ensure the co-operation of host
communities as they now stand to
benefit. It will also speed up
investments that had been locked up
because of uncertainty.
HOW WILL YOU SOLVE ELECTRICITY:
That is the easiest thing to do. My first
major task as President will be to repeal
the Electricity Act of 2005. You cannot tie
a man’s hands and ask him to go and
box. The law is bad. We will change it
and open up the industry completely.
Total deregulation is the key. When we
deregulate, companies will immediately
take over viable local governments
across the country and begin to
generate power and build local grids in
your local community. The government
would have only two roles in electricity,
first through the Nigerian Electricity
Regulatory Commission to ensure that
customers are not exploited. Secondly,
the government can continue to operate
its national grid as a social service to
reach the rural areas to encourage
commerce. If I live in Gwarimpa, I need
a company to come to Gwarimpa,
generate 10MW and run cables to my
house and collect their money through
pre-paid meters. Localisation is the
solution to power. The crowd began to
clap.
By the end of the explanation on the
solution to the electricity problem,
needless to say, no one was still ready
to support Buhari or Goodluck. I had all
their votes.
PoliticsNeither Buhari Nor Jonathan by Agali10(op): 8:14pm On Dec 28, 2014
A few days ago, I was in a bar in Abuja
with a few friends to relax for the
evening. Sitting next to us at another
table were a group of men arguing
loudly about Jonathan and Buhari
regarding our choice for President in
2015. It was interesting to watch and
see how animated the people were. Of
the six men at the other table, four of
them were from the South East, one
from Plateau and one from Kogi and all
of them were Christians. On my table
were three people, two gentlemen and
a lady, all of them from the South East. I
am from the South-South. What I found
interesting was that as the argument
raged, support for either candidate was
anchored around personalities and
their antecedents. Religion was never
mentioned. The fellow from Plateau was
the only person under 30. Everyone else
was above 50. From the other table, 4
people there including the two from the
South East supported Buhari while only
one person, the fellow from Kogi
supported Goodluck. The young man
was neutral. After over two hours of
talking during which time I tried to
redirect them to the issues away from
the personalities, I pulled out one of my
handbills and a newspaper interview by
THISDAY on my candidacy titled: The
Alternative President. Immediately,
silence fell upon the crowd as they
passed the handbill around. The
reaction from the crowd was instant as
they looked up at me and looked at the
pictures. From that point on, the
gathering morphed into a Town Hall
meeting.
HOW WOULD YOU FIX EDUCATION: I will
declare a state of emergency on
education in the country with emphasis
on Northern Nigeria. I will create a
Nigerian Emergency Education Fund
(NEEF) to aggressively fish out and
compel young and old to get an
education as the surest and quickest
way out of poverty. I will raise the
example of Qatar and Oman and Dubai
as examples in the Muslim world were
education is anchoring the society. I will
make the argument to the North that
education is not Western. Education
came from Egypt. It is their heritage.
They should embrace it. For tertiary
education, I will establish an Education
Bank which will be a desk in every Bank
to reduce administrative costs. Every
person who passes JAMB and gets
admission to a tertiary institution will be
entitled to an education loan once they
get their admission letter. That is the
only requirement. The loan is on the
student, not the parents. You will have
20 years to pay back after graduation.
Interest rate will be at 5%. The crowd
began to clap. It was electrifying.

IN 2001 at an Islamic seminar in Kaduna,
Buhari was given an opportunity to choose
between Nigeria’s secularism and
fundamentalist Islam, this is what he said;
“I will continue to show openly and inside
me the total commitment to the Sharia
movement that is sweeping all over
Nigeria”, he then added that; “God willing,
we will not stop the agitation for the total
implementation of the Sharia in the
country”.Buhari an advocate of sharia was
chosen to address that seminar in Kaduna
because of his advocacy and he did not
disappoint because he is one of the
boardroom voices of Sharia.
