Travel / Re: Fiji Island Is It A Best Place To Hustle by aijaydiva(f): 11:41am On Apr 13, 2019

Yes, Fiji is visa free to Nigerian passport holders, however it is impossible to fly to Fiji without any visa whatsoever, because due to Fiji's distant location, at least a transit visa is required depending on the route, but usually two transit visas are required- You need a UK transit visa and a South Korean transit visa because the journey takes almost 2days and there would be 2-3 layovers, usually in the UK and South Korea.

Travelling that sort of Journey without a UK transit visa at least, is ris... what am I even saying, the airline would not even allow you board without a transit visa, so guy a visa is necessary for Fiji.

Oh and the ticket would cost from 3000 USD upwards

You are on the right track but some things you said are not correct. Yes Fiji is visa free for Nigerians, but except you are going there for tourism, you can't just enter Fiji on the grounds of going to hustle. To enter Fiji, you must either enter;
⏺️ As a tourist, with details of your return ticket shown as evidence you'll go back home else you won't be allowed in.
⏺️As a skilled migrant, meaning you've already gotten the job while you were out of Fiji. So your employer must have sponsored you visa. One major issue about Fiji is that they have very strict laws against giving a Foreigner job when qualified Fijian citizens are available. I fact they advertise job vacancies uncountable time for Fijian citizen only, and only open the positions to other nationalities when there was no qualified Fijian. Don't get me wrong,! There are a lot of foreigners in Fiji but you get the gist.
⏺️To invest in a business in Fiji. This involves a lot of due process, protocols and the capacity to pay all fees involved.
⏺️ To study!
⏺️To retire. Meaning you have enough money to retire in their country.

Fiji is a peaceful country and quite laid back (not bubbling), so they also want to make sure nobody comes to disturb their peace. It's a tourism paradise so most tourists who go spend money and go.

Traveling to Fiji is not beans. Money wey you go use go Fiji (plus return ticket), you will start a good business in Nigeria.. So except your trip is being sponsored or you are really rich, please knock yourself out

As for transit visa, it depend on you route. It's normally 2 stops from Nigeria. If going through Singapore, you won't need transit visa except you have any reason to leave the transit area.

Because I have seen Fiji... And Fiji is just a small Island with the posh opportunities reserved just for "it's citizens" ... Like, everybody knows everybody in Fiji, so anyone who screams "Jobs!" In Fiji... I hold my peace, but I know better(statistically), having been with an organization aimed at community development in the Pacific regions.

Except you work in the university of Fiji or the UN, Fiji is no haven for occupational relocation or economic migration(only FNU or a UN based organization can put you on an expat salary), I just think of Moana anytime I remember Fiji... There is also acute poverty in that Island, but the people are naturally content people, so they love their Island life. Suva is also a very crammed up city, because it is the live wire of Fiji... bottom line; if you are not on an expat salary, don't go near Fiji, regardless of the job offer.

I know Nigeria is hard now, and relocating seems a likely solution, but I implore people to critically analyse some travel destinations before the actual venture. Check your hustle destinations first.

However Fiji is a great place to visit, the Scenery, Beaches, Skies, the air/atmosphere, and overall feel is almost like no place on earth... I would absolutely go there on vacation and spend money... But to go and live there indefinitely ... no way Brov.

OOK sir. I know you know better but u do not not it all. That u feel that there is acute poverty there doesn't change the fact that Nigeria's poverty is chronic. This acute poverty stricken small island country's money value is Quite impressive. 1 USD= 2fijian dollars (FJ$). 1FJ$=₦174. I really do not need to tell u d details of my relocation, but if u don't like a place, u don't have to say nobody should 'go near Fiji regardless of the job offer'. One thing I know is this, any opportunity given to one that is better than one's current situation, it's better to grab it.

As much as I am still baffled about your family's potential relocation to Fiji, I would answer your question;
Fiji is visa free to a large number of countries owing to the fact that they don't have as many consulates dispersed globally, except within the pacific region and the UK if I am correct.
So yes, Fiji is visa upon arrival to the Nigerian passport, if you meet certain criteria.

