The second batch of 315 South Africa returnees have arrived Nigeria, Igbere TV reports. They arrived into the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

Igbere TV reports that the Air Peace aircraft conveying them touched ground at about 7:21pm, at the International Wing of the MMIA Airport.

The returnees were received by the CEO of Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, Mrs Abike Dabiri and Air Peace Founder, Mr Allen Onyema.

Their return to Nigeria comes barely a week after Air Peace airlifted the first batch of 176 Nigerians, and barely 24 hours after the House of Reps showered encomium on Air Peace CEO for his magnanimity.

Nigerians on social media have reacted to the eviction of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Khafi, from the reality show, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV had reported that Khafi was evicted from the 'Pepper Dem' edition of Big Brother on Sunday, September 15, during the live eviction show.

Her eviction has left 10 housemates battling for the grand prize of N60m.

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Khafi Kareem, has been evicted from the reality show, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV had reported that the UK Metro police officer was evicted during the live show on Sunday.

During her stay in the House, in the ongoing 'Pepper Dem' edition, Khafi won N1 million, a car and lots of other gift items.

In her post-eviction interview, Khafi spoke about Gedoni, and how she also plan to move to Lagos from London and start a new career.

The House of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ibadan has upheld the elections of two legislators of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Oyo State Assembly, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that the three-man panel of justices Tribunal led by D. M. Igyuse upheld the elections of Messrs Olasunkanmi Babalola (Egbeda State Constituency) and Akeem Adeshina (Iwajowa State Constituency).

Igbere TV had reported that the duo were dragged before the Tribunal by their All Progressives Congress (APC) opponents in the last general election to challenge their victory.

Babalola, who is the Deputy Majority leader of the Oyo Assembly, was dragged to the Tribunal by Mr Olalekan Usman, while Adeshina was challenged at the Tribunal by Mr Johnson Eroyalesun.

In its ruling on Monday, the Tribunal dismissed the separate petitions on account that the petitioners could neither prove nor establish their claims of irregularities in the election.

A dwarf, identified simply as Anayo, received the beating of his life after a man raised alarm over his missing penis, accusing him of being responsible, Igbere TV reports.

Mr Anayo was accused of causing the sudden disappearance of the manhood of the man, who raised the alarm, after he allegedly shook hands with him.

Igbere TV gathered that the shocking incident happened on Saturday, September 14, at Obiagu axis of Ogui Community in Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria.

The Enugu State police Spokesperson, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the development in a statement, said that the command was working to unravel the "misery".

The statement reads;

“The Enugu state command of the Nigeria police force through its operatives of Ogui Division are trying to unravel the mystery surrounding an alleged complaint of feeling of weakness of a male genital organ of a man shortly after his handshake with a man in Enugu.

“It was gathered that the alleged victim who gave his name as one Sunday Ebubechukwu of Obiagu axis of Ogui Enugu had raised an alarm which had attracted sympathizers to the scene at Obiagu on the ground that someone whom he allegedly had handshake with, may have caused the instant weakness of his manhood thereby causing his manhood disappear.

“It was however gathered that this instantly prompted sympathizers around to descend heavily on the alleged suspect identified as one Anayo who is also said to be a physically challenged person.He was said to be receiving beating of his life before police operatives fromOgui Division promptly intervened.A full scale investigations has begun over the alleged incident.”

National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and his successor, Governor Godwin Obaseki, were spotted recently together at a public function, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that both leaders were spotted on Saturday in Benin City, at the 90th birthday anniversary of Chief Sam Igbe, the Iyase of Benin Kingdom.

This will be the first time Oshiomhole and his successor, who have been at loggerheads over the control of Edo Assembly, will be seen together at a public function.

Igbere TV understands that Obaseki, who have openly confronted his predecessor accusing him of skimming to deny him a second ticket, have been avoiding him in recent times.

The Iyase’s birthday ceremony, Igbere TV gathered, held at Our Saviour Church, Diocese of Benin Anglican Communion, where Obaseki described the celebrant as an icon of the Benin culture.

