Many commentators have posted these pictures of the daughter of President Buhari, Halima Buhari to justify their opposition to Amasa Firdaus’s argument that Hijab is her religious, constitutional and fundamental right and those commentators have insisted that if Halima Buhari can leave her head/hair uncovered, then no Muslim Lady should complain. As misleading and fatuous as this argument is, I’ll attempt to respond. With due respect to Halima Buhari, no one freaking knows who she is. She was not mentioned in the Quran or Hadith as a model or example to follow. Not even her father, the President was mentioned. The closest their name “Buhari” has come in anything related to being a Muslim is in the Hadiths reported by Imam Bukhari and none of Imam Bukhari’s Hadith collection list Halima Buhari, Muhammadu Buhari or Aisha Bukhari as an examples or role model to follow. As far as Islam is concerned, you’re even allowed to disobey your parent, albeit respectfully, when they ask you to do what the God has forbidden. So one should freaking tell us Halima Blah blah blah obeyed. That is her and her family’s decision and problem. After all, Amasa Firdaus and Halima Buhari do not bear the same name and I’m not aware their constitutional rights are tied together. Halima did what she wanted, let Firdaus do hers.

I just called my elder brother few minutes back to fecilitate with him on the call to Bar ceremony of our daughter Barrister Amasa Firidaos but i got the shock of my life when he told me Firdaos was denied the long awaited dream of her life just because she would not put off her Hijab. What has Hijab got to do with a ceremony that is not lasting beyond an hour. What offence has Firdaos committed rather than being an obedient servant of her Creator to deserve this ill treatment from the Nigeria. We are talking of a 2/1graduate of university of Ilorin and did excellently well in the law school. Brothers and sisters in Islam, please help broadcast this message for Aljannatul Firdaos as popularly called get justice from the Nigeria state. Amasa Mohammad Tukur write from Portharcourt.
