For those people saying 8k is too small, I can only conclude that you're either all working in multi-million naira companies, or you're still collecting handouts from your parents/relying on allowances from them. For the ladies, I guess you have wealthy clients. So I don't blame you, you have no idea how bad the economy is, or how hard those people worked to earn their money.

Here's my take on the issue;
1. Spending money on a girl and regretting it is retαrded. If you guys are close, you shouldn't be having second thoughts, no matter the sum. I see no other reasonable reason why you decided to open a thread about it. Unless you're here to brag or receive accolades for your heroics.
2. For those of us that actually have jobs outside of oil workers and CBN staff, we know how hard we work for every kobo we earn. The average graduate-level salary is about 50k, out of which one has to feed, transport themselves and pay rent. So no, 8k is in fact not too small to spend on a girl, unless you have at least 200k in your savings account.
3. Friendship is a two-way affair. I'm repulsed by this Nigerian mentality that a guy has to spend vast sums of money on every female he interacts with and dare not expect the same from the ladies. The lady in question is probably also a corper, who receives the same allowee. So tell me, could she spend 8k on the guy? Let's not forget the money was spent on shopping, not that it was her birthday or something special. The day I meet a Nigerian working-class lady that is willing to spend 8k on a male friend she's not in a relationship with, will be the day I give my life to Sango .
