Sugarboyy:TheGoodjoe and Thesupernerd, we appreciate all your contributions here. We have together been on this Journey for well over 10years. It can only be passion that has kept us coming back here to read and contribute to discussions. We respect you and all other regulars here. Sugarboyy if only you know some of the personalities behind these monikers..... if you say these persons are jobless I am equally jobless because I was for so many years very active here, I only, lately, reduced it to mainly reading of posts and I still make contributions to certain issues. We have treated each other with utmost respect even despite our arguments here. For me, THIS IS THE MOST USEFUL THREAD ON NAIRALAND and I have a million and one reasons to say so. This thread can boast of some of the best football analysts in Nigeria. Sugarboyy, abeg, desist from the insults. TheGoodjoe and TheSupernerd are two of our best men here, and any insult thrown at them is an insult thrown at the rest of us. Please let's follow peace with all men, and continue with our discussions and analysis. |
Sugarboyy:Sugarboyy, you don't need to throw insults at anyone. This is absolutely not necessary. Why this na? |
TheSuperNerd:Yes, I am jare. Had issues with my other moniker |
TheSuperNerd:Hi, I am not sure you are more pro-Amuneke than I ![]() |
Rapmoney:This is nonsense na |
Space is infinitesimal but rays of light diminish in space and as such parts of Space do not receive rays of light, and then appear dark |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIr5IryvgBI He had a hybrid look of Diego Maradona and Ruud Guillit. When ever he was on our starting line up we were almost sure to win. "Okparaji go play? Ah we go win be that" ![]() Throwback goal from Samuel sochukwuma Okwaraji (popularly pronounced as "Okparaji" . He was a Fans' Favorite, one of the most loved players in the team then. An assist from another legend, Rasheedi Yekini, saw us go into an early lead with a thunderous strike from "Okparaji" against Cameroon. Such was what Okparaji was capable of. It was a second group B game of the Maroc '88 AFCON. Game ended 1:1. One year later, during a 1990 World Cup qualifying game, against Angola he slumped on the grass of the national stadium, Surulere, Lagos and was confirmed dead next morning. We won that game 1:0 but lost the final group game 1:0 to Cameroon away in Yaounde, without Okparaji, in a game that we needed a draw to qualify for Italia '90 World Cup Many believed that if Okparaji had played that last game we couldn't have lost. Continue to rest our Hero: Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji |
TheSuperNerd:Mods banned my original moniker this morning for the 24hrs. This was the Algiers 90 AFCON squad. Back row from left to right: Alloysius Agu, Ademola Adeshina, Okechukwu Uche, Rasheedi Yekini, Isaac Semitoje and Andrew Uwe. Front row from left to right: Abdul Aminu, Moses Kpakor, Herbert Anijekwu, Friday "Elastic" Elaho and Thompson Oliha. This was the beginning of the team that matured into the 1994 squad. |