However the main challenge with flying to Fiji are the transit visas you would require, of which the UK, South Korea, or South Africa would be required, as there is no direct flight to Fiji.

Why is relocating to Fiji baffling to you?

Please what are the processes of getting a job with a company in Fiji? Is there a recommended job site I can use?

I really don't know the process of getting a job in Fiji, my husband applied for the job through naukri.com. Fiji has a strong policy against employing foreigners if there are qualified locals available. So getting an employment there means no local was qualified or applied for the job. But the good thing is that u can travel to Fiji without visa as a Nigerian and stay for up to 3 months. You could use the opportunity to hunt for jobs. One thing is certain there, you have to be offered employment to get a work permit.

....This NYSC people are just funny.....I knew they were gonna give people who paid 4k prefential treatment.....

....I just hope they send ours over to our school as soon as possible.....

.....How about those who register and are yet to make the payment??....Will it forwarded to their school??....or they ll simply wait till they pay the cash??.....

....Its a pity our government has folded their arms to this money extortion from jobless youths who are only willing to serve their father's land.....Its a pity our Senate only made empty promises when we heard the payment has been suspended......

....SOmetimes I just wish and wish......
hey dear
its always been stated that paying the 4k wasn't compulsory. u only pay d 4k if u want the call up no. to be sent to u directly. i felt it was a cheaper and less stressful alternative to travelling to sch. Anyone that didint pay would have to go to sch to get his/hers. So its not preferential treatment.

I also hear they've stopped the payment. don't know how true it is sha

was really reading to find d kind of neighbors i have. my neighbor is a marijuana addict and a noise maker. he is either at work or at home. he never goes visiting so he always has visitors. and guess wat!? marijuana is always the oji (wat he offers dem). worst part of it is that they always come outdoors to smoke it and u can neva breath fresh air in compound. even inside d house all u perceive is "mary jane". i have not even talked of the constant loud music and Noise. not to even talk of the wrestling that always occurs between him n his wife. hmmmmm we r running away this month ooo.

That is even a minor issue. The main problem is when there husbands dont have names again. If she used to gist her friends abt her boyfriend, his name wld be called. But after marriage it becomes "my husband".

i never fancy the way catholics pray for mary, to me its worshing of another being which the bible strongy disagree in the ten commandment. i need clarification here if am wrng.
catholics dont worship mary. They just give honour to whom it is due. God had the power to come down straight from heaven in His Might. But he chose to use a woman as a vessel. Now tell me that woman isnt blessed. People like abraham, isaac and jacob only spoke to God directly yet they r regarded so much. But for a woman to be chosen to nuture our Lord till, that is d reason she is honoured so much. As for her being an intercessor, its believed that even after u pray to God,begging her to interceed on ur behalf could help a great deal. As for the bible basis of this belief, the story of Jesus turning water to wine is a grt example. He did what his mam told him. Even b4 he died on d cross...."son this is thy mother. Mother this thy son" was wat he told one of his disciples etc etc. Catholics hv their doctrines and dat atleast should be respected even if u dnt believ in dem. Dont we see the way most pentecostal church members almost worship their pastors

Religion / Must Tithes Be Paid In Church? by aijaydiva(f): 12:36pm On Oct 06, 2013
Hi fellow nairalanders.
There is this issue that has always bothered me and it's the issue of paying tithes. Sometimes some people talk about it like u'd go to hell if u dont pay ur tithe or if u dont pay it in church. I believe in helping the needy and those who cant afford to feed. I understand that it is necessary for there to be offertory in church as the church is an institution dat needs funds to cater for her needs. But as for tithes i dont think it should be primarily and exclusively given in church. Afterall wat i give to my brothers i am giving to God.
I also need to know wat other christians think. Thanks

Although im not married, but if i wrong my boyfriend i apologize to him. But he has d habit of either ignoring my apology or blaming me the more when i apologize. So these days, i just apologise and leave him. Never knew it wld work. Now if he does d same, after sometime he'd come and apologise to me for ignoring my apology. cheesy cheesy cheesy

one thing i've learnt; things cant always be rosy. Sometimes Wen u come across some unwanted situations, instead of quitting, device new means to curb d situation especially wen u understand wat works 4 ur partner.
