A call just came in that there's a chance for me to be enlisted into the force but with a secondary school result. I am a bsc holder, am confused here pls, is it advisable ? can I upgrade later? How is the work as a secondarian? how's the pay like? Will I be making a mistake if I accept the offer?
Pls someone with good information about this should help me out.
And if I can upgrade later, how realistically possible is that? Thanks . |

Biggieboy: If u are new on qa and u are still struggling with 2's and 3's, I won't advise u to pick any fc uk call. With time, when u get better and start getting back to back 4's and 5's then u can just decide that this week the only calls i'll pick will be fc uk calls. Before u know it, after like 1 to 2 weeks u'll start getting used to it.
I don't work on CLH calls till now because it's just not worth it. At least fc uk, their pay is higher than normal... How can u distinguish between the FC UK calls and others ? Even the 1minute and 2-3 minute calls I do pick most times are all FC UK calls. |

Biggieboy:
Lol. @ the bolded. You na boss for transcription na. Wot could I possibly tell u that u don't already know?
I make use of my phone and laptop. I use laptop when there is light or when my system is charged. I make use of my phone when my laptop is dead. I have a 30,000mAh power bank so I don't have to worry about my phone battery being low.
Are there certain times I pick calls?
Not really. I normally pick long fc uk(at least 20 mins) calls sha. I had to adapt to the fc uk accent because there are times that the only calls that are on queue some times. As long as the audio of the call is okay, I have no issue with it. Apart from your earphones, do you use any other hearing aid or application to easily decipher the FC UK words or accent? Coz it feels those FC UK calls are indecipherable to the African Ears and totally annoying. We keep wasting our tokens everyday on those calls coz of their dominance on the platform. |

Awoleesu: My sympathies young man!
I want to tell you where you did go wrong...
1.When quitting a job even under the worst circumstances, be thankful to the organization. Say something good about them in your resignation.
2. You should always warm yourself to the hearts of your bosses, especially those who have shown you some kindness (no matter how trivial)... That manager who did part with some "stipends" for you must have expected much from you - perseverance, smartness and a sense of gratitude. You disappointed her!
3. There are 'Boardroom' ethics... You don't talk about personal problems in a forum where organizational goals are the focus...
4. I'm glad you are intelligent enough to pick some lessons from your experience... We learn everyday!
My advice, please go to that erstwhile manager, apologize for your inexperienced attitude and convince her (without asking for any assistance) that you've learned and improved since then... Who knows, she might make you an offer.
Above all, our world is a topography of unlocking connections so don't burn bridges! Thank you so much Sir. Learnt alot. |

Daisy17: I noticed that the OP did not respond to you although you made very pertinent points. He only responded to people who were consoling him, insulting his former manager or telling him that something better will come along. The OP certainly has a victim mentality and if he doesn't change his attitude he will face stumbling blocks all though his professional life. He needs to be more professional. He most likely quit without giving adequate notice. Also no professional brings their personal struggles to the workplace especially when it concerns finances. Most financial institutions would not want to employ someone who has glaring financial difficulties due to the fact that they may be tempted to steal money. I definitely had my faults. The manager was good to me. I was only surprised with her reference knowing she knew the reason I underperformed. I wish to become a better person . Thanks Mate. |