The boardroom advocates emboldened
the weak minded and impressionable
youths and female suicide bombers. Those
who prepare such extremist point to such
“moral exemplars” that dying for Sharia is
a worthy cause. It does not matter if one is
campaigning by selling democracy to
unsuspecting non-Muslims like a salesman
selling snake-oil, they all have a common
goal but different modus operandi. The
boardroom voices, the elite prepare
breeding ground for the field-soldiers,
they prepare the ideological diet upon
which the adherents feed.
Today many Nigerians are concerned that
our society has degenerated to a point
where people wake up on a particular day
and go to public places like a market to kill
their neighbours with bombs. But these
bombers did not just wake up one day to
take such a fatalistic decision. The suicide
bomber dies for a cause after a lengthy
ideological and psychological diet . A cause
he or she has been made to believe to be
a worthy cause, It is immaterial that the
suicide bomber has chosen a course of
action different from the other advocates
of the cause, but they have similar
objectives, to spread Sharia to every
corner of Nigeria, and in that goal, Boko
Haram and other fundamentalists have
many elite who have created a breeding
ground for their actions in Nigeria.
General Muhammadu Buhari
General Muhammadu Buhari
Other elite voice who have helped to
ensure the social and political mobilization
against Nigeria’s secular status, and who
create a breeding ground for groups like
Boko Haram include, former governor Kure
of Kaduna state who was also in the same
Kaduna seminar with Buhari. At the
aforementioned seminar, the then
Governor Kure urged all council members
to ensure that the Nigerian constitution
was “upgraded” in all states to ensure that
the basic objectives of the Sharia legal
code was achieved all over Nigeria. He
gained the support of other elite such as
former minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sani
Zango Daura, as well as emir of Suleja,
Alhaji Awwal Ibrahim, who refused to pay
a condolence visit to the Suleja church
that was bombed by Boko Haram on a
Christmas day until political pressure was
put on him.
These boardroom voices of sharia have not
concealed their position. It is only other
Nigerians who have tried to polish their
position to make it an acceptable
perception for political convenience, but
the advocates for the spread of sharia to
every facet of Nigerian life have never
disguise their goal. For instance, a very
notable advocate of Sharia, Senator Sani
Yerima, former governor of Zamfara state,
robustly defended his advocacy and had
the support of several other elite with
similar conviction in the Senate when the
status of women was being debated. To
make his sharia values clear, Yerima who
had earlier defended his marriage to a 13
year old in contradiction of Section 21 of
the Child Welfare Act told the Senate that,
when a woman is married at whatever age
even at 11years, she instantaneously
reaches the full age of adulthood. This is
not very different from recent laws
purveyed by ISIL which justified
enslavement of girls, including their
defilement if they are non-Muslim
captives.
This is the type of ideological commitment
that Buhari will bring to the presidency if
voted in. It is quite easy to state on
television and radio interviews that he is
bound by Nigerian laws as if its only when
he occupies the office of the presidency
that he will be bound by the law of the
land. When he becomes head of state who
will be there at those quite moments when
this values influence his decisions on
official matters? He has made his
ideological position quite clear when he
stated in the Kaduna seminar that the
spread of Sharia is ‘’a legal responsibility
which God has given us, within the context
of one Nigeria to continue to uphold the
practice of Sharia wholeheartedly and to
educate non-Muslims, what remains for
muslims in Nigeria is for them to redouble
their efforts, educate muslims on the need
to promote the full implementation of
sharia law”Buhari has made his advocacy
for sharia clear, those who wish to vote
him to power can either accept it or
pretend that it does not matter, just as
those who said naively that Yerima was
harmless later expresed shock when he
eventually stopped the Senate from
reviewing our laws on the legal age of a
woman and we are today stuck with his
sharia version.
As Boko Haram has demonstrated
viciousness, so shall we will come to find
that Buhari, a promoter and advocate of
Sharia as president of the federal
government of Nigeria would direct the
thinking of his adherents and their
attitude to governance. This would spell
doom for all non muslims in Nigeria that
Gen.Buhari said should be educated to
accept and embrace sharia now being
enforced by Boko Haram through violence
and killings.
