Blackchampion: ABUJA – President Mohammadu on Wednesday encouraged Nigerians no to despair over the continued Boko Haram attacks against the Nigerian State, assuring that insurgency will soon become history. Buhari’s assurance followed his condolences to all Nigerians who lost relatives in the latest terrorist atrocities in Jos, Kano, and Zaria recently. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the president “urged all Nigerians not to be unduly disheartened by the seeming resurgence of terrorist attacks and atrocities in the country as his administration remains fully committed to overcoming the challenges of insecurity, terrorism and insurgency as quickly as possible.” . Shehu stated that “already, the intensified onslaught by the military on terrorists’ strongholds has led to significant seizures of weapons and vehicles, a blockage of their sources of arms and ammunition, and a decimation of their fighting men. “Buhari assures Nigerians of the ability and readiness of the country’s armed forces and security agencies to contain the frantic resort by the terrorists to attacks on soft targets such as crowds and places of worship. “President is convinced that with recent increases in troops deployment, improvements in the supply of arms and equipment to the military, as well as the ongoing effort to mobilize greater international cooperation and support, the end of Boko Haram and terrorism in Nigeria is in sight.” . http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/insurgency-boko-haram-days-numbered-says-president-buhari/ . JSayin:
Lemme help you post the story
'Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha told public sector workers in his state, some of whom have not been paid for six months, to be “resourceful”.
He said they should “stop depending on salary and look for business to do”.
This is the level the governance of Imo State has descended. It is a bit rich coming from a governor who can’t pay salaries of public sector workers in his state but has bought a private jet since he became governor, and is advising workers to take on businesses on the side that would mean they can’t concentrate on their jobs.
The same governor has not bothered to be “resourceful” himself and sought other ways for his state to become a viable entity through other sources of revenue, rather than over-rely on monthly allocations from the federal government.' the same governor will still demolish their stores if they obey. Well imo should enjoy the change, simple. |

ArabaONE: The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has condemned the recent attacks by Boko Haram on Monguno, Kukawa and Maiduguri in Borno State, which left many people dead. A statement on Sunday in Kaduna by Muhammad Ibrahim, the National Publicity Secretary of the group, described the attacks and killings by the insurgent group as worrisome. According to ACF, it was deeply worried same way Nigerians were worried and disturbed with the recent and frequent attacks on villages and even states capital of Borno and Yobe by the Boko Haram insurgents. “The renewed direct attack on the people in the Monguno, Kukawa, Maiduguri and many villages in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states is cruel, barbaric and condemnable especially in the holy month of Ramadan,” ACF noted. “This clearly shows that the Boko Haram insurgents are cults in form, character and operation as their claim to be Muslims is untenable. “Islam enjoined Muslims not to fight during the month of Ramadan no matter the provocation, let alone, attacking and killing innocent people for no just cause,’’ it said The ACF said that the activities of the insurgents posed a serious challenge to the military and other security agencies. It commended the decision of the Federal Government to move the military operational command from Abuja to Maiduguri and the establishment of the Multinational Military Joint Task-force. The group also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari’s visits to Niger and Chad and for soliciting the support of other foreign leaders at the G7 and African Union summits in the fight against Boko Haram. ACF further urged the security agencies to employ new strategy and intelligence gathering to smoke out the terrorists from their enclaves and hideouts. “With the adequate supply of equipment and other logistic support to the military, Nigerians expect to see offensive attack on the terrorists,’’ it said. ACF also urged communities in the affected areas to cooperate with the security agencies in the area of intelligence gathering. oh acf should just shut their trap. If they re not Muslims maybe they should be xtians or ifa worshipers. Bunch of drunk senile old, tethered, hagard old fooooooools |

FlirtyKaren: This is a photo from the deadly bomb blast that rocked the Yan-Taya mosque in Jos yesterday. The blast had happened as a sermon on the occasion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan was going on. Another blast occurred at Bauchi Road, a major thoroughfare in Jos that is also in an area where many Muslim families reside. At least 15 people were killed and 20 others were injured in the attacks.
May God comfort the grieving, and give our government the courage, wisdom required to meet up with this danger.

It is only those who are uninformed that will fall for this your cheap trick aimed at tarnishing the image of pmb and also sets the south against the north. is that why only bornu should ask for 200 billion. Politics › Re: President Buhari's Key Appointments Thus Far Hasn't Been Fair by ahaz: 12:04am On Jul 03, 2015 |
Tomjazzy2: Obieze Emmanuel Wrote:
"In a multi-ethnic State like Nigeria, a man assumes leadership as the President and the first ten(10) appointments made, nine(9) of them are from a particular section of the country and you don't see anything wrong with it..."
Let me quickly, but clearly point out here that I have always had my reservations when ever issues of ethnicity/regionalism comes up for public discourse, particularly as it concerns key appointments into public offices. These concerns are mainly anchored on our peculiar socio-ethnic make up, and the politicization of same for chauvinistic and personal goals.
However, with recent events in the polity, one can not but begin to view critically, the various appointments made thus far by mr President into some vital positions. For the avoidance of doubts, let me painstakenly highlight some of these appointments:
1. INEC Ag. Chairman- Zakari Amina(North)
2. Head of Department of Petroleum Resources- Mordecai Ladan (North)
3. Accountant General of the Fedration- Ahmed Idris (North)
4. CSO- Abdulrahman Mani (North)
5. State Chief of Protocol- Lawal Kazaure (North)
6. ADC- Lt Col Mohammed Abubakar (North)
7. SSA Media & Publicity- Garba Shehu (North)
8. SA media and Publicity- Femi Adeshina (South)
9. COS- Col Hamid Ali (North)
10. SSS DG- lawal Daura (North)
Obviously, the President has the perogative of power to solely make appointments into the above highlighted positions. But with equal obviousness, the President in considering the peculiarity of the Nation, ought to be guided by wisdom, even as he seeks to appoint the best hands to help make good on his campaign promises to Nigerians.
Let me reiterate here that I am not in any way an ethnic bigot, but I strongly believe that ignoring the afore will amount to me playing the ostrich. op you re right. Things like this make me question the so called one nija. Gudluck was called an Ijaw president by the north nd apc due to some appointments he made nd today pmb is doing worst nd nobody is talking. Gen. Ihejerika was accused of igbonizing the army due to his appointment but former I. G did worst. The issue is we Nigerians re consciously giving the north a pat in the back for whatever wrong dy do only to cry later when we face the reality of our stupidity. Today it's gudluck tomorrow it can be bayo or Emeka |

The road could completely disappear as early as next week if the rain continues as expected, effectively crippling economic activities in the area. The road also leads to Imo Songhai Farms and The Nekede Zoo. It has been like this since several months and the government is yet to do something about it. As it is, this road cannot exist beyond two weeks. I decided to take these pictures on my way back from work this afternoon.