The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ibadan will on Monday deliver judgment in a petition seeking to upturn the election of Engr. Seyi Makinde as Governor of Oyo State, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Mr Bayo Adelabu, are challenging the victory of Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 9, 2019 poll.

The APC and its candidate are alleging that Makinde of the PDP was not lawfully elected, insisting that the election was marred with violence and massive rigging.

But the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is urging the Tribunal to dismiss the petition for “lacking in substance” and being “grossly unmeritorious.”

INEC said that the petitioners erroneously put the burden of proof on the Commission, “whereas the responsibility of proof lies on the petitioners”.

The electoral umpire also claimed that majority of the 38 witnesses called by the petitioners confirmed that the March 9 guber poll conducted by it complied strictly with the Electoral Act.

The three-man panel of justices of the Governorship Election Tribunal which is expected to deliver judgment tomorrow, Monday, is led by Justice Sirajo Muhammed, as Chairman, reports Igbere TV.

The South African government has approved a special envoy to visit Nigeria and other countries affected by the recent xenophobic attacks in their country, Igbere TV reports.

This comes barely 24 hours after the country’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, was booed by a crowd of Zimbabwe mourners at the funeral service of Robert Mugabe over the attacks.

Following the humiliation he suffered at the hands of the Zimbabweans, Ramaphosa has now taken steps to address the negative image the citizens of other countries currently have about South Africa.

A statement published on the official website of South Africa’s presidency on Sunday said Ramaphosa has appointed a special envoy to heads of African governments to convey his regret concerning the widely condemned attacks.

The statement obtained by Igbere TV on Sunday, added that the special envoy are expected to visit Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Zambia.

“A team of Special Envoys appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa have begun their assignment yesterday, 14 September 2019, and departed South Africa to deliver messages of solidarity to several Heads of State and Government across Africa,” the statement said.

“The team, comprising of Mr Jeff Radebe, Ambassador Kingsley Mmabolo and Dr. Khulu Mbatha, will visit Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.

“The Special Envoys will deliver a message from President Ramaphosa regarding the incidents of violence that recently erupted in some parts South Africa, which have manifested in attacks on foreign nationals and destruction of property.

“The Special Envoys are tasked with reassuring fellow African countries that South Africa is committed to the ideals of pan-African unity and solidarity. The Special Envoys will also reaffirm South Africa’s commitment to the rule of law.

“The Special Envoys will brief governments in the identified African countries about the steps that the South African government is taking to bring a stop to the attacks and to hold the perpetrators to account.”

A Twitter user, Katoma, had told Nigerian music star David Adeleke, alias Davido, to learn how to write his songs by himself instead of engaging the services of song writers, Igbere TV reports.

This was after Davido revealed that one of his favorite songs on his upcoming album was co-written by another artist, Adekunle Gold.

“One of my favorite songs on my upcoming album was Co written by @adekunleGOLD !!! Thanks for your touch on this ! God bless you brother #Agoodtime”, he wrote.

When told to learn how to write his songs by himself, Davido replied the Twitter user saying; “Maybe more artist should learn to tell the truth”, indirectly implying that most artist buy scripts too, but lie about it.

But another user snapped back at Davido, saying; “Ode that was a simple talk but instead you turn am to hate probably why they don't like you.”

Replying the user, yet again in a tweet sighted by Igbere TV, Davido said; “Who is they ?? Ur on ur own o”.

Ex-Zimbabwean President, Mugabe's Burial Delayed For One Month

The final burial of late Zimbabwean president, Robert Gabriel Mugabe, will be delayed for at least 30 days, Igbere TV has learnt.

According to Mirror UK, Mugabe’s burial will be delayed because the family and the Zimbabwean government have finally settled for a final resting place for the former dictator.

Igbere TV had reported that the Zimbabwean government was negotiating with the Mugabe family on where and when the late former leader would be laid to rest.

According to AFP, the government had planned to bury Mugabe in the National Heroes Acre monument next to other Zimbabwean national heroes, but Grace Mugabe, his widow, had wanted a private burial instead.

With the new development, Igbere TV learned that the Zimbabwean government will now construct a new mausoleum for Mugabe over the next 30 days in the Heroes monument.

