Oasis007: Hi everyone,
Today I’m writing from Spain, getting ready for the first training camp of the season with the national team this Monday. This time it’s going to be special because there have been major changes, as you know, including a new manager, and it’s the kick off for the Russia’s World Cup qualifiers. I notice there’s excitement in the football fans in my country ahead of this new stage and, of course, all of us are looking forward to do well and to enjoy again these few days with the team. I feel privileged to be called up and to be a part of the national team. Being here is always very exciting to me, it’s a special feeling.
The first of the two games is a friendly one, yet a top level game: against Belgium, a squad full of great players and also with a new (and Spanish) manager. This is a game that had to be cancelled in November last year but luckily we can play it now. It’s meant to be a tough test ahead of the first qualifying game against Liechtenstein in León, where I’m sure our fans will give us a warm welcome.
As you can imagine, we reach the international break with plenty of energy and optimism after the third win in the Premier League. Last Saturday we suffered a lot to beat Hull, but Marcus Rashford’s late winner did justice to our performance. We tried everything during the 90 minutes and it was very exciting to celebrate the victory at the end with the team-mates and the fans who were there supporting us. Winning in the added time always leaves a special taste; however, next time we will try to close the game earlier.
I hope you have a nice week. Hugs!

Lana1: Was he not on the pitch when we demolished them 4-2?? Anyways, i get it. Carrick has been underrated for most of his United Career. So i understand ur reservations. That match was 2 seasons ago. Since then Carrick has lost a lot of pace and mobility. Can see Silva and De Bryune having him for lunch. I may be wrong though. |

Lana1: Ur suggested lineup isn't bad. But anyone at this point who still thinks Rooney ll be benched is being naive.
Martial, Mhkitaryan and Rashford all at once will neva start together. At least not yet.
As for Schneiderlin, i guess u're right. He should replace Fellaini in the lineup. Tho i'd love to see a Carrick-Pogba combo. If we use Carrick against man city they will demolish our midfield. |

Oasis007: Rashford played well yesterday, he's a good Lad, but it's too early to rate him ahead of Martial!
Martial has not lost it, he's just getting back to form, and he's definitely gonna pick up from where he stopped last season.
Fellaini is simply an underrated Player at the moment..... he has improved a lot under José, and so far he has performed excellently!
If Mourinho prefers the Afro-Man over Schleiderlin, Carrick and Herrera, then we should know there is something really special about him. He's simply the first Player I thought Mourinho would get rid off, but he's gradually becoming an integral part of Mou's starting Lineup! I swear after what Martial did last season people are expecting a lot from him. It's like they've forgotten that he's still a 20 year old. |

Good win.
Hull were basically defending from their 6 yard box.
Rashford or Mkhitaryan need to come into the team for Mata or Rooney.
I think with more game time Martial will get back to his form of last season. |

Massive RESPECT I think Mourinho will play him in league cup and f.a cup matches. The guy is an excellent back up. |

Wingback: This is why I was trying to avoid the argument. Weren't you the one that asked for examples, I didn't even get it right but the winger raundeter guy came in. Abeg go sleep.
Do you know anyone in their academy, his stats? Look at Ajax they rely mainly on youth system and they flourished in it. Athletic Bilbao or something like that uses Spanish players mostly and they have been holding their own in top flight.
2 types of club...Money or Youth City or United. And so far United will need the money route if it hopes for anything this decade. Guy are you comparing Ajax and Bilbao to man utd. Ajax just got trashed by FC Rostov with their youth and couldn't make it into the champions league. Bilbao are just an average club in Spain. Once in a while they'll challenge for European slots other times they're just midtable. Is that what you want for man utd? Midtable obscurity? I'm not against promoting youth, but the youth players need to be brought in at a time when the club is stable and less pressure is on them. Pogba developed at juve because he had winners and a stable team around him. We are in a critical position now because if we don't get it right we could end up like arsenal or Liverpool going 10, 20 years without a title thinking every year is our year. |

Wingback: When I mean academy I mean players from Pogbas class or beyond they must be older than 21 so what exactly is my business with Rashford?
Particular attention is beamed on class of 2010-2012. And so far it's been failure. Guy that class of 92 thing is a very rare sth. Even barca sef how many youth products have they put in their first team since the set of messi and busquets. Tello failed, Pedro was not good enough for their ambition, montoyo failed, bartra failed, minor is there but they're still looking for strikers, sergi samper is a fringe player and they still bought Andre Gomez. Bayern don't have any recent Academy graduates, Madrid no. The way I see it, we're the only club that is close to replicating that class of 92 at the moment. We just have to hope the youngsters can fulfill their potential. For all the talk of how good Chelsea and Man City are at youth level we hardly see any of these players make an impact with the club. |

Wingback: Rashford Unproven
TFM Unproven
Perreira has how many goals and starts? One or two goals in a competitive match if you count the International champions cup as competitive.
Pogba came through her youth system but didn't make it directly into the first team, Intact I credit Andreas Pirlo for making him into the kind of player he is.
Ravel is a Thug, he made one start for Lazio last season.
Jackson Unproven
Tuanzebe who?
Januzaj is Moyes Boyfriend.
I am talking about Players from our academy that are now starters and only Lingard fits that Bill although his potential is still questionable
How won't all these guys be unproven when most of them are younger than 21 save Pogba and Ravel. The main point is that these are promising youngsters that have come out of our Academy in recent times who have great potential. Now it's up to them to fulfill it. |

And now it's 2016 and we can't even boast of a superb player since the 2010s. Jesse Lingard is looking more like a squad player and we haven't produced and sensational players...SMH. Rashford? TFM? Perreira? Pogba? Ravel Morrison? Borthwick Jackson? Tuanzebe? Januzaj? |

