Football is not about imbibing European culture
People just concoct all kinds of theories without Research or knowledge

Firstly North Africans are not Arabs
Once we establish that the conversation is over
They are Arabic speaking just like most South Americans are Spanish speaking they are not Spanish
Before the Islamic conquest they had a very distinct identity
They are mainly Berber and Tuareg in their ethnicities
Egyptians are NOT close to Europeans they are also. NOT Arabs

One problem I see is mental laziness
Somebody throws a theory and you roll with it without questions

The question is

ARE NORTH AFRICANS ARABS.?

Then

What or who is an Arab

India and Pakistan are close to Europe but they prefer cricket
They are not excellent in athleticism
The key elements are
The right genetic material I.e. athletic genetics
Interest of the population
Investment
We in Nigeria have the first two
Compare to East Africa we are not closer to Europe in Nigeria than Kenya , Ethiopia

Football is played on a 100 metre field
West Africans can run very fast for 100 metres
Kenyans can run for 10 kilometers
They are not good at football compared to us
Oga, I don't want to go so deep with you on this "Arab" matter because the topic is football related. You really need to go back and do your research properly. 70 to 90% of the people living in the North Africa are ARABS. Yes there exist some other ethnicities (notably the Baberians, Maghreb and ancient Egyptians) that were conquered by the Arabs but they are only minority populations today.

MAJORITY OF NORTH AFRICANS ARE ARABS. Please do your research well before Start insulting others.

Morroco, Tunisia and Egypt national teams is far better than UAE, Syria, Qatar, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq etc in football and sports generally.
1. The African Arabs are closer to Europe in terms of bilateral relationships. And so a good number of North African Arabs have imbibed a lot of the European culture which also includes football. You can see that North African teams play like Europeans.

2. The competition from the Sub-Saharan nations is massive and that has always kept the North African Arabs on their toes. Morocco with all their exploits at the World Cup has not won the AFCON since 1974. This is a testament to how competitive the game is in Africa.

3. North African teams have generally invested more in football development than their Asian Arabs counterparts.

When Chelle was appointed, on of his first public appearance was at a CHAN eagle training session.

He has been watching and attending some Nigeria league games.
From start he already knows that was his job, so this excuses don't count
The quality of the Nigerian league has crashed.
You can also see it in the way the Flying Eagles play: all power play, no brilliance.

I always watch all Nigerian teams play any game at any level, from start to finish. But I stopped watching last night's game at half time. Didn't even bother to check update from anywhere until 2hrs after the game that saw that it ended 4:0.

Any Nigerian team should never be losing 4:0 to a Sudanese team.

At least Tinubu will not be giving away $100,000. Make we keep our money for better things.

Justin Madugu was asked about Ngozi Okobi on the radio just now.

He said that people have a wrong view of female football. He said that people think that it's the younger the better, like in male football, but that's not the way it is.

He said that if you look at other developed nations, their best players are in their 30s, some are even in their 40s. He said that these players still have something to contribute on the field and even off the field.

Therefore, he said that he is not ruling out Ngozi Okobi or any of the other players. He'll select players based on performance.

In 2025, Business men will drop any kind of kickback or gift to either retain the marginal fields or have it reallocated to them. In 2025 people buying marginal fields are not the alakija's of 1993, they are wealthy billionaires and millionaires in dollars who do not mind taking a chance, even if it is the generation after them or beyond that will benefit it.
Since the signing into law of the PIA in 2021 Marginal fields no longer exist. They are converted to PMLs.

How about we call 2 left full backs & 2 right full backs & the other 4 centre backs

The midfied is fantastic, long overdue
People clamored for Uche and Onyeka months ago but NFF drafted Yusuf based on padi padi
Would be nice to see what the new guys can offer

Our defense needs an upgrade too
Hopefully new names prove their worth in unity cup
Nwabali needs serious competition too
Have you already identified the new Two left full backs, two right backs and Four center backs?

Please recommend to the NFF

I remember that 1997 JAMB... i was a victim as well. After preparing very hard for JAMB that year, it was my second attempt... i was sure i would score not less than 360, cos i studied super hard... only for my result not to be released. I wrote it in Lagos... And I never engaged in malpractice... I was so disheartened... This was me that had A1 in Mathematics in SSCE amongst other great results... i was so sure i was going to crush the JAMB result that year, but JAMB had other plans.

Thank God for predegree program to study Electrical/Electronics Engineering later that year...
Same here. I had A1 in Maths in WAEC, 1996. There was no JAMB that year so I had enough time to prepare for the 1997 JAMB. I didn't cheat. But my result was not released. It really affected a lot of Centers in Surulere then.

Daga in the midfield at this Afcon would have made a world of difference.
His passport situation that made him miss the Wafu B before his move to Molde was finalised cut him off from the team and his strong start to life at his new Norwegian club couldnt get them to release him.

He is missed and if this team picks the WC ticket, about than 70-75% of the team needs to be dropped.
The success of this crop of U20 players is important. The 2013 & 2015 U17 products and other players of their Generation are already in their late 20s approaching 30.
If we don't assemble another crop of future Super Eagles with this crop, sorry we may have to turn our eyes to the foreign burns, even more now than before.

That lad is so young and his physical development isnt at par with the other U20 lads currently but a real talent is there.
I really feel sad for that U17 team. They were just so unfortunate to miss out of the CAF U17. They had the potential of doing well at the FIFA U17 WC.
And Cletus could have taken the world cup by storm. I believe this U20 provides him with another opportunity. Boy competes well with the U20s. Even a highly talented 17yrs old Kanu Nwankwo then couldn't compete with the U20 team that had Okocha, Tijania Babangida and Taribo West but had a master class tournament when dropped to play with the U17 team.

For Cletus to compete well at this level it really shows his potentials.

-Emmanuel Chukwu (#22), CB

I should add Divine Oliseh too but he has been disapppinting so far despite shining well in the Wafu B and the pre afcon prep games.

I had tried to convince myself about the quality of this team but this Kenya game sums it up for me.
They are not as good as the last U20 not to talk of the Obuh's crop. Siasia's boys are like Universes ahead of them

Now they are to face a highly gifted, well drilled and strong Sierra Leonean side.

True.
After watching the Morocco vs Kenya game, I knew it was not going to be easy for the Flying Eagles. I like the fact that we are really very solid at the back and our goalie has so far displayed exceptional qualities.

I only just hope we top the group so we can face an easier opponent in the knock out stage, which will actually be the World Cup qualification decider.

It was actually a highly tactical game with both sides showing respect for each other and both also knowing that a draw will likely be enough to see them to the next round. With that draw, Kenya has been kicked out as the max they can finish with is 3pts which Tunisia has already and will be ahead of Kenya on head to head.