Mugabe actually oversaw the monument's construction. Heroes Acre was built as a special burying place for top officials of the ruling party who helped to end white-minority rule. It sits at the top of a hill, where there is a large sculpture of guerrilla fighters.

According to the latest arrangement, Mugabe will now be buried at the spot originally reserved for him next to his first wife, Sally. His special mausoleum will also be elevated above all the other graves.

The Mugabe family’s decision on Heroes’ Acre as the burial site for the ex-leader came after consultations with influential traditional chiefs, reports Aljazeera.

Speaking on Saturday during the state funeral, Zimbabwe's current president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, who led the plot to oust his former boss (Mugabe) in 2017, said building the mausoleum would delay the burial of his predecessor.

Mugabe, who ruled Zimbabwe for 37 years from independence until he was ousted by the army in November 2017, died last week in a Singapore hospital at the age of 95, reports Igbere TV.

Nigerian rapper, 'Falz', has been unveiled alongside other international artistes as nominees for the 2019 BET Hip-Hop Awards, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that the 28-year-old was nominated in a new award category launched to honour artists from around the world.

Falz contends with artistes from Africa, Europe and Canada will compete for the new "Best International Flow".

This year's nominee list, which was released Thursday by Billboard sees Cardi B leading the pack with 10 nominations.

The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, ruled on Atiku Abubakar’s petitions on the use of smart card readers by INEC, Igbere TV reports.

The five-man panel of justices said the petitions were not generic, adding that the matter had already been resolved against the 2nd respondent (INEC).

Chairman of the panel, Justice Mohammed Garba, thereafter, called on other members of the panel to give their decision on the matter.

Igbere TV reports that the remaining four members of the panel acknowledged their agreement to the rulings (gave by the chairman).

The Presidential Tribunal has dismissed President Muhammadu Buhari’s petition, alleging that Atiku Abubakar was a Cameroonian, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that the five-man panel tribunal, Tuesday, held that the petition was “diversionary”, “incompetent” and “lacked merit”.

The Tribunal also ruled that Buhari and the APC ought to have filed a Cross-Appeal to query Atiku’s eligibility to contest the February 23 presidential election.

Igbere TV recalls that Buhari and his party, APC, had contested that Atiku was not qualified to challenge his re-election since he was not a Nigerian by birth.

Oshiomhole, Secondus, In Warm Embrace At Election Tribunal

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and the National Chairman of the opposing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, embraced each other at the court room of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja.

The presidential tribunal will today deliver judgement in the petition brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 Presidential election.

Igbere TV recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had lodged the suit challenging the petition of Atiku and PDP against Buhari and the APC.

INEC had urged the Tribunal to strike out the list of witnesses and evidence that were attached to Atiku’s petition, insisting that it was not validly signed by a legal practitioner.

It alleged that the name on the NBA seal that Atiku’s lawyer, Dr. Livy Uzoukwu (SAN) affixed on the petition dated March 18, was different from the name he filled in the Supreme Court roll for lawyers.

But in its ruling on Tuesday, the five-man panel Presidential Tribunal said it was satisfied that Atiku’s lawyer was validly called to the Nigerian Bar, insisting that INEC’s petition lacked merit.

According to the Tribunal, it was evident that Uzoukwu was called to Bar in 1982, served as the Attorney General of Imo State between 1994 and 1996, and conferred the SAN rank in 1999.

But in its ruling on Tuesday, the Tribunal said it was satisfied that Atiku’s lawyer was validly called to the Nigerian Bar, insisting that INEC’s petition lacked merit.

According to the Tribunal, it was evident that Uzoukwu was called to Bar in 1982, served as the Attorney General of Imo State between 1994 and 1996, and conferred the SAN rank in 1999.

The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has just dismissed an application by Atiku and PDP, challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s academic qualifications, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV recalls that Atiku Abubakar and the PDP had prayed the Tribunal to upturn Buhari’s victory in the February 23 presidential election, over his controversial WAEC certificate.

But, the Tribunal in its ruling on Tuesday, read by Justice Mohammed Garba held that the petition was incompetent, lacked merit; and therefore dismissed it.