MrTA: I doubt he'll make it back at the club with this move. This guy is going to turn out a very good left back. He's just unlucky that we have a potentially world class one in Luke Shaw. I wonder if we can convert him though. He has an excellent cross but isn't quick enough to be a winger (not like that stopped Beckam), and I've read that he prefers central defence. Playing him as a DM is also an option because he's a good passer. It's just a conundrum really. |

afrodoc2: Goss is 21 in October if he is not ready now he wil never be ready. He should be given a senior chance for us to judge, if he does not make it he can be let go. He is not quick i agree but his game is mature. Poole is 18 and should be given time to make his mistakes in the reserve team away from pressure. Same with TFM and Tuanzebe. Harry Kane was 21 and was deemed not good enough for spurs. I don't know much about the Goss guy but players have different development arcs. He could suddenly have a growth spurt (in terms of ability) over the next few months who knows? Also some players respond well to being in the first team than others (Rashford for example) |

Oasis007: “I know him and have always liked the way he plays.
“I know he’s not a normal right-back because he used to play as a winger, but I think that, right now, he is the best right-back in the world, maybe with Dani Alves, because I like Dani Alves a lot. I think Antonio is one of the best right-backs in the world.
“When you have a right-back who is quick to defend and he is crossing maybe six or seven times a game, always or almost always successfully, then he understands the football. When I have the ball, I know that Antonio’s always ready to receive it, always to give you one solution.
“I think he’s going to be very important this season. He has already been very important for the club, he has already been here eight years, but I think I told you at the end of the last season something good is being cooked and everyone wants to be part of that.”
- Ander Herrera Too early to say this. If he can keep up this level of performance come the end of the season then the statement will be justifiable. I hope he does. |

Lana1: Glo just fûck me up all day
Anyways, wia do i even start from sef. Good match. Great win.
Zlatan proving me right at what i late last year. Zlatan at 34 is 100% a better Striker than Rooney ll ever be at 30.
Bailly was solid as usual. Blocking everything left, right and centre. Southampton forwards had no answer for him. Anyways i'm still not impressed yet. Make i watch the Manchester Derby after the international break b4 i jump on Bailly hype train.
Shaw. Oh my God! Where are those Arsenal fans that were putting Shaw and Monreal in the same sentence last season?? If not for Moreno, only God knows what might ve being with his combination with Martial down that left flank last season. Boy is obviously one of the best LBs in d league. What is a Monreal for where Shaw dey
Pogba was all over the place. MOTM performance for me. And the difference between him and Herrera was as clear as Arsenal and a UCL trophy. He might ve cost so much, but his quality was there for all to see tonight. Only time will tell if he'll end up justifying his price tag.
Martial needs to sharpen up. His decision making was poor today and was taking too much time on d ball. Hope he regains form soon enough. Coz an IF Martial and Shaw would prove too much for the opposition to handle.
As much as we all hate Rooney and hope to see him relegated to the bench, his presence in the team cant be downplayed. Nice assist but still hope he finds his way to the bench sooner rather than later.
Good start to the season. Its still too early to get our hopes up. But i want to see what we'll play against City b4 i adjust my expectations for the season. Agree with you bro. Especially Pogba. I've not seen a midfield performance like that in all my years of watching EPL. I'm not saying it's the best midfield performance I've ever seen but it was sth special. As for Martial he was woeful in the first half but improved in the second half. In the second half he was driving at defenders and making the correct runs, even that sexy through pass he gave ibra that ibra failed to control. All he needs is one goal to spark his confidence. Excellent performance against a very good Southampton team. |

Ander Herrera has revealed to MUTV that a conversation with new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho led to his deeper position in central midfield, with both agreeing he could be an “important player” this season. The 27-year-old Spaniard started last Sunday’s 3-1 win at Bournemouth as a combative deep-lying midfielder and earned plenty of his praise for his performance at the Vitality Stadium, with Reds legend Gary Neville even naming him his personal Man of the Match on Twitter. During an interview with MUTV ahead of Friday’s match with Southampton, Herrera was pleased with his display. “I had to do a different role in the team and I think I can be important there for the manager,” Ander explained. “I have spoken with the manager and we are agreed with that, that I can be an important player for the team and that I can help the team in that position. I think I can win a lot of balls back for the team. My instinct is to try to win the ball back for the team as quickly as possible. “I felt really, really good and not only with the ball, but also without it. The team was very compact, you can feel that always you are pressing the ball when you have two or three team-mates close to you, helping you, so I want to keep doing the same and helping the team." Herrera also spoke about how much the team has already improved this season and outlined how Mourinho had instructed the players to beat Bournemouth by several goals so that United could sit at the top of the Premier League after the first round of fixtures last weekend. “I feel that the level of the team has gone up,” he said. “I think we can get good things together, we can do something important this season, not only because we have won the last two games. I think if you can see our training sessions every day you feel something special, everyone is happy, we want to play as quickly as possible, we want to keep winning games, we want to be top of the table. “I remember before the game against Bournemouth, the manager said if we score one goal we have to try to score the second goal because we want to be top of the table right now. So that’s a good mentality I think. But of course we have to keep our feet on the floor because the season is long.” Looking forward, Herrera is relishing the prospect of playing alongside new signing Paul Pogba, a player he has a lot of admiration for. “I think he’s a top player, maybe one of the best five players in the world that we have with us so it’s very important. He can recover the ball, he can shoot on goal, he can dribble and he can defend so he has everything. We are so lucky because we have him. "When you think about the best players in the world they are very good but maybe they are very good at specific things. But Paul is good at everything so we are going to enjoy him. As a midfielder I will feel very good if I have the chance to play with him." http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2016/Aug/united-midfielder-Ander-Herrera-reveals-his-discussions-with-Jose-Mourinho-about-his-new-position.aspx |
